Hello! Thank you for your interest in this project! My name is Eily Jacobs, and I am a director, artist, animator, and overall creator of various stories I love to work on. This current project, however, is the most special to me.
Out of the stories I’ve created, “The Assemblage of the Stars” has stuck with me the strongest and has been developing since I was in the eighth grade - for a total of four years. Now, as I prepare to enter contests for animations and develop my portfolio to apply for colleges with, I wanted to make a mini pilot to use for these purposes based on this series.
I will give some disclaimers now, however - I plan to make this into an official animated series through a fully funded studio I plan to own years in the future. That being said, if you are cast as a voice actor for this mini pilot, this does not guarantee you will be the official voice of the character later on during official development. I am just in need of voice actors and music composers to help out with this small animation as of now!
(This story also belongs to me through Amazon’s copyright laws, as it was published in a series of six books a while back - many things have changed since then, but the overall concept, characters, and title belong to me.)
STORY:
“The Assemblage of the Stars” follows the concept of stars in the sky having conscious minds and the ability to take forms as humans on Earth. As stars in the sky, they are protectors of the Earth, and they protect the people on Earth from various threats, most of them being rogue or evil stars among themselves, fighting with powerful abilities based on their constellations.
In this pilot episode, we are introduced to the concept of the stars as our main antagonist, Algol, leaves the sky and becomes a human on Earth in search of power. Regulus, a grander star, takes it upon himself and five other stars listening in to follow him to Earth and stop his gain of power. However, we find out that four of the six stars that follow him lose their memory upon arrival, including Eta Draconis, our main character...
Alongside this, we are introduced to Blake Redfield and his family on a camping trip. Blake, being one of the main characters and phone-obsessed young adult, discovers Eta lying in a crater in the woods. Thinking he’s dreaming, he returns to bed, only to be bewildered at the sight of the same “girl from his dream” approaching his family the next afternoon with no memory. The final scene in the mini pilot showcases Algol, who massacres a police station in order to gain control, grow his power, and ensure no one can stop him.
(DISCLAIMER: There are sights of blood in violence within the final scene of this pilot. If you are not comfortable with this, then this may not be the project for you!)
VOICE ACTING:
I’m looking for a total of 13 voice actors to help with this project (Four female, seven male, and two either)! The characters’ lines range from only one or two lines to many… it all depends on the character!
As well as this, if you’d like some extra context on scenes, feel free to take a look at the entire script through this Google Docs link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sOTlM2Oa2QvFU8pppdRC7pCLKR46VKYgMiOclNxpjhw/edit?usp=sharing
PAYMENT:
Regarding payment, I am unfortunately not in a position where I can pay a lot. I always try to make it my goal to give payments to anyone I work with on projects, as I truly believe everyone deserves some sort of financial gain from working with a team. This means I don’t want to pay nothing - so while I do offer payment, it may be VERY small for what you talented voice actors deserve, and I apologize that I can’t give more!
MUSIC COMPOSITION:
There are a total of 5 scenes in this pilot, and 5 original themes to be played during these scenes. I have music scene notes ready for those who get casted, so you have an idea of what you’re working with and what to do.
For the music, I’d prefer an orchestrated style of music. At the same time, in scene 5, I REALLY want to work with synthesizers and rock style music, as the scene is the first time the audience is introduced to the main antagonist’s true power and intentions! So make sure you can work with both of those styles!
Music production should not start until after the VA lines are synced up with the animatic, which hopefully will not be long. This is to make sure you have the ability to witness the entire scene visually and audibly for the best possible outcome of music.
DISTRIBUTION:
My goal is to have the entire pilot completed by the end of November, if not any sooner. When fully completed, this animation will be entered into a college portfolio, a few animation competitions, and it will be available to view on YouTube with links to it on various other social medias. If you are not comfortable being in a production that will be distributed in any of these listed locations or competitions, this may not be the project for you.
AUDITIONING RULES:
Please be kind and respectful when submitting your audition, and feel free to listen to other auditions too and be positive to each other!
I’d prefer if you could use an XLR mic - however, USB is accepted, too, as long as the audio is clear. Unclear audio or background noise may weaken your chances of getting cast.
If cast for a role, we will begin work shortly after the cast is announced. This will be through a discord server, which I will link at the bottom.
Voice actors will be required to attend a script reading session (that lasts up to an hour - most likely not as long!) to receive direction notes on lines and scenes!
Music composers will also be required to join these script reading sessions for a feel on the scenes.
I am taking this as professionally as I can, like all the other projects I've created. However, that doesn't mean we can't be loose and fun at some times!
Have fun! I’m looking forward to meeting a new cast and crew to work with, and I want to thank you all again for your interest in helping me with this project!
DISCORD SERVER:
This is the link to the public discord server, where production and script readings will go on. I’d recommend joining the server after auditioning for a role - I will be posting an official cast list there, so it may be easier to hear about the roles and updates!
Even if you are not cast for a role, the server is still a great place to view progress on production and updates on everything, as well as other projects I’ve worked/am working on, and it’s a great place to meet new people and hang out!

Best of luck to everyone!
