OMORI: BLACK BOOTH - Reauditions
Project Overview
Link to first auditions: https://www.castingcall.club/projects/voiceover-omori
Welcome to the reauditions for OMORI: BLACK BOOTH. This casting call is for characters that were not cast in the first round of auditions, along with some other characters that we did not have on the original casting call page.
Auditions from the original casting call will still be considered for a role. That means you won't need to resubmit an audition here if you've already done one for the previous page. Though, it doesn't hurt to try again with the new directions given for each of the roles.
Read every role carefully, as new information may have been added to each. Your chances of getting these roles are much higher if you are accurate to what we are looking for.
Rules:
-
You must include your age in the notes of your submission. Not including your age will immediately reject your submission. You may comment your age on your submission if you forget. If your audition has already been rejected for this reason, please resubmit your audio with your age and we will reconsider the audio. - Anyone is allowed to audition regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexuality, etc. We only want to know your age.
- Auditions must be submitted to this Casting Call Club page, or through Discord to Lacklustrr#1569
- If you are cast for a role, you must have a Discord account to keep up to date with announcements and further information.
- You have either played OMORI or have seen a playthrough of the story and know enough to understand the plot and characters. While not required, it is highly recommended.
- Your audio must be clear and have good quality. Auditions with echo, peaking, background noise etc. will likely not be considered. There are some exceptions to this rule for certain characters.
- Many characters and items are capitalized in OMORI. Do not voice them as if they are shouting the word.
-
Your audio should not be modified with voice changers. If you wish to edit your audio to remove unwanted lip smacking and awkward pauses that's acceptable. - Do not slate your auditions. This will make reviewing your audio much faster.
When you are logged in, you can comment, add submissions, create projects, upvote, search open roles, and way more. Login here.
During his youth, HERO is the peacemaker of the group, who tries to restrain his friends whenever they get too worked up. He is described as having a mild personality and passionate in domestic work like baking, cooking and cleaning, making him an ideal employee. HERO also has a charismatic side that he uses to charm others. His charisma allows him to convince others to go along with his requests, get discounts from MAILBOX and befriend animals like EMS. However, he can sometimes be a pushover when confronted, and has difficulty refusing others. He also appears to have arachnophobia (an irrational fear of spiders) to the point of freezing up completely.
HEADSPACE HERO has a mild personality. Being the oldest, he is the role-model of the group and therefore has more of a mature tone compared to his friends.
HERO is around 15 years old. His voice can be anywhere from low to medium pitched, but he should not sound like an adult.
This is the voice of REAL WORLD HERO: https://www.castingcall.club/auditions/2431616
We are looking for a voice that sounds younger than this.
The HEADSPACE HERO we are looking for should not be nervous in the delivery of his lines. He is confident and more mature in his delivery compared to his friends. He wears his emotions on his sleeve, but he doesn't have much to hide either.
Additionally, HERO is meant to be a charmer so his voice should reflect that. However, this property shouldn't be overexaggerated(Except in line 1).
[Line 0]: HERO often asks OMORI questions that the player can respond to. As such, he should have a somewhat neutral delivery for this line.
[Line 1]: This is HERO trying to get someone to do something. He should be more charismatic than usual here, but not to the point where he's overcompensating. His charisma should be endearing.
[Line 2]: HERO does not want to hurt the feelings of others. Having to reject SWEETHEART, despite her rudeness, is something he would rather not do(He's a bit of a crowd pleaser). And so, HERO should sound somewhat reluctant.
"MARI and BASIL invited us for a picnic at the playground! Did you want to go see them?" (Neutral, friendly tone)
"Ahem... Greetings, Sir CONVEYOR-BOT. My companions and I require your assistance in changing the directions of your conveyors. Will you and your friends please help us?" (Charismatic)
"Sigh... Why do I have to do this?" (Whispering to self)
"Ahem...I'm sorry, SWEETHEART, but... I'm... not... interested..."
The SPACE PIRATES are loyal and care for CAPT. SPACEBOY’s wellbeing, and are happy to hear the news of him reverting to his old self. They have a collective disdain for SWEETHEART, as she was the catalyst for CAPT. SPACEBOY’s decision to stop traveling
Multiple actors will be cast for this role.
The SPACE PIRATES should sound like dudebros. They're SPACE BOYFRIEND's hype men and care genuinely for his wellbeing.
Feel free to make multiple takes with different types of voices!
"It's so nice to have the CAPTAIN back! Yeah, buddy!" (Enthusiastic)
"What you did back there was really brave. I would never challenge the CAPTAIN like that... You would all make seriously awesome SPACE PIRATES."
