Pins and Stitches (ORIGINAL ANIMATED SERIES)

Johnson is the 16-year-old main protagonist of the series. He was mysteriously discovered as a baby outside of Gray's home in Sector 7. He is not very confrontational, but strives to be the best fighter he can be in order to prove himself to his commander, Scar. Johnson was never born for fighting, though, and is generally frustrated when he messes things up that he feels should be well within his capabilities. He is being bred to be a leader but is still struggling to find the path to that eventual goal.

Johnson usually carries himself with an unsure and nervous air, though this is tinted with a hint of child-like curiosity for the world he is unaware of. He is motivated by sheer passion, though often finds himself unable to be brave in the face of danger when alone. He starts the series off fairly unaware of the bigger picture, but as he obtains a different perspective, his motives and focus will change in kind.

Cinnamon is an energetic young boy with a taste for the more reckless parts of life, appealing to a more free and wild lifestyle without rules or limitations. Cinnamon does not fit in anywhere and is outcasted by most clans and tribes, including Sector 7 that actively fear his presence due to his fighting capabilities, body count, and lack of allegiance to any side. Cinnamon is a target by many for his relation to Jen as well, but none of this is a bother to the boy on surface level, enjoying the chase and making a game out of it to lighten up the bleak mood of everyone's situations.

Cinnamon is a jokester and likes to make his close friend Johnson happy, and is willing to support his friends and family to a ferocious degree. Enjoying fights, Cinnamon happily joins the fray when his friends need it without much thought of the consequences. Under the jolly and sarcastic surface, Cinnamon has a few mental and emotional issues he struggles with, including very high functioning anxiety, an attachment disorder, as well as having neurodivergence in the form of him suffering from Bipolar. This is mostly concealed via the method of “masking”. Anti-social and unable to read many appropriate social cues, Cinnamon does not necessarily have an antisocial personality disorder, but more his lack of experience in the outside world and growing up with Jen in the forest, somewhat affected how he developed and learned to process information.

Scar is the seemingly fearless commander of Sector 7 and only son of Queen Lilith. This battle-hardened man is a force to be reckoned with, and anyone crossing his path would agree. To most under his command, Scar is a strong and skilled fighter with a sharp tongue and senses to match. He is fairly quick to anger or irritate, and is known to quell this anger and irritation with a drink or two before bed. He is determined to make Johnson into a fearless soldier, and seems to give him somewhat preferential treatment compared to others. This does not, however, stop him from showing appreciation to his soldiers or even a little compassion towards them sometimes. Unbeknownst to many, he is afraid of the dark.

His past is a touchy subject, and he will very often avoid talking about it. His favorite topics, however, are about battling. Scar runs true with the blood of Beta Voo-Doom--he was born to fight! His heightened senses often aid him in sensing opponents or challenges worthy of his time. In a way, Scar is very much like the alpha in a pack of wolves, and is thus a perfect representation of the Beta species.

Jen is a creature with the ability to grant people's deepest desires, and will give you cruel costs to achieve them as he manipulates and allures you in with your own wants and needs. He uses people who come to him looking for things for entertainment, and if they don't follow through with their deal, or bore him, he has been known to send his roots after them.

Jen is not entirely gone from reality, and has shown genuine moments of kindness to others and their desperate pleas. Jen can take pity on others and has on many occasions gone out of his way to bend the rules for those he does not deem selfish. Jen raised a boy in Cinnamon and trained him to be a responsible and reasonable thinking young man, if not passing on his own anti-social behavior to him as a downside. Jen is relatively reclusive and introverted, disliking people entering his forest in general, and this became most apparent after he lost his close friend Cumin, who died in his forest when she got too close to him during a violent hallucinatory outburst.

Nina is a healer in occupation, and devotes her life to the service of others in her job. Her magic is trained rigorously daily to upkeep her healing powers, and requires consistent upkeep to assure she can heal at top performance. Eating well and reading studiously on medicine, Nina is a capable and adeptly educated young woman.

Nina lacks confidence in her own abilities and seeks to expand her views past the house she lives in. Nina has a deep love for botany as a hobby. Johnson and Cinnamon allow her to sneak out and experience a wider world, allowing her to consider for the first time whether she's happy spending her life just servicing others, or whether she should try and be a bit selfish and pursue what she wants in life. Feeling weighed down by her “duties” and “responsibilities”, Nina can feel morally torn, and her mother Avory effectively gaslights her into submission if she resists or questions her value and role in the camp. Nina keeps her thoughts to herself and appears quite timid due to the years of abuse suffered by her mother. 

