The Music Freaks (Gacha Life Series - YouTube Animated Story)
Project Overview
I am looking for voice actors to star in my new Gacha Life (Musical) Series that will be uploaded onto my YouTube channel RosyClozy.
The Music Freaks is a high-school romance/drama story of a popular boy called Jake who has a secret passion for singing, which he hides from his judgemental friends. The music club, run by Hailey, is looking for new talent for a national band competition, and in an effort to impress his crush Daisy, Jake decides to audition. It follows Jake's struggles with making amends with the club members he used to bully with his friends, and where his loyalties should be if he wishes to be true to himself. In following episodes there will be more focus on other characters and their romance/drama.
It will involve copyright-free music for the singing parts, so I'm not looking for singers! This is a story directed at teens, and includes little to no cussing. Characters appearances may change slightly.
Important things to note before auditioning:
- This is a long-term project, expecting to reach roughly 8-10 episodes in total. This means you must be prepared to lend your voice every week for roughly 8-10 weeks.
- You will be given one new script and new payment every week!
- Not all characters have lines every episode (mainly extras), but you may be needed again later on! Also keep in mind that some characters will have more/less lines in future episodes.
- Have a good microphone - No background noise/static or echoing.

Must be ready to hand in lines by the deadline (one week). - You may audition for multiple roles.
- You must have PayPal in order to be paid - Payment will be given after lines are received and finalised.
- If you have Discord please leave it below - this will make it easier to communicate with you and receive files.
Include both lines and required noises (e.g. laughing) in your audition!
If you could also record two takes of each line with variations that would be great!
I've put most of the accents as North American, but I'm open to all accents. ^-^
Payments listed below are only for episode 1 (not the whole series). It's not much unfortunately... (I wish I could have a bigger budget) but it's something! You will be given a new script and payment for each episode, and payment may increase/decrease for some supporting/minor characters in future episodes.
This is a great opportunity for any voice actors who want more recognition! Voice actors can have a shout-out at the end of the video! I will definitely credit you. :)

Jake is your typical popular guy, with many friends and an arrogant façade. On the surface it seems he doesn’t take anything seriously, but he is secretly passionate about singing which he hides to avoid judgement from his friends. He has a huge crush on Daisy, but hasn't confessed yet. He is often butting heads with Hailey and enjoys teasing her.

I've never told anyone this, but, the truth is, I want to be a singer. It's been my dream since I was a kid. But I know my friends wouldn't understand; they'd just tease me if I told them. But in the music club, with you guys, I feel like I can be myself.
(Talking to his crush Daisy, trying to act nonchalant) I-I don’t really sing. I mean, I can sing, but it’s not really a big deal.
(Sarcastically) Uh, is this the music club? It just seems I’ve stumbled across the debate club instead.
Hailey is independent and hardworking, and her family/friends mean everything to her. She dislikes Jake and his friends who tease her and her friends. She finds an escape in music and enjoys playing her guitar in the music room.

(Arguing with Jake) Why don’t you just admit that, deep down, you’re just a very jealous, little boy who wishes he had half of our music talent. (Sarcastically) Have fun achieving nothing with your life.
(Talking to Jake after he has auditioned to be a member of the music club) (Sighs) I’ll let you join. But only because we could really use you. However, if you’re ever rude or step out of line with any one of us, then you’re out. This is my family, and I’m not having you try to tear that down, got it?
Forget about those assholes, what about you? Are you willing to throw away your dreams and ambitions for this... facade? If you want to be somebody else, then all you need to do is change.
Zander is a well-spoken, serious character, who is emotionally distant from others except those he is close to. He is particularly protective of his step-sister, Hailey, and his childhood friend Luke. He has a crush on Luke which he keeps hidden in order to protect their friendship and Luke from others potentially tormenting him. He loves playing the piano, and hopes to become a professional pianist.

(Talking to Hailey about their bullies) It’s as you said, they’re a walking reflection of their insecurities that wish they had half the talent we have. There’s no point giving them the satisfaction of a reaction.
(Outraged by everyone’s positive response to Jake) No way! He is not joining our group, let alone singing for us in the competition! Hailey, don’t tell me you’re considering this?!
(Talking about Luke) He's infuriating. He just stands there with his big, golden eyes blinking down at me, with that stupidly adorable grin on his face and- (realising he's getting looked a funny) W-what did I say?
Luke is an optimistic, caring friend, who loves playing the drums. He started to play ever since he met Zander, and ever since has had a crush on him. He is a pacifist, and often tries to resolve conflict in the group. He also has a suprisingly intimidating side to him when he's angry.

(Talking about Jake) Shouldn’t we give him a chance, Zander? He’s a great singer, and he seems like he’s really passionate about singing.
Don't get me wrong, I couldn't be apart from my baby (referring to his drumset), but I wish I could sing like you. Maybe then I'd find it easier to convey my feelings to the one I love...
(Smiling sadly) I can't tell Zander how I really feel... He only sees me as his childhood friend, or just a bother probably. I doubt I'm his type anyway.
Milly is strong willed and independent. She struggles to make friends in her class, often finding herself in trouble for starting fights in school. She enjoys playing her electric guitar and listening to rock or heavy metal, and is very hyperactive when she's in a good mood.

I'm Millicent! But you can call me Milly. I’m the main guitarist, and probably the best one out of everyone in this club to be honest.
(Arguing with Zander) How is that fair?! Just because Sean and I don’t like your boring, classical music, Zander. You’re a buzzkill!
I've been fighting ever since I entered this hell-hole of a school! You can't stop me from fighting, those girls are asking for it!
Sean is a big fan of EDM and loves producing music. He is the oldest of the group, laidback and doesn’t like to involve himself in drama. He often stays behind after school to avoid problems at home with his parents.
He has a deeper, but cheery voice. Not too serious, but mature.

Nice to meet you Jake, I’m Sean. I dabble in pretty much anything music related, but I mainly like to produce music.
(Caught by Daisy cleaning up after school) Thanks Daisy, but you don't need to worry about me; Mr. Bucket, Mrs. Mop and I have plenty of great conversations together. They're great company! (Laughs to try and convince Daisy)
(Showing compassion for Jake) Hey, cheer up. I'm sure they'll come around eventually. I don't know what happened between you three, but I can tell you're a good kid. You'll find a way to make it up to them.
A very cute, popular girl. Head-girl at school, she is kind to everyone and performs well at school. She takes an interest in Sean when she notices him staying behind after school nearly everyday.

(Talking to Sean after catching him cleaning a classroom) Isn't it lonely, staying behind after school to clean a classroom? I know, how about I keep you company!
Drew is a spoilt rich-kid who enjoys showing off his expensive gadgets to his friends and looking down on those he deems inferior. He is good friends with Jake, Henry and Liam, but begins to suspect that Jake is hiding something.

Hey Jake, you know I told you about asking my parents for the new LuniBox console for my birthday? Well, they bought it for me last night. Now I can play the new Gacha Warfare on my new 8K Ultra-wide monitors.
(Pointing and laughing at Hailey and Zander) Hey, look over there. It's the music freaks. What try-hards.
(Confronting Jake) You don't... like the music freaks, do you? I mean, I know you joined that club for your crush on Daisy or whatever, but do you actually consider them friends? That would be hilarious.
Henry is a bit of a goofball, but also a bully. He teases others with Drew and Liam, and has a height complex due to people picking on him for being small.

Best friends with Drew and Henry, Liam is generally quiet but perverted. He enjoys talking about girls.

Sadie is a quiet girl who is usually found reading at the front of the classroom. She is often used by her teachers to tell everyone to be quiet due to her creepy auror.
