Persona 1 Manga Fandub
Project Overview
Hello Everyone! This is a new project which will be a Manga Dub of Megami Ibunroku: Persona which is adaptation of the game of the same name. You may also know this as the game that started the popular Persona series that includes titles like Persona 3 and Persona 4. The Dub will include Voices, Sound Effects, and Music which will make the Manga more of an entertaining read and a little more like the game it's based off of.
Plot:
Megami Ibunroku: Persona centers around Naoya Toudou and his classmates at St. Hermelin High School in Mikage-cho. Hidehiko Uesugi talks all of his friends into playing a game called "Persona", which is played much like the ritual game "Bloody Mary". While playing, the students lose consciousness and meet Philemon, who gives them the ability to summon reflections of their personalities, which are known as Personas. A short time later, the protagonist and several of his friends go to visit Maki Sonomura, who is ill and bed-ridden. During their visit, they discover that the town is changing and demons are roaming the streets. The party is told by Maki's mother, an engineer working for SEBEC, that the culprit behind the incident is Takahisa Kandori, president of the company. And It is up to Naoya and his friends with their new found abilities to get to the bottom of this case.
If you're going to be trying out for any of the roles... Go for your own unique take. Unlike Persona 3 and Persona 4 which had pretty established voices Persona 1 doesn't really have any besides small vocal parts in Battles and Small Cutscenes. So go for what you think is best for the character you're trying out for.
As for Soundtrack I'll be using tracks from mostly the PSP version of the game along with tracks from the PS1 version of the game, arrangements, and maybe some tracks from other Persona and Shin Megami Tensei games.
If you're going to audition be sure to:
-Have a Decent to Good Quality Mic
-Be Respectful
and
-Have Fun
Good Luck with your auditions and if you have any questions message me or email me at: [redacted] :)
P.S. More roles will be added at a later date.

He is the resident class clown of St. Hermelin, relying on stupid puns and old man jokes to get attention. Hidehiko pesters his classmates to try out the game "Persona" in order to impress them, but Masao Inaba doesn't believe that it will actually work. They both hold a bet, with the loser having to treat everyone who was dragged into it at the Peace Diner. Masao thinks that he won at first, because nothing happened after the ritual. Hidehiko complains, saying that Masao didn't try hard enough when it was his turn to perform. But then a crying young girl appears, and they are all hit by flashes of lightning that send them to the border of consciousness and unconsciousness.
If you wanna know the future, just leave it to the Great Brown!
Yo! Congratulations on returning alive and well!
Nanjo and Mark... Are at Sebec... They completely outnumbered us...
Reiji Kido is an antisocial transfer student of St. Hermelin who rarely shows up for class. It is later revealed if he is picked as a party member that he is the son of Kandori's father and his mistress. He blames his half-brother Takahisa Kandori for how his life has turned out, and believes that the latter must die. To this end, Reiji skulks around the SEBEC facility, waiting for a chance to confront Kandori. Despite his brusque tendencies, many girls of St. Hermelin take quite a shine to him. When not wandering the streets, Reiji often practices magic tricks with playing cards in his spare time.
I didn't do it to help you guys... I have no idea why you guys are here, but get out of my sight.
Where's that bastard!? I'm talking about Kandori!
Gimme a break I'm not lost goddammit! Y'all are a bunch of noisy and annoying people...
She was an ex-yanki who was reformed thanks to the efforts of her teacher Saeko Takami. Though she hasn't shed her yankī looks just yet, Yukino is well-recognized and trusted by the student body, acting as a mother figure of sorts to her friends.
You guys are annoying me. Look, let's work quickly and put things in order! I've gotta be out of here by evening, cause I've got my part-time job!
Well I gotta admit... The only people in this school who aren't completely nuts are the principal and the teachers.
I'm not wasting my time with stuff like this...
A somewhat shallow girl who doesn't think about the future and prefers to live in the moment. She is extremely blunt about her feelings, especially when something displeases her. Yuka is indifferent to other people's suffering, but will lash out and complain childishly when something affects her. She is a bad student, but despite her bad grades, Yuka has a natural ability for observation. She also makes use of kokalgo (kogal slang), which was translated to valley girl slang in the American version of the game.
Hey... Hey, Toudou... Dammit, stop ignoring me! Toudou! Toudou Naoya!
Huh? Inaba, that's some quality work there.
If something happens to you, I don't care!
The Antagonist of Persona 1. Takahisa Kandori is a former graduate and student council president of St. Hermelin High School and in the present the head of the Mikage-cho branch of SEBEC, which is used as a front to further development of the DEVA System. Using the reality-altering system, Kandori enters Maki Sonomura's mind, allowing him to make contact with her malevolent Id, Aki, through which he is able to gain control over half of Mikage-cho.
