You were raised by a now-dead single mother. You lived in a city. You are, for better or for worse, a blood relative of the Scarlets. A central theme in the game is about exploring the sins of the past, and exploring a town where you don’t know anyone, but where everyone thinks that they know you.
You jolt awake as the bus hits a particularly nasty bump. You feel like you’d only just managed to start drifting off, and now here you are, awake again and still exhausted.
Dude, what's wrong with you? Pushing joggers into the harbor? That’s awful! What if they drowned?
Are you sure you’re alright? You seem… tense. You know you can talk to me, right? I went through something similar when my own mom passed
Tabitha is a woman in her twenties. She has long, blonde hair and thin eyebrows. She wears a dark brown suit jacket over a tan collared-dress. She wears brown sneakers and white socks.Tabitha is not happy with her situation and job, and the responsibilities and her family history puts a lot of pressure on her. Despite this, she states that it is her burden to bear and could not trust others with her job.

Welcome to our family’s humble estate. Unfortunately, due to the current state of the house, only a few rooms will be safely accessible during your stay.(giving the rundown but also wanting to get done so she can get back to work)
Stella is a young woman in her twenties. She has brown, shoulder-length hair, brown eyes, and dimples. She is often seen dressed in a t-shirt and jeans and occasionally wears a letterman jacket. Her t-shirts have cryptid prints on them, featuring creatures like Mothman or the ghost tracks of San Antonio, Texas.

Gretchen! Come back! Quit bothering strangers!(running after a pug who managed to wiggle out of their leash)
Ha, that’s a funny way to introduce yourself, i’m stella. (a bit weirded out the person introduced themselves to the dog before stella)
I haven’t seen her since pearlanne passed… or for a while before that, now that I think about it(a bit of a bittersweet feeling in her voice)
Avery is tall and slim, often wearing plant-print dress shirts tucked into grey pants. Occasionally they wear a tan suede fur-collared trench coat over their usual outfit. They have an afro, slight scruff on the sides of their face, and wear a dolphin bite lip piercing. Their dress shirt is slightly unbuttoned at the collar, revealing a bit of chest hair.

So, has stella mentioned she’s famous? (trying to hype up a friend)
Duke's family is descended from the Tremaine family, which originally maintained the largest farm in decades and the earliest settlements in Scarlet Hollow. However, a break in the family led them to split the land in two, as well as the homestead. Duke is one of the two remaining Calloways left, along with his son Bo Calloway.

Wayne is tall and solidly built. He wears a miner's jacket with his name tag on it open, showing a dirtied and bloodstained previously-white shirt. He has reflective eyes that appear to glow and wears a translucent veil over his head. Underneath the veil, he has medium-length, wispy, dishevelled black hair. His face and body are putrefying.

Sybil is a small old woman with long wavy white hair and wears rectangular frame eyeglasses. She wears a red shawl and a patterned outfit underneath.

Of course of course. You’re in luck, I just put on water for hibiscus tea. And for goodness sake, you can call me sybil. You’re an adult now, after all. (Sybil is inviting them in after they mentioned they really needed her help)

Despite being skeptical of the existence of the supernatural, Kaneeka has always wanted to believe in magic, though this is rooted in her desire to leave town. This is reflected through her interest in magical girl series like Sailor Moon and Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Kaneeka also has a Piyomon plush among her other anime-merch, which also reflects the theme of wanting to leave or "get Isekai'd" as she phrases.

And a stranger, what are you doing in my house(confused why some out of towner is in town, let alone inside her own home.

Mike Franklin is the type of guy who wears sunglasses at night. He takes his job extremely seriously

Earl is a short old man with greyed out hair. His face is often smiling and somewhat carefree like his personality. He wears a blue police uniform and cap. Gretchen will comment that he reeks of coffee. Earl is the kind of person to make "my wife" jokes.

Well it ain’t exactly like ol’ is goin’ anywhere at this point. He’ll still be out there in the mornin’.(seems to not really care at all that a man is dead in the woods)

She speaks in a Southern Belle accent. Gretchen speaks in a slightly refined manner, though sometimes breaking out of character in "dog-like" mannerisms, such as when she becomes "overcome with white hot rage" when engaging with deer.
