Super Mario Starlight - Casting & Role Call
Project Overview
*This is an ongoing casting call page, so despite the deadline listing there is never an actual deadline point Roles will constantly be added to this page.
Hello everyone! I present to you Super Mario Starlight, my fan made, 2D animated Mario project. I am the creator, director, and lead artist, animator, and writer.
3 years prior to this series' events, the Mario Bros and Peach travled to Yoshi’s Island for a vacation, but King Bowser and his Koopa Troop were out to take over the land for tyranny. The Mario Bros and their new ally, Yoshi, thwarted the Koopa Troop and restored peace, with it being the last anyone has ever heard of the group. Nowhere to be found ever again, or so was thought. The Mushroom Kingdom was happy about their biggest threat being gone after years... but his Koopa Troop have recently been revealing themselves in the open, causing mayhem as they always did! With these various discoveries happening, this causes a question to be asked in the entire kingdom:
"What happened to King Koopa?"
The show aims to provide original stories along with adapting multiple pieces of existing Mario media into one, cohesive story.
This is such a huge project to take on, and I'm going to need all the help I can get. If you're interested, feel free to audition to the roles available in this casting call; voice actor, animator, etc. It will really help a lot!
Rules for auditioning include:
Have an easy way for us to contact each other for progress updates(Discord and Twitter are the big examples). A Discord server for this series does exist and will be sent to you after you get your audition accepted. Please make sure you're active enough in order for the process to go smoothly.
When submitting an audition, if available, put your portfolio, website, or social media pages that contains your work, specifically for the position you're applying for.
(Voice actors only): You must have a high quality microphone with little to no background noise for your audition and role. We will not accept your audition if you fail to do so.

Princess “Peach” Toadstool is the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom, the most famous kingdom on Earth. She is known to be sweet, humble, takes great care of her people, and is very forgiving to their mistakes. When someone helps her out on something like being kidnapped, she would often try to give them a bit of a reward as to her, they deserve it. While she is universally loved by practically every Mushroom Kingdom citizen, Peach herself has a huge fear of failing her duty as a princess, and this in turn causes her to not step out of her comfort zone much. When something gets out of hand or she doesn’t know what the outcome of a decision will be, she can rely on others too much.
- Her voice is sweet and gentle, with a sort of high pitch like in the games

Ala-Gold is very down to earth Toad, likes to be honest with his friends, and is overall a laid back guy who is eager for anything extravagant to happen. He is the older, more mature brother to Bucken-Berry, and while he stands for justice and is a great ally, he can be very judgmental to his friends and that can get in the way of what’s right and wrong, leading him to be very stubborn. Like with his brother, Ala was the Mario Bros' roommate before the latter got a house close to Toad Town, and looks up to Mario due to his bravery and optimism, but isn’t experienced enough to go on adventures with him. Maybe that'll change one day.
- For his voice, give him something akin to Toad's voice from Mario Kart 64, but a tad deeper.

Being the son of Bowser and prince of his kingdom , Bowser Jr is quite the hyperactive troublemaker, wanting nothing more than to live up to his dad’s evilness, and impress him in the long run. He loves to cause havoc for people, but as any rich child, is very spoiled, and hating the idea of him losing to the point of always having a defense if he messes up. Despite this, Jr is also pretty fearless, always taking an opportunity to thwart his opponents without thinking, which doesn't really line up well with his mentor, Kamek.
Hey, you losers! If you all want to get these Toads back, you have to go through me first. ME!

This red hat man stinks! He STINKS!!!! ...stinks.
Kamek is Bowser’s right hand adviser, who has been raising his master since he was a baby. He can come off as quite condescending to people who he thinks are less intelligent than he and his master is, but Kamek is actually a pretty polite guy all things considered, caring for the entirety of the Koopa Troop, especially with Bowser and Bowser Jr, to the point where he only refers to them based on what emotion they are currently having. However, this isn’t the same gestures he puts towards his own mother, always feeling embarrassed being around her due to her tendency to treat him like a baby. When it comes to intelligence, he is easily the smartest of the entire troop, managing to build complex machines for the minions to use, and even owns a library in Bowser’s Castle.
For his voice, take a reference to how he sounds in the Illumination Mario Movie.
Your liberalness... this intelligent plan I came with can finally gain us the Mushroom Kingdom! let me present it to you!

This guy has high levels of greed, so it’s no wonder that Wario’s main color is yellow. He does anything in the world to get money, whether it’s going treasure hunting or working for others just as long as there is a reward. His greediness can sometimes overtake him and spun out of control, to the point of doing things he wouldn't normally. While Wario has poor hygiene with his teeth and breath, which makes people assume his overall health is the same thing, he's actually quite athletic, often lifting weights in his spare time. Besides getting rich, the thing Wario wants nothing more in life is to take down Mario, his arch-rival ever since childhood, where he grew jealous of the latter's fame in school and aleays being the winner in games they played.
Mine, MINE! All the coins are mine! WAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

It should've been called "Super Wario Starlight"... you would love it more than the stinky Mario Starlight!
Waluigi is that one person that almost everyone can agree is boastful. Heck, the only person who doesn’t think of him that way is his partner, Wario! Being a mean spirited troublemaker, Waluigi is brash, selfish, and takes great pride in his antagonistic schemes before he even executes them(And they never even work). He rarely cares about anything other than Wario, who seems to be his only friend, and Princess Daisy, the one he deems will be his girlfriend one day. Daisy has no interest in him whatsoever, and is instead on his "self-proclaimed" rival, Luigi. With bad luck after bad luck, Waluigi has a great amount of self-pity due to feeling that nothing good ever happens to him, and always blames his misdeeds on everyone but himself, and it doesn't help that he never gets any spotlight and is quite forgotten about by many people. In fact, Luigi doesn't even KNOW Waluigi doesn't like him that much. Poor guy...
For his voice, take references from Charles Martinet's voice of him.

