Project Overview

Hello! Im searching for talented audio artists and musical composers to help me with my short animated film im doing at my college!

My name is Melodie, and im 20 years old and im in my 3rd year of animation school. This is a school project of mine, but I will also be posting it around on my socials! 

The person/people I choose for this role will ofc be creditied, and paid to the best of my ability (which is, unfortunately, broke college student levels 😅)

Please check out the video linked to this posting for my storyboards, but I will give a breif summary of my story!

The story opens to Amala, a young woman in a parking lot in the woods at night with striking eyes. Visibly distraught, she closes her eyes and wakes up in a labyrinth with cracking walls and a blood-stained floor. She hears the hoofbeats of an approaching monster. Quickly, she grabs a nearby stick as a weapon and begins sprinting through the labyrinth, the monster coming ever closer. Eventually, the monster meets her in the clearing in the centre of the labyrinth. They get into a breif scuffle  but the monster quickly overpowers Amala. As it reaches for Amala, the monster leaves a scratch on her cheek. She wakes up back in the parking lot, but with a scratch on her cheek from the monster. A physical token from an unreal(?) world.

    Thank you to the people who said they are still available! The school week can be a bit busy for me, but i'm re-reviewing the audios you have given me in your initial auditions (for those of you who said you are still available)! I will be in touch as soon as I can find some spare time. If anyone who is still available hasn't let me know, this is another reminder! All of the people who submitted before I had chosen are quite talented, I'm honestly just looking for the specific vibe I feel my film has. Also, my school coordinators are pushing for us to submit this film for film festivals and the like, so that will be potential exposure for you as well as my socials! My school is also doing a more 4th year wide short film, and we will need music for that as well next year. It will be a group effort, so it will not be just my film but if you would be willing to compose I know that film will be 3D and also submitted to film festivals.

Im looking for someone to compose a 1 minute long instrumental song for my short film. Please view the google slides or video linked to my post, and create a .mp3 file of snippets from songs you have done in the past that may fit the vibe im going for.

You can compose something for me if you'd like, but don't go too far out of your way to do so.

Im looking for something haunting, with rising action building up until the climax, then dropping off after Amala wakes up. I would like to have the sounds of approaching footsteps on wet concrete in the film, please feel free to include a sound sample of that as well if you'd like.

Think Coraline, Over the Garden Wall, or Gravity Falls for inspiration!

For this role, id like to specifically request someone to find sounds of approaching hoove-sounds on wet concrete.

Human footsteps on wet concrete are needed as well as monster sounds and the snapping of a branch