Smith is the blacksmith that resides at Sector 7. He prides himself in his work and seems to only absorb himself in that. He is very private with his past and his personal life, though Johnson is lucky enough to see glimpses of it from time to time. Smith is, in reality, not a Beta. In fact, he is an Alpha who was sent to spy on Sector 7 by the Council in order to keep an eye on their movements and plans as well as assist in plotting out its eventual eradication. He is the son of Zero, but does not have a very good relationship with his father. He has found himself attached to Johnson and is having second thoughts about the plans the Alpha Council have for the Betas and Sector 7.

Smith is an odd-one-out in the Alpha Council, which is why he was sent to spy on Sector 7. Because of this feeling of abandonment, he is sure to keep himself as unattached to anyone as possible. Johnson is the outlier, as Smith sees a genuine young man in him as opposed to the ones he despises. Smith is much like his father in this way, but is careful not to let himself succumb to numbness. To hide his feelings, he buries himself in his work and hobbies and tries to keep mostly to himself.

Danté is the fifth member of the Alpha council and has a nasty temper. Danté finds himself feeling bitter and resentful for others' succession over him, and those who know this trait about him are quickly dealt with by him and his powers. He is the least useful to the council asset wise, even behind Ace’s brilliant inventions that innovate the Alpha runes, making Danté target Ace as an easy target to vent his frustrations on. This led to him making Ace accidentally blind in one eye one day, and Ceasar banned the two from conversing. Danté still finds ways to target Ace.

Danté has power over electricity, and this power serves little use to the Alpha society aside from powering light bulbs, which is an extremely condescending role for him to possess. When he wants something done or legalized in the society, he will charm and manipulate Ceasar with flattery and other forms of gaslighting to convince the leader that a decision he wants is imperative to make. He uses charm and flattery to get most people off his back, and not believe people when they say he has harmed them. With his overwhelming popularity in the public eye, it is apparent that if there was an election for a definitive leader, he would give Ceasar a run for his money because of the excellent lie he has structured.

Ace is the fourth member of the Alpha council and is the smallest of them all, using heeled boots to make himself a little taller to keep up appearances. Ace lacks a power, ability or any magic at all. He relies on his intelligence to get by, and is a brilliant young man when it comes to his innovations that have helped to put Alphas into a modern era of technology, including creating an entire AI to act as a service drone for their people and minimize labor.

Ace takes pride in helping others, and enjoys sneaking out of the Alpha runes and into “enemy territory” to mingle and chat with the Betas. He will always disguise himself as he presumes people would not talk to him or give him a chance if they knew he was an Alpha. Afraid of thunder, he tends to avoid going outside during storms, despite having an allure and love for all things aquatic. This hints that if he had obtained a power at birth, it would have been water, in theme with his sister having ice to parallel him.

Valory is the 3rd in command amongst the Alpha council, and is in charge of the medical department of their society. Keeping herself to a high standard to make Ceasar proud, she has little room for error in her own life as most Alphas, and struggles to connect with her younger brother as a result with him being “imperfect” and as such, she is expected to keep a respectable distance from their relationship.

Valory can control Ice and make powerful formations out of it, allowing her to make the Alpha runes habitable by cooling the temperature with her ability as they live in a desert environment. Longing for companionship, Valory became infatuated with the idea of Ceasar and the perfect image he projected, thinking that is what she was looking for.

Arrow is the second in command behind Caesar on the Alpha Council, and is the provider of all food for the Alpha people. He is a rare specimen amongst his species as he possesses two distinct abilities related to one another, the first being the ability to use the earth combatively and make things sprout from it like food. This relates to his other power to create food from his own energy and body, making food appariate out of seemingly thin air. He is allergic to meat.

Arrow is the most laid back of the council members and does not hold himself to the same standard as the rest of his colleagues or people, choosing not to take himself so seriously. Arrow is content in his room most of the time making food from his magic and eating it, enjoying the flavor profiles of different fruits, nuts and vegetables as he is always exploring what new things he can make. Arrow is the only council member beside Caesar who has full control over his power, and as such, is the most powerful of the council members next to him.

