(Accusatory) You have brought a wolf inside our house, Egyptians! Jabal Shammar is a puppet to the Ottoman throne.
We will never forget your betrayal during the Arab rising of the Great War. Good, Arab fighters were martyred while you groveled at the Ottoman Sultan’s feet! This shame cannot be undone so easily. The Sharif of Mecca and his revolt died due to your cowardice!

Yet still you blame us for old grievances, brother. We are here, are we not? Are we not pledged to your cause!?
(venomous) The Sharif of Mecca died because he fought an unwinnable war. The Sharif of Mecca died because he was a fool!
(Accusatory) You all know the war of 1919 was a lost cause! With German support and the British defeated, the Arab revolt would never succeed. Jabal Shammar did what was needed to survive. That was back then. My presence here should have made it clear where our nation stands today. We knelt to the Sultan, yes, but only to bide time. To arm in secret. To prepare for a day when the Arab cause could rise again, god willing.

SILENCE! Do you not see, brothers? This is how the foreign imperialists have ruled us for centuries. By dividing us. By making us see tribe, house, family, where we should have seen a great Arab nation.
Long and dark it has been, the winter of imperialism in Arabia. But a new spring has come, brothers. The British Empire has collapsed. Germans and Ottomans squabble over the remains. In the Caucasus, Turks and Germans fight each other openly. Their ‘alliance’ is worth less than the paper it is set upon now. Syndicalists prey upon our enemies’ borders. Our foe is distracted, weakened, and the Arab cause has never been stronger. Let there be no mistake, brothers. Cairo invites you today to join a great Arab alliance – a righteous, holy war that will undo us of the corrupt Turks and their imperial pretensions over Arab lands. On the honor of your fathers, God and the Prophet, do your governments agree to the terms of this treaty?
Berlin is distracted, spread thin, and far away. This is our day! This is our land! The Ottoman Empire will fall without the support… of the Kaiserreich!
An Ottoman soldier monologues about his experiences in the desert campaign of the Great War. This is a veteran soldier, tired from a decade of continuous war. He shares his doubts in a personal letter to his wife
Talya, my sweetheart, my Canim. In the end, I sometimes wonder what the Great War really accomplished for us? Out in the Levantine Deserts, as we set out daily to police another raided settlement, log another bombed train, I do not believe we have gained much.
*A deep sigh* I am tired, canim. And tired men look for strong ones to guide them. I cast our fates now with the Vizier Kemal. The one man who held faith, when all others gave up. The man who broke the corrupt Young Turks, and pushed the British from our homeland.
He sends me to the Middle-East, the lands of al-Saud, Egypt, Rashidi. There are rumblings in the West, Canim. A new ideology, Syndicalism, spreads through our defeated Entente enemies. The winds of war blow Eastwards, my love, as they have always done. I would tell you I am taking this posting to support the Vizier, to secure our land. But we both know I just need… time. Farewell, Canim. I wish I were a stronger man.
