Project Overview

This game is a vertically scrolling 2D classic-style shoot 'em up (SHMUP)  depicting an epic battle through hell. The protagonist meets some colorful characters along the way, and ultimately must battle his way out or die in Hell and remain there forever.

Payment: I will pay my actors 50-100 dollars depending on the amount of rewrites and revisions I end up doing. If selected, you'll make no less than 50 bucks. It's not much, but I will also make sure to credit you in the game, and mention you in social media advertisements leading up to release.

  • Kyle role has been changed/fixed!

    Hello! Firstly, I really appreciate the auditions that have come in! Rest assured I am listening to every single one of them.

    Also, I want it to be known that the role of Kyle was originall posted as an "acting" role, not "voice acting". This was a mistake on my part and caused the audition process to require sending links to your portfolios, and while I appreciate the few that did go through the trouble of doing that, I have since closed that role and created a new one for Kyle that is set up for voice acting like the others where you can audition normally. Some have already noticed this and put in their audition, but if you haven't, feel free to!

Kyle is the main protagonist of the game. An adult male. mid-30's. Not old, but not young. He has seem some sh*t, and has the checkered past to prove it.

- He is a highly decorated space fighter pilot in the far future with many missions and successes under his belt for his age.

- Very ambitious, smart, and proficient. Not cocky though. There is a slight darkness or cynical edge to his personality (think solid snake from Metal Gear Solid). As the game progresses, he is revealed to have some deep regrets and self-loathing that he has to work through.

Audio quality must be good. I don't really care what equipment you use, but if your audio quality is bad I cannot consider your audition.

SARA is a sentient A.I. that has been with the main protagonist, a highly decorated fighter pilot with a checkered past, for his entire career. She knows him well, and is more like an old friend to him than an assistant. They exchange barbs at times and she usually ends up being his "better half" as it were.

Feel free to inject *some* personality into it. A balance between sentience and machine should be struck, so use your best judgement for where on that spectrum you think the voice for SARA belongs. I'm open to interpretation!

Also feel free to use interesting effects if you think it makes sense. She is an A.I. voice speaking through a ship's speakers after all.

Audio quality must be good. I can do some processing on my end, but if your quality isn't decent then I cannot consider your audition. Thanks!

Paimon is a somewhat mysterious and potentially mischevious demon who tags along with the protagonist on his journey through Hell. He offers some exposition at times but also has his own history and agenda. Sort of similar to the role Mimir plays in the new God of War games.

- Conniving, witty, indignant, bitter.
- Not particularly comical, but he will occasionally crack a joke or two.
- He has no real respect for humans, but with Kyle he sees a path to achieve his own goals.

I imagine him with a well-spoken, maybe even trans atlantic style accent. But feel free to do different takes if you think you have a good idea for something else!

Your audio quality must be good. I don't really care what equipment you use, but if your audio is too quiet, full of backgroung noise, or bad in some other way, I simply can't consider your audition.

Xyra is an important character, as she is formally the protagonists rival from long ago, but now is learning to put their differences aside for the good of a larger cause. She is a highly skilled general for her people; a somewhat more primal space faring race that are behind humans in terms of technology, but far ahead of them in terms of their ability to work together and form meaningful bonds.

- Brave, loyal, intelligent, badass. (Think Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn)
- She has a bad history with the main protagonist, but also the capacity to see beyond that.

- She loves her people, and would do anything to protect them.


I don't have a specific voice in mind for her, so feel free to experiment! Just nothing too high-pitched or childish. Xyra is an adult woman who has been through a lot, so no cartoony/anime girl voices please.

Audio quality must be good! I can do some processing on my end, but I need to be sure you can deliver quality audio for the project.
