#1. What is this project about?
This animated comedy/horror short s about a young woman named Tabby who got bored and decided to watch a cursed tape after her father told her not to.
#2. What is your role of the short?
I'm the writer, storyboard artist, compositor, animator, sheet timer, music editor, and sound designer for the short.
#3. Is it safe for kids to watch?
No. I'm sorry, it's just too scary for kids to watch.
#4. What gave you the idea to write this short?
The idea of a short got me inspired when I was watching the Ring, a 2002 horror movie about a reporter who investigates a cursed tape to get an answer on why the video kills people within seven days. A little off track, but the beginning scene gave me a jolt because it was actually the origin of a well known, infamous screamer that pops up when you least expect it. Anyway, I decided to pitch it to Myles since I figured he hasn't done a short film in a while.
RECORDING GUIDELINES
#1. Since this is a horror cartoon, you will be expected to scream bloody murder.
#2. A good microphone is preferable (XLR mics are recommended, but a Blue Snowball or Blue Yeti would work just fine)
#3. Make sure you have little to no background noise.
#4. Have fun.

ABOUT THE CHARACTER
Tabby Tucci is Ty and Tanya's 23-year-old daughter who wears a grey sweater, glasses, brown curly hair, and light-yellow sweat pants. She's an energetic, slightly daring foodie who loves to eat and sometimes risk her life to dangerous tasks.

ABOUT THE CHARACTER
Samara Morgan is a ghost. She is very haunting in appearance, resembling a Japanese onryō, a spirit focused on vengeance. Her hair is now black and soaking wet, hiding her waterlogged and deformed face which has turned somewhat grey in colour with sunken eyes. Her skin has become an unnatural moldy colour, although when she climbs out of a television (portal) her skin appears a murky grey. In addition to this, her white dress becomes tattered and soaked with water, turning it brownish-yellow, grey, and black.

Here's where you audition to be a music composer. A music composer makes the music for the short. You can use any DAW you're comfortable with.

Here's where you apply to be an animator. An animator takes the storyboards and time sheet/exposure sheets and make the characters come to life. You can use any program, but Toon Boom Harmony or OpenToonz are recommended. I will be animating some parts too.

Normally when I do the compositing, I do it all by myself, but since Myles wants two compositors, I figured meh, why not. Anyway, here's where you apply to be a compositor. A compositor compiles a shot together and add some special effects. The compositing style we're going for is the anime style of compositing where it has diffusion, realistic lighting, and etc. Also keep in mind, I'll be doing some of it.

Here's where you apply to be a background artist. A background artist takes the storyboards and makes the backgrounds for the short.

Here's where you apply to be a clean up and color artist. A clean up and color artist takes the rough animation from the animators and cleans up and colors the animations. We're going for thin outlines and have them nice and neat.

Here's where you apply to be an editor. An editor takes the shots and put them together to make the short and add some cool transitions and stuff. They even make the animatics too. You can use any program, but Final Cut Pro X or Adobe Premiere is recommended.

Since Myles and I are sound designers, we're gonna need some sound effects editors for the short. Please note that I'm unable to share my sound library rn since my Google Drive storage isn't bumped up yet, and my library isn't fully expanded yet, but I can share some of my libraries in my arsenal if you'd like, and Myles would share his library too. You can use any program you're comfortable with.

Here's where you apply to be a dialogue editor. A dialogue editor edits the dialogue and cleans up unwelcome pops, clicks, and noise from the dialogue. They also add effects to the dialogue if needed. You can use any program you're comfortable with.
