Male Role Cast!
After very careful consideration and countless hours of stressful decision making, I've finally found who I believe to be the best voice for Steve. Everyone was seriously wonderful and it was truly a difficult task to pick the right voice. But I'm confident that my choice was the right one. Thank you to all the awesome male voices that offered up their services for this project. I'm forever grateful for your efforts. I now look towards the female talent as I face the next close-to-impossible task of choosing the perfect voice for Teal. Wish me luck. - Jon -
Nearing the deadline - A few notes.
It's been a fantastic casting call run and I've got to admit that I wasn't expecting the response that I've gotten. I cannot thank you all enough for the effort you've put in to auditioning. That being said, I've managed to narrow it all down (PHEW!) to a select few. Despite the arduous task of picking out the perfect two, I just wanted to point out a few things that I hope everyone understands. Just so everyone is clear on what exactly this whole thing is. It's my intention, with this project, to highlight the dangers of self isolation and portray what mental illness can actually look like. At least, what it *can* look like. The themes in this script are - what I believe to be - extremely confronting. If you're experiencing any sort of depression or anxiety, please be warned that this project will be exploring these afflictions to their core. Beyond the two main protagonists in this particular run, there may be space for a few other individuals to join the team. I know that I'll be looking for a few extra hands to help on the production side. If so, I hope you can come along on this particular journey as we attempt to shed light on an issue that so many of us experience on a day-to-day basis and create something that we can relate to. Much love, - Jon (Cosiere) -
Thank you all!
Thank you everyone for your wonderful submissions! Know that I am listening to every single one of them and giving them each careful thought and consideration. As the deadline nears, I'm working diligently on my end to provide a worthy script and storyline that'll be ready when you start :)
"I'm not too sure... everything I've ever done was for her. I breathed for her. I don't feel like... like I could ever be anything except what I was for her. I don't know what I am without her."
"Hi... It's nice to meet you. I... -chuckle- I'm sorry, this is all just... I don't really know what I'm doing right now. I guess I should start by introducing myself. I'm... I'm... - sigh - forget it."
- choking back on tears -" I just can't do it anymore. I hate it. I hate everything I've become. I don't want to be this... this... pathetic, good for nothing, hopeless waste of space. I'm... I'm just done with it all."
Teal is an android. A voice in a computer. Designed to learn and interact with humans. Not unlike the google pixel. However, this AI learns from the ground up. Instead of having a readily available understanding of language and communication, Teal must learn through whomever teaches her. This design was intended to truly personalize the AI's way of "thinking" and communicating. Thus the performance would require a voice that can convey her initial monotone way of speaking. However there'll be areas in the script where she'll have a random spark of emotion, albeit subtle. Eventually she'll reach a point where she is able to accurately mimic the "human" way of speaking.
"I do not understand. What does it mean to be broken? You are not an object."
"A belief is an ideology that one has no wavering certainty of. One will not doubt something that they truly 'believe' in."
"I have learned a lot in your care. I've even learned a few lame jokes. But, for the life of me, I could never understand why you - the person teaching me - have never been capable of forgiving yourself."
