Introduction
Hello! I am TheTVBunny and I am starting a Sonic IDW Comic Dub! To start that, however, I will need voice actors and actresses.
While I think a lot of you who are auditioning know about this comic, for those who don't, I'll explain. The IDW Sonic Comics is a series of comics that explore Sonic after he defeated the Eggman Empire. That never stopped anyone, however, Badnik forces are still attacking towns and cities. Though, Sonic saves the day.
Our original Tails actor was taken off the role due to a late turn-in of lines.
Requirements
I am very picky with who I choose for roles and a lot of voice actors I work with follow a set of requirements.
- Firstly, your voice should fit the part you want to play. There is a description for the character which should be read before auditioning. This gives a description of the character and the voice I am looking for. Impressions of these characters are allowed but are not recommended. I will give out references in case, however.
- Second of all, you need to put forward a good performance. I want to know whether the character is happy or in distress just from hearing your performance. I don't want a voice to sound one-note or monotone. This doesn't mean like a robot but just keeping a singular emotion all throughout a line. Give variety.
- Next, quality is really important. While an XLR is preferred, a USB microphone can still be used. Anything below a USB like a headset microphone or a built-in laptop microphone will not be used.
- On top of that, please adjust your gain so that it is not clipping and have little to no background noise or static.
- Also, insulate/soundproof your recording space. This is to not have any room reverb seep into the audio you record. The cheap way to do this is to put a blanket over yourself and depending on how much echo your room has, double it up. If some seeps through, this is perfectly fine. I have my way around it.
- Lastly, please do not add any effects. Things like EQ, limiter, normalization, and noise gate/reduction are exceptions to this rule. This is because I will be doing the audio editing/mixing myself.
Though, there are a few extra things that will be needed in order to audition for the characters...
- First of all, I need you to record each take at least two or three times. Anything more than that should be done on shorter lines. The format can be in ABC ABC or AABBCC. I prefer the former.
- Secondly, please add your Discord username and tag so that I am able to contact you.
- Lastly, state your age/age group. This is due to the fact that this project is 13 and over, preferably 15 and over, due to Discord's TOS (Terms of Service).