"Sniff... I knew the CAPTAIN would come back... Welcome home, CAPTAIN." (Tearful)
Though rather begrudgingly, SPROUT MOLE MIKE co-hosts the show SWEETHEART'S QUEST FOR HEARTS alongside SWEETHEART herself. Before the show begins, he pays respects for their fallen leader, YE OLD SPROUT. He calls out each contestant and briefly describes their hobbies and height as well as their hometown. Afterwards, he begins to read off a script only to be fatally interrupted by a lightning strike and blackout. When the blackout is fixed, he pays respects to contestant #3, a native of OTHERWORLD by the name of SNALEY. Afterwards, he is shoved aside by SWEEHEART making her debut, eventually leaving the stage to her.
After dealing with the dilemma of being locked in THE DUNGEON, OMORI and friends can interact with him at CLUB SANDWICH on TWO DAYS LEFT after retrieving HERO from MR. JAWSUM. He is shown to be in a depressed state, presumably after drinking FRUIT JUICE?, and complains about SPACE BOYFRIEND getting all of the attention instead of him.
In both ORANGE OASIS in the DONUT HOUSE bookcase and shown clearly as PESSI'S THING (ITEM), SPROUT MOLE MIKE is shown hanging out with SWEETHEART at the beach. Due to the redness of his face, it is safe to assume he wishes to be noticed more by SWEETHEART.
SPROUT MOLE MIKE should have a showrunner's voice. His tone could be anywhere from low to mid range.
Examples of what he could sound like:
Markiplier - https://youtu.be/iOztnsBPrAA
Intrusive Thoughts(Inside Job) - https://youtu.be/4NOV-lHXc2E (Mention of self-harm trigger warning)
"Ladies and gentlemoles... Welcome to a special episode of... 'SWEETHEART'S QUEST FOR HEARTS'"
"It is at this time we announce the sudden loss of CONTESTANT #3... We will remember him fondly for the few seconds that we got to know him. He was a unique and irreplaceable soul."
"BUT THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!"
"CONTESTANT #2 is... Yup, you guessed it! Also a local of SPROUT MOLE VILLAGE! Careful! He's coming in hot at three-feet-and-one-whole-inch! His hobbies include walking, running, and crawling!"
DINO appears to be optimistic and cheerful when speaking, always offering to explain the rules of DINO'S DIG if the player needs to know the rules. He hands out POTATO SPOONS free of charge if no other spoon has been purchased. He has a tendency to call things "DINO-TASTIC!", typically when they regard his attraction.
"Hey there, little adventurers! Welcome to DINO'S DIG! I'm DINO, the founder of DINO'S DIG!"
"DINO-TASTIC!!"
"There you go! Right on, brother! You're a quick learner, aren't you?"
Despite his old age, J. SHROOM is eager to teach anyone he sees worthy of learning his special technique. He also appears to express great faith in OMORI's talent in using his knife to cut open specific objects.
J. SHROOM is elderly, so he should sound like an old man!
"You! Bulbous one! Your eyes... They tell me that you yearn to learn!"
"Excellent! Excellent, excellent, excellent... I will teach you. Come."
"However, this technique takes years, perhaps even decades, to master! If you agree to learn it, there's no telling how long this will take!"
REUBEN is a friendly individual, showing a warm demeanor towards the group and offering them GRAPE SODA to help take off their load in times of stress. He is shown to be quite big-hearted through his casual conversations with the party when speaking to him. He also occasionally talks about his partner HOAGIE, mentioning that he understands him greatly and both share a strong bond with each other. This even extends to the point of describing themselves as a "match made in heaven".
"Me and HOAGIE are the owners of this joint.. He's the muscle... and I'm the muscle."
"Me and HOAGIE started this place from the ground up. Now we got patrons comin' in from all over the world! Nothing beats that feeling."
"Doesn't even feel like work most of the time, har har! Except when the dishes pile up..."
If you've donated a total of $30 to GUITAR GUY before ONE DAY LEFT, when that day arrives, THICK EYEBROWS will learn of his son's aspirations, and prepare a LUNCHBOX and a letter to GUITAR GUY. Swing by his house to pick up these items and deliver them to GUITAR GUY. GUITAR GUY will return with his own letter to his father, and a SECRET CD for SUNNY to keep.
"嗨妈,你今天好吗?"
"Amazing work! You should consider tutoring full-time! Please come back tomorrow!"
"Sniff... Oh... I've been so hard on MICHAEL these past few years..."