WAHAHAHAHA... FINALLY A WALUIGI WIN!
Toadette is a burster when it comes to creativity. She is generally a happy and upbeat person who enjoys being with others, but can get bossy and childish easily, especially when things don’t go her way. She's also VERY full of herself, always making quick conclusions to her work and inventions being a success. Luckily, she's not completely careless as she likes to be supportive to people, and helps them with countless duties, such as with a couple of hotels, constructing buildings, or helping in Mario’s adventures; Not bad for a person just making it out of high school. In fact, she even has a crush on Mario, always willing to impress and get attention on the deeds she does, flustering over him. Due to the countless work hours, Toadette doesn’t often have a lot of free time to herself, but when it does show up, she’s interested in music and animals. Don't bring up work unions when working for a company of her's... she REALLY hates those.
For her voice, make it like how she talks in the games, being very excitable, but not as raspy as the other Toads.

HEY! There's no time for slacking off, the Toadette work force needs to build soon and fast!
Toadsworth is the extremely passionate and appreciative steward for Princess Peach, who has raised her since she was a baby. He constantly looks out for her safety and gets extremely worried for her whenever she is in danger or gets captured by Bowser, and while he has a tendency to panic, Toadsworth tries his best to keep Peach in company and heavily trusts the Mario Bros to save the Mushroom Kingdom. He often calls Mario and co. “Masters” due to his respect.
For Toadsworth's voice, have it be like Scott Burns' take on him.

Back when I was a youngster, I was the master at Golf and Baseball! Oh how I'd like my glory days to come back....
MASTER MARIO!!!! PRINCESS.... KIDNAPPED!!!!!!
Sworn by his duty to teach Princess Daisy the ways of royalty… Snakesworth is the demanding steward to Daisy in Sarasaland, similar to Toadsworth for Princess Peach. Unlike Toadsworth however, Snakesworth is much more stern and demanding to Daisy than the former is to Peach, and a lot less kind too. Snakesworth constantly tells her to act like a proper princess and not pay attention to wastes of time like sports, to which Daisy brushes off. They get into MANY arguments about the subject, not helped by the fact Snakesworth has a bit of a grudge against Luigi. Despite these differences, Snakesworth still loves Daisy and wants to protect her from any potential threat no matter what, especially after being alone for years without someone by his side.
For auditions, haven his voice be vicious and eerie like an actual snake with rattles, but also doesn't sound creepy but more of an annoyed tone. Think of Snakesworth's tone like Squidward but more deep.
Princess, you HAVE to wear a proper dress when we visit the Mushroom Kingdom. You can't keep walking in those silly clothes of yours all the time!
Here comes the person integrated into the arts, Seni T.! At first, it was just a simple hobby for her as a child, carrying over the interest from her mother, who is now a retired painter. However, that all changed in 2nd grade when during art class, she met her best friend, Toadette, who needed help with blueprints for science class for her experiments project. Toadette was fascinated by Seni’s paintings, despite the doubts she had at the time to go anywhere, and recruited her to help out with the science project, thus sparking Seni’s dreams to become a world famous artist. Along with being determined for her goals, she absolutely despises seeing any lack of motivation when it comes to work, and hates injustice to anyone she cares about. While her favorite type of art is paintings, she has experience in almost every other medium. When not painting, she loves to enjoy nature and look at the beautiful sights in the world.
For her voice, try going for a a shy and soft tone, pretty different from the other Toads.

Don't let his regal and gentlemen-like attitude fool you, as this king along with his Bob-Omb militia is always trying to take land wherever they go in the Mushroom Kingdom, wanting the space for themselves. They don't get very far most of the time though, especially due to the king's slow speed and bad habit of taking a nap While having space is important to him, King Bob-Omb's most important goal is to find a worthy challenger, both to his incredible strength and mustache, the latter being something he brags on quite a lot and often judges people off of that. Unfortunately, he hasn't found a person that he deems worthy for as long as he's been alive... yet.
Excuse me, inferior one. I am King Bob-Omb, lord of all blasting matter, king of ka-booms the world over!
What a sad little thing, they don't even have a mustache. However, it's not like they can compare it to my fabulous l'stache.
Leader of the Chargin’ Chuck Blockade of the Koopa Troop, Boom Boom is always looking to get stronger whenever he can. Along with his sister Pom Pom, they are some of the most trusted members for Bowser, but Boom Boom doesn’t get along with his teammates well. In fact, some of the Chargin’ Chucks talk behind his back that he is unworthy of his position due to his awful defeat track record by Mario years ago, which his sister also makes heavily fun of him for. He can react very sensitive to comments on his disabilities, have a very bad temper, and can't quite say proper phrases with his very low education skills. Despite these disadvantages however, Boom Boom is ready to show everyone how good he is as a fighter all with raw strength, and with the Koopa Troop preparing to strike back at the Mushroom Kingdom, Boom Boom is looking forward to his long awaited rematch against the red
plumber despite his reputation. But don’t worry about him, he knows what he’s doing! …maybe.
For his voice, take note of the game voice from Sho Murata, but also give him a slight dense caveman like-accent. The way he says sentences is like a caveman(As seen in Mario Tennis Aces).
