Red Rising Fan Audiobook
Project Overview
Red Rising by Pierce Brown
This is one of my favorite series and it’s a little more well known than Unwind, so this book might move a little faster than my other project.
Description:
"I live for the dream that my children will be born free," she says. "That they will be what they like. That they will own the land their father gave them."
"I live for you," I say sadly.
Eo kisses my cheek. "Then you must live for more."
Darrow is a Red, a member of the lowest caste in the color-coded society of the future. Like his fellow Reds, he works all day, believing that he and his people are making the surface of Mars livable for future generations.
Yet he spends his life willingly, knowing that his blood and sweat will one day result in a better world for his children.
But Darrow and his kind have been betrayed. Soon he discovers that humanity already reached the surface generations ago. Vast cities and sprawling parks spread across the planet. Darrow—and Reds like him—are nothing more than slaves to a decadent ruling class.
Inspired by a longing for justice, and driven by the memory of lost love, Darrow sacrifices everything to infiltrate the legendary Institute, a proving ground for the dominant Gold caste, where the next generation of humanity's overlords struggle for power. He will be forced to compete for his life and the very future of civilization against the best and most brutal of Society's ruling class. There, he will stop at nothing to bring down his enemies... even if it means he has to become one of them to do so.
If there are no problems I would love to post this on YouTube and continue the entire series but it might just be for us as a team to enjoy once we’re done.
My idea is that every character is voiced by their voice actor, and the plot is narrated by whoever’s point of view it is. So the main characters (of course) will have a lot more lines to do.
I would prefer to communicate on Discord - SoulEaterGroot#2476
Currently taking this one chapter at a time, once we get the main cast and get the ball rolling it should go faster. So if all the rolls are filled check back for updates and a Discord server is in process!
If anyone is interested in animating??? Possibly??? Let me know.
Working on two audiobooks at the moment, be sure to check out my other project!
*I am constantly adding new characters as we work through this project! Please remember to come back!*
Another note, Darrow is the narrator for this entire book, later on in the series it changes, so this means for any role that isn’t Darrow you don’t have to read the actions if they’re in the lines, that will be for Darrow.

This dude basically reads the whole book so prepare yourself.
Not sure how to describe him because there’s a lot so here’s a link to the wiki. Skim through and you should have an idea on how you want to play the part. Im not picky and open to everyone’s interpretation.

You do not follow me because I am the strongest. Pax is. You do not follow me because I am the brightest. Mustang is. You follow me because you do not know where you are going. I do.
I live for the dream that my children will be born free. That they will be what they like. That they will own the land their father gave them.'
'I live for you,' I say sadly.
She kisses my cheek. 'Then you must live for more.I'm a sheep wearing wolves' clothing in a pack of wolves
Narol was Darrow's paternal uncle and Dale's brother. He was a drunkard, and as HeadTalk, was considered rather cowardly, constantly stopping operations to check if there was gas and breaking many drill bits in the process. According to Darrow, his excessive caution arose from the fear for his and others' lives after Dale's death.
Old enough to screw, old enough to crew.
Death chewed on me a bit. Then spat my bloody ass back out. Said there was killing that needed doin’ and some wild blood of mine that needed savin’
Loran, shut up about the Laurel. Hit the gas and we’ll miss all the bloodydamn Laurels to kingdom come, boy
Short, basically just talks a buncha smack. He’s Narol’s friend/coworker
*chuckling* “What’s the burn, the little Helldiver asks.”
“A year on the drill and he thinks he knows his head from his hole! Poor little pissant,” old Barlow adds dryly. “Remember the words of our golden leader. Patience and obedience, young one. Patience is the better part of valor. And obedience the better part of humanity. Listen to your elders.”
“Want to make Eo a widow?” Barlow laughs, voice crackling with static. “Okay by me. She is a pretty little thing. Drill into that pocket and leave her to me. Old and fat I be, but my drill still digs a dent.”
