Oath of the North Pole
Project Overview
Oath of the North Pole is a series of five animated shorts of about 30-60 seconds each to be released as part of the Kickstarter for a 5e sourcebook that may or may not have the same name, I haven't decided yet. It is the story of the minions of the Ice Wizard and their travails fending off various adventurers making use of the subclasses found in the book, like the Gingerbread Witch and her fruitcake golem, the Bard of Carols, and the titular Paladin of the North Pole.

[Discussing an adventurer attack with a coworker] It's not like the Krampus is all that impressive. Is this Warlock going to storm the tower with his magical power to intimidate children with a stick?
[Lying through his teeth to try and get concessions from his boss] Y'know, I wouldn't be here if I didn't believe in destroying Christmas, ha, ha ha...but, y'know, until we manage to pull that off, uh, so long as it's still around, I-I need to spend more time with my family sometime, and the fact is most adventurers stay home for Christmas anyway, so I thought you probably wouldn't need very many minions that day...
[To himself] Well now I've done it. If I don't figure out some kind of displacer beast substitute the kid's gonna be sad on Christmas.
Wife of Goblin Dad and mother of Goblin Son. Insists that Goblin Dad spends the holidays with his family instead of working for his Christmas-hating boss.
This role pays $10 for her appearance in one of the episodes.

That's outrageous! That wizard needs you more than we need him, you know. Just tell him you're staying home for the 25th, and if he wants to fire you, we'll move out after New Year's and find work at another dungeon. There's plenty of them around here!
You'll let your son have Christmas morning without you, for the sake of these maybes and somedays? He thinks the world of you!
I love you. Your son loves you. We always will.
Adorable goblin child fascinated by displacer beasts.
This role pays $10 for his appearance in one episode.

My friend at school said guards like you work with displacer beasts, dad! Is that true?
Can I come to work with you and ride one? Pleasepleaseplease?
Can I have a displacer beast for Christmas, then?
Big, deep-voiced orc. Coworker of the main character. Generally unfazed by adventurer shenanigans.
This role pays $30 for the character's appearance in three of the episodes.

[Identifying an approaching adventurer to a coworker] Looks like a Warlock of the Krampus. He's got the sack.
[In response to a coworker asking why Krampus-themed adventurers are so common] Who else are you going to turn to for Christmas-themed violence?
[Discussing the latest adventurer to arrive at the tower] I heard carolers used to beat up people who didn't give 'em the pudding.
A caroling Christmas bard whose jovial demeanor hides the violent greed of an adventurer.
This role pays $10 for the character's appearance in one skit.

[To the tune of "We Wish You A Merry Christmas"] I'm going to burn your house down, there's nowhere to hide in this town, no rest 'till I've hunted you down, and you'll live in fear!
The sinister ruler of the tower who seeks to destroy Christmas. Manipulative and cunning, he is full of praise for his subordinates but always seeks to cajole the most work out of them for the least pay in return. He dangles vague promises that appeal to his minions' greed, ambition, or vanity, getting more work for them now in exchange for a reward that might come someday.
This role pays $15 for his appearance (with an unusually large amount of lines) in one skit.

Isn't it your job to keep this tower secure, above and below ground? And you've been doing rather a good job of it the past few weeks.
[In response to an underling's request to have Christmas day off work] Surely you are aware that I hate Christmas.
[Tempting a minion's ambitions to extort more work out of them] Listen, I'm sure you've noticed that it's past time we got some goblin representation in the officer ranks around here.
The secretary to the Ice Wizard. The audition lines are also the entirety of this character's role in the series.
This puny role pays $5, which, given it should take all of ninety seconds to record, is still a pretty good return on investment.

[In response to a question from their boss about goblin survival rates] About fifteen percent, sir.
[Acknowledging a command from their boss] Yes, sir.