It appears our undesirable guests have finally arrived.
Light has its role, Shadows have their role... that's just the way it is...
Nyarlathotep!
For the most part, in the game anyway, the protagonist is silent, and his personality is controlled by the player, setting up a pattern the protagonists of later games would follow. However, the decisions that lead to the game's true ending and the gaining of the Ultimate Personas paint the protagonist as a natural leader; a compassionate, perceptive, yet blunt person who is motivated to seek his personal reason for life and discourages hiding from the truth. In the manga, Naoya also inherited this same trait, though since he is mostly quiet and going along with everyone else, the rest of the party are surprised when he shows his hot-headed side while leading them.
You've got it all wrong... I did it myself.
One-sided bets are boring.
Persona!
What little is shown of his personality is displayed in the Persona games and media. In most incarnations, Philemon serves as a neutral observer and he watches as things unfold. He has a benevolent view of humanity, frequently pulling the protagonists of Megami Ibunroku Persona to give advice. At the same time, due to his nature as an otherworldly being of the Collective Unconscious, he does not have exactly the same world views and values as humans, as shown by his willingness to wager their existence on their strength of heart.
Welcome... Allow me to introduce myself. I am Philemon... Someone that exists between the space of conciousness and unconciousness.
Are you aware that within you lie multiple versions of yourself? That's right... A "you" that is as kind as a god, a "you" that is as cruel as a demon... People live wearing many masks.
In recognition for your strong will, I shall bestow you... "Persona".
Normal Maki is a serene, quiet girl who takes simple pleasures such as painting or just being with her friends, and in her youth her poor health made her profoundly unhappy, as it denied her most of these simple delights; as a result of Takahisa Kandori's experimentation, her whole self was splintered into several personality fragments. She has been mostly sick all of her life, bedridden and suffers from episodic fits of dementia. When she's not in too much pain, she often paints disturbing still-life pictures, escapes into her "Ideal" world, and waits for her friends to come visit her.
Hey! Whatcha doin' there, Naoya?
What's with the sudden question? Why would you ask something like that?
That kind of person... Is not my mother!
Aside from her outwardly feminine hobbies, Eriko was also interested in the occult. Because of this, she was excited to once again do the demon-summoning game "Persona" that her classmates were pulled into because of Masao and Hidehiko's silly bet. Eriko played along despite having done the game prior to see how her classmates would react to the result. She was nonetheless shocked to see her classmates forcibly sent to the realm bordering consciousness and unconsciousness after being hit by lightning. She expresses overly-ecstatic enthusiasm over the fact that her Persona is the "Goddess of Victory". Sometimes her love for the supernatural and experiencing new things related to it clouds her judgment of what is dangerous or not.
Even now, I have confidence in my sword skills. A "Demon" or two will be "no problem"!
Yukino, you really like the Teacher don't you?
Oh... Persona-Sama sounds splendid. Is it always successful?
Masao "Mark" Inaba is a goofy troublemaker but also a friendly student who is friends with Kei Nanjo and the Naoya Toudou. Masao frequently visits Maki Sonomura in the hospital, and has seemingly developed a crush on her. He is also depicted as the mood maker of the group.
You can't stop me! I need to hurry up and save Sonomura!
I always wanted to get a job doing this kind of stuff... it's not like you can know what's gonna happen in your future, though...
This is bad... What if we all hit our heads and went nuts?!
Kei was forced to join in on the demon summoning game "Persona", which was started by a couple of his classmates. Kei chooses to just watch, as he doesn't really care about the result and feels that everyone was just feeding Masao and Hidehiko's stupid squabbles. Kei is the most logical member of the group, this being both a good and a bad thing. At points in the story, Kei might suggest something that may seem to be morally wrong. However, these extreme choices are usually seen negatively by the rest of the party. Even with his seemingly collected and oftentimes stiff personality, he still has some solitary weaknesses. While his parents are often away on business, Kei is looked after by Yamaoka, the Nanjo family butler. Since then he seems to have grown up under Yamaoka's watch, he considers him as more of a father figure than a servant. His distinctive trademark scarf with the number 1 printed on it symbolizes his desire to become the number 1 man in Japan.
If your explanations are as simple as that, there's really no meaning in holding class at all.
To the extent that... Ahh, sorry, this is too much for the monkey, isn't it?
But since we all had the same dream... It bothers me. "Heh... How stupid" is what I'd like to say.