Darrow’s Brother
Listen to Uncle Narol, Darrow. Better to back off till we can get a reading,
(Still working on lines, don’t be afraid to audition with the one I got)
Another guy, Darrows cousin
“I say make the scan yourself,” Loran, my cousin and Narol’s son, squawks. “Don’t and Gamma is good as Gold—they’ll get the Laurel for, oh, the hundredth time.”
She was idealistic and inspiring to most. For most of the books we see her through Darrow's rose colored lenses and she is portrayed as a one dimensional, perfectly pure, do no wrong girl with an amazing capacity for kindness. Later on, we see Darrow realizing that this wasn't Eo's reality. Eo was so much more than that. She was a young girl who could be spiteful and petty despite her kindness.
Emptiness is life without freedom. Emptiness is living chained by fear, fear of loss, of death.
I’m sorry. It’s just… we ARE in chains, Darrow. We are not colonists. Well, sure we are. But it’s more on the spot to call us slaves. We beg for food. Beg for Laurels like dogs begging for scraps from the master’s table.
A talking puppet, are you? Spitting out their bloodydamn lies. Your father had the right of it. He might not have been perfect, but he had the right of it.
A very stoic man, he was said to be a mite cold by Lorn au Arcos. Darrow perceived him to think himself above morality and concepts of good and evil: putting concerns for humanity's survival above all else. However, he is not entirely without emotion, as demonstrated by his reactions to his two heirs' deaths. As with most Golds, he is deeply calculatingly and manipulative.
Supposedly doesn't like to eat anything he didn't kill with his own razor.
Every time he returned to Mars from another moon or planet, he performed the Iron Circle over Mars to show who owned it.
"Darrow, Lancer of House Augustus. Rise, there are duties for you to fill. Rise, there are honors for you to take. Rise for glory, for power, for conquest and dominion over lesser men. Rise, my son. Rise."
"This school is not life. Here you are king. In life, there are no kings. There are many would be kings. But we Peerless lay them low."
"Steel is power. Money is power. But of all the things in all the worlds, words are power."
She only has a couple lines
“blisters have not yet become calluses.”
Sarcastic "I'm better than you" attitude.
-teasing/sarcastic
“Saw you had an exciting day, darling.”
“Brave hero now, are you, Darrow? I always thought
you’d be a brave hero.”“And you think you’re smart, doncha?”
“Say hello to your little birdie for me. A ripe thing for
piggin’.” “Even for a Ruster.”“Ain’t that a thing,” he chuckles. “Wait, where you going?” “A bow to your betters won’t go awry, doncha think?”
You only need to read his speaking parts, we have a narrator.
Cocky
“Don’t know,” he drawls.
“Don’t care. Raw count never matters, Lambda."“Still won’t win,” Dago drawls “Darrow’s a young
pup, but he is smart enough to know that. Ain’t you, Darrow?”“You sure ’bout that?”
“This is you,” (he's burning something)
this is said very cocky like you thought that number couldnt be beat.
“Nine thousand eight hundred and twenty-one kilos,”
This is said on a speech over a tv
“Since the dawn of man, our saga as a species has been one of tribal
warfare. It has been one of trial, one of sacrifice, one of daring to defy
nature’s natural limits. Now, through duty and obedience, we are united, but
our struggle is no different. Sons and daughters of all Colors, we are asked to
sacrifice yet again. Here in our finest hour, we cast our best seeds to the stars.
Where first shall we flourish? Venus? Mercury? Mars? The Moons of
Neptune, Jupiter?”“You brave Red pioneers of Mars—strongest of the human breed—sacrifice
for progress, sacrifice to pave the way for the future. Your lives, your blood,
are a down payment for the immortality of the human race as we move
beyond Earth and Moon. You go where we could not. You suffer so that others
do not.“I salute you. I love you. The helium-3 that you mine is the life-blood of the
terraforming process. Soon the red planet will have breathable air, livable
soil. And soon, when Mars is habitable, when you brave pioneers have made
ready the red planet for us softer Colors, we will join you and you will be held
in highest esteem beneath the sky your toil created. Your sweat and blood
fuels the terraforming!
“Brave pioneers, always remember that obedience is the highest virtue.
Above all, obedience, respect, sacrifice, hierarchy …”
