"Once Upon a Wasteland" is a multi-award-winning audio fiction podcast that takes place in the world of Bethesda Game Systems' Fallout 76.
This episode is part of a limited-run series titled "Paths Untaken," which allows writers to explore stories outside the show's canon. "Escape from Point Pleasant" was written by Preston Hardin, creator of "True Vault Escapades.

"Big Sheila" is a former Raider turned ruthless leader of the Cult of the Mothman. Sheila is a formidable force with a reputation that precedes her. Her past as a Raider informs her brutal, no-nonsense approach to leadership, where she combines the fanaticism of her cult with the savagery of her Raider days. She is intelligent, calculating, and deeply loyal to the Mothman, believing in the supernatural with an almost religious fervor.
Sheila is a complex antagonist who walks the line between cult leader and warlord, using her charisma and raw power to command respect and fear. Her voice should convey her authority and unpredictability, with a touch of dark humor that underscores her menace.

Erwin Jeffries is a man who has seen more than his fair share of the Wasteland's dangers. Though not a hero by any means, Erwin is resourceful and quick-thinking when his survival is on the line. His life has been one of constant stress, and it shows in his weary demeanor and cautious behavior.
Erwin is thrust into a dire situation when Sheila and her cultists invade the Cow Spots Creamery, forcing him to rely on his wits to stay alive. Despite his initial cowardice, Erwin shows a surprising level of survival instinct. He’s not a fighter, but he’s not entirely helpless either; he’s the kind of guy who’s learned to navigate the Wasteland by avoiding trouble rather than confronting it.