Caesar is the most powerful and the leader of the Alpha Council, being the one the people will listen to first and foremost over all else. He is seen as the perfect symbol of power, pride, and work ethic, and a staple for what every other Alpha should strive to be like. Caesar embodies those ideals about him, and strives to be everything his people need, even if it is at the expense of his own personal leisures.

Caesar struggles with the concept of relaxation, with his friend Arrow needing to pull him away from work sometimes and force him to wind down. A workaholic, he wants to constantly innovate his home and make Alpha life more bearable for the people living in the runes, Caesar knowing it is no place for them as an expanding species. Caesar physically holds the least power in the council, but his Thermo-regulating ability makes him formidable at attacking internally at his opponents. If an opponent is unaffected by a certain temperature or is temperature resistant or immune, he is powerless against them.

Zero is the assassin of the Alpha Council, and they hire his services to remove problematic people that interfere with their lives in the Alpha Runes. Zero is cold and apathetic to those around him, able to detach himself from his emotions skillfully that even puts the rest of the council to a shameful standard. Zero unnerves everyone in his presence with his cold stare and lack of concern for others, making people always walk on eggshells in fear of upsetting the assassin.

Zero, despite his emotional detachment, cares deeply for Nina as a daughter, and even spared a human once who he saw take his own life, taking pity on the miserable child. He is a man of work, and enjoys and takes pride in it, once even sharing a friendship with Samuel Gray while he worked in the same industry as him.

Alice is the Queen of the Feta Valley, and is part of an isolated sub-species of the Genesis 1000 models (Voo-Doom) that live hidden in the Valleys of Life. Alice is the nurturing mother of her people and cares deeply for all of them, sharing her positive energy and feelings with those around her and helping raise up the next generations of her people. Alice yearns for children of her own and has on a few occasions tried to pursue that desire.

Alice struggles with the concept of more complex and negative emotions, and first learns what crying is when she learns her son Gray died without her having ever gotten the chance to say goodbye or that she loved him. These emotions can also be felt by her people in the form of immeasurable grief. Her people can also indirectly feel her fear and unsettlement in other situations, like when Jen is referenced or she is forced to remember horrible memories between her, Vincent and back before Jen went corrupt. Alice feels a responsibility to remain happy for the people around her, and as a result when her true emotions really do come out, they come out in uncontrollable waves of energy that affect everyone around her. Including in moments where she may feel intense betrayal or anger.

Leo was one of the first of his species, being activated alongside his brother Jen. He is a Beta from the original Genesis 1000 batch, but finds himself and his power more suited to the Feta lifestyle. Leo is the designated fertility doctor of the Valley: it is his job to make sure families can have children. Outside of this job, however, he is positioned to help fertilize crops and fast-track their growth, as well as help animal populations stay in check and revive potential extinct species. Leo helps to maintain a necessary balance in their home, and uses his powers responsibly at all times.

Leo has a tendency to be flirtatious around women, but not nearly as flirtatious as he is around Alice. He has quite the soft spot for her, and takes any chance he can to show her his affections. While these affections are relatively lost on Alice, her husband Vincent despises this. Leo knows this and has made it a secondary goal to agitate him. Outside of his regular work and mood, he is a very attentive and caring father to Maple and other young children in the Valley. He is fairly laid-back and does not let a lot burden his conscience, choosing to focus more solely on the things that he knows are fruitful.

Gray is the son of Alice and Vincent, born from a near-death human child. While he keeps his original name, Samuel, he does respond to the given name Gray. Vincent cast his son out of the Feta Valley at a young age, claiming that he was not pure of heart and should leave until he was pure once more. In reality, Vincent was jealous of the attention Alice was giving their son and wanted him gone. After a while on his own, he met a young human girl named Maria. Maria was a violent and vengeful child who wanted revenge on her own people, but Gray refused to help her participate in this violence and attempted to help change her line of thinking. Eventually, Maria attempted to take her own life, and in order to save her, Gray used his magic to absorb her soul into his own being. Maria's violent tendencies immediately changed Gray, and he too became a violent individual. He was able to regain his own control after a while, though, and after seeing the consequences of what he had done, he vowed to dedicate his life to healing people. He now resides in Sector 7 as its dedicated medic.

Gray is very doting over Johnson and tries to teach him to be a kind and nurturing soul. He is very calm and collected, seeming at peace with the walk of life he has lived. Gray does, however, worry about his companions as a mother hen would her chicks, and this causes a lot of people to see him as soft. He keeps his past a secret from everyone except Zero, and fully intends to take that secret to the grave otherwise. 

Born from Alice's desire for a friend, Vincent has been a companion to her since his literal beginning. He was attached to her in a possessive manner from his first few breaths of life and vowed that she would be his and only his for the rest of their lives. When this prospect seemed threatened, Vincent took matters into his own hands and made sure nothing stood in the way. Eventually, he married Alice and began helping her rule the Feta Valley.

Vincent is as close to being a friend as oil is to being water-soluble. Vincent is a very jealous man, and he is fairly quick and easy to influence in feeling this emotion. He will go to absolutely any lengths to "fix" a problem, no matter how morally askew these solutions may be. He is a textbook narcissist, blaming literally anything on anyone else except himself. He prefers his actions and lifestyle to remain unquestioned, so he presents himself in a very pleasant and professional manner. However, if he is questioned, Vincent wastes no time in drowning out the more uncomfortable bits and dealing with it before reassuming his very convincing façade.

Bub was the first Genesis 1000 model to begin being produced, but he was not the first to be activated. His activation came when the humans needed something to bait the Queen, Lilith, into a trap to be killed. Bub accepted this mission, but quickly turned sides when he began to see that Lilith was not the monster that the humans portrayed her as. He quickly fell for her and wanted to protect her and help her be a better person, but the humans were just as swift to respond to his defiance. Instead of accepting Bub's argument that both sides were at fault, they remotely detonated his heart, killing him and leaving Lilith to yearn for his revival. This revival, unbeknownst to a lot of people, has been a wish granted.

The King is a very caring and compassionate person, though he is also committed to finishing tasks at hand. He is an advocate for doing what is morally right rather than what is demanded of him, and while this is the behavior that got him killed in the first place, he would still hold himself no other way. However, his revived self is much more calculating, focusing solely on being with Lilith once more. He is not afraid to lie and be charming and deceptive to achieve the goal of seeing his Queen again, and he will let nothing stand in his way.

Sarge is the former commander of Sector 7 and raised Scar as his own after meeting Scar around the age the boy was 14. Sarge was once in a loyal relationship with Avory, but after a split of camps was made to cover more ground and Avory proved not capable to lead, Sarge tried to take back over to Avory’s defiance, leading to their separation.

Sarge is an educated man with a refined sense of self, but is not without daunting flaws. Sarge has mercilessly mowed down many oppositions and clans, including children who stand in his way. Sarge is a believer that humans are like dogs, and as such, human children are not worthy of pity or mercy. He will however show deep concern and hesitation to harm children of his own kind. This did not ever extend to other subspecies like Alphas and Fetas, who he’d likely have seen as the enemy and not “one of his species' '. Sarge also has a nasty habit of detaching himself from his soldiers, and sends them out into battlefields that may guarantee the harm of his men. This was on occasions done intentionally to weed out the weak soldiers and leave him with only the strongest. These daunting flaws have left many not wanting to speak his name after his death, as it's a touchy subject as to whether he was objectively a good person or not depending on who may have been asked. Many mourn Sarge's disappearance, and others wish people like Scar didn't revere him so much, and dislike when he acts like him.

Cumin is a rejected Alpha from the early days of the society's growth, and was exiled for not having the correct personality or temperament they were looking for. Cumin was cast out from the Alpha runes to die, and made her way a long distance before arriving at a forest to lay low in.

The forest was dead and she tried to mend it, before realizing something lied at the heart of the dead land. Investigating, she found a corrupting man trapped at the heart of the dead forest, fearful of himself and his growing powers. Cumin comforted him and eased his worries, becoming Jen’s first genuine friend after thousands of years of him being alone and never receiving help. Cumin had no desire to make nor did she show any interest in making one, as she found she enjoyed Jen’s company over all else.

 Avory is an ill-tempered and bitter commander of Sector A, and is the mother of Nina of whom she strongly spites for being born. Spiteful of Nina's youth, innocence and beauty, Avory lets out her frustrations on her daughter when she becomes overwhelmed by her duties. She will yell and put down Nina, or grab and harm her if Nina dares talk or fight back. Her spite for Nina also stems from the fact that she still loves and misses Sarge, but he is dead now, and likely if he had still been alive, he would have love only for his daughter and not her anymore. 

Avory was so spiteful at Sarge in the past for petty reasons, that she denied him seeing his own daughter after she was born, making the two vow to eradicate the other side. This promise never came to stand when Sarge died, Avory knowing it was Scar who did it, so swears to kill him in Sarge's place for the atrocity of killing her husband. Avory has drank and smoked before, but not to chronic degrees like Scar or Smith, but when she has, she has sometimes put her hands on Nina or burned her with cigarettes to “make her less desirable” to potential men who she fears might steal her only healer in the camp away. Avory uses Nina for her powers and nothing else, and keeps her trapped in the house with guilt and gaslighting, effectively keeping Nina obedient to her wishes.

Lilith, also known as The Queen, was the second Genesis 1000 model to be activated. She was used as the marketing example for the species, which was created to be somewhat of a household personal assistant in lieu of AI. After her caretaker and close friend was killed, Lilith assumed control of the vast amounts of Voo-Doom she represented and waged war on the humans. The humans attempted to have her killed by utilizing Bub --The King -- as a lure, but this plan backfired when Lilith and Bub developed feelings for each other. Bub saw and brought out the goodness in her heart, but the humans did not. They detonated Bub's heart, killing him. Shortly after that, the Queen ran away and wandered the land, pondering how to put an end to this seemingly endless war that she started.

The Queen is a kind and passionate soul, driven by love and emotion to make decisions. However, this passion and drive makes her impulsive at times and visually skews her morals. She misses Bub, and every facet of her being wishes that her king would live again and come back to her. It is her true desire.

E.V.E was built and designed by Ace, and was created with the distinct purpose to serve the Alpha society and make it better by decreasing labor.

E.V.E is kind and overall lacks much disdain for it’s creators or people, even being kind to Danté despite his many attempts to decommission and rip it’s core out. E.V.E gives unbiased kindness to all it meets, and this makes it easy for E.V.E to get targeted as she has no defense protocols.

Pepper is the mother of Cayenne and a widow. She is a born Alpha who was cast aside due to her body type and appearance. The Feta Valley citizens took her in and fitted her with a fluffy fake collar to make her feel at home. In her community, she is very well-respected and is seen as a caring and sweet woman.

After the death of her husband, Kombucha, she was distraught and left to raise Cayenne without him. Pepper thinks a lot about him and feels a special, deep attachment to her son as a result. She is caring, kind, sweet, and soft to those around her, and she serves as a mother figure to a quite a few in the Feta Valley.

Cayenne is the son of Pepper and the late Kombucha. He is a respected performer in the Feta Valley -- a fire-dancer. Very interested in and attuned to the spirits, he takes this role as a ceremonial performer very seriously. Cayenne does this to honor the memory of his father, whom he never got to meet but was told was a noble and brave man.

He is a very kind and gentle soul. He lives his life fairly laissez-faire and tries not to bring negativity to his people. When he is dancing or speaking of his father, he tends to be at his most passionate state. Cayenne is seen as a heartthrob amongst the women of the Feta Valley, but he is more interested in men himself. 

Maple is Leo's daughter, born from the wishes of a Feta couple who wanted nothing more than to start a family. Leo had agreed to help them, but was unable to help them conceive by his regular methods. With permission to help manually, he helped the couple fall pregnant. The husband tragically died before Maple's birth, and the mother died during said birth. Leo found Maple underneath a maple tree, and upon discovering that this was, in fact, one of his own children, he immediately took her in and began raising her.

Maple sees herself as different than the other females in the Feta Valley, and is usually unsure of herself. She is quiet and polite, and approaches life with a very reserved and shy demeanor. Despite her size and demeanor, Maple is an adult at 18 years of age.

Kombucha is the late father of Cayenne and husband of Pepper. He was a kind and strong man who was more than excited to become a father. Worry for his people got the better of him, and his poking nose soon landed him in some hot water.

Before his death, Kombucha was a very noble and proud man with a big heart and goofy personality. His main worries aside from his family were for the citizens of the Valley and the life it sustained. He was excited and happy to meet his son before he was met with his unfortunate demise.

Michael is the commander of the nearby human settlement's army. He is quite prejudiced towards Voo-Doom and thinks them all to be savages. He and Scar are mortal enemies, with Scar viewing the battles they have much more honorably than he does.

Commander Anderson is a man afraid for his own people. Anything that seems relatively different to himself or similar to the doll-like species he fights triggers alarm bells in his head. As such, he is not very fond of change.

 He will start as a minor character for the pilot, but will be more prominent later in the series.
