Not Quite Adventurers | Animated TV Show | Fantasy | Comedy

Project Overview

The show is sort of a satirical take on D&D-esque fantasy and adventuring. Our protagonists are all new to the field of Dungeoneering, and all looking to make a quick buck for various personal reasons; whether that be Distancing themselves from a dark family heritage, helping their family to keep their home and business in the face of debt, or becoming part of an elite and highly selective group.

Along the way, they'll raid dungeons, uncover ancient evils meant to be long forgotten, and eventually get caught up in a dangerous plot that seems far too big for them to handle.

The show is set in a D&D-esque fantasy world, meaning that there are races such as elves, dwarves, goblins, etc.
We do break "accuracy" fairly often for comedic effect, although generally the world is consistently medieval fantasy.

It's storytelling has a strong focus on comedy and character relations/growth, and we want to focus on slowing down the pacing compared to a lot of modern shows, giving the characters time to develop outside of immediate threat, and giving more casual content for fans.

The character is a young adult (Mid-Late 20's) female. She has a British accent, something more "upper-middle class" sounding. The character themselves is a High Elf. She's black, so we would highly prefer a voice actor of the same ethnicity for the most accuracy. She is bisexual, and coming to terms with her sexuality is quite important to her character, so we need someone who is at least perfectly comfortable playing a queer character, and at best, someone who is queer themselves. You will also need to be comfortable with voice acting romantic scenes, as well as scenes with sexual themes (Although we will never ask any of our VA's to voice act a sex scene, as that is not in the scope for our project.)

  • I was a Bounty Hunter. Made great money taking hits on Criminals and the like. I mean, I did, until the O.R.S. decided that Bounty Hunting should be a ‘taxable profession’, so there goes that gig. Fuck Tax Agencies, am I right?

The character is a young adult (Mid 20's) female. She has a Scottish Accent, and is slightly unhinged or chaotic sounding. The character themselves is a Drow (Dark Elf). She is a Lesbian, so we need someone who is at least perfectly comfortable playing a queer character, and at best, someone who is queer themselves.

The character is a Middle-Aged Adult (Around their 40's), although their voice doesn't necessarily have to reflect that. They preferably have a Philipino accent, although that's negotiable, as we're mainly looking for a VA that fits the character's personality. The character is generally sort of "disinterested", and will have somewhat of a monotone voice. The character themselves is a Flenn, an original species in this setting, something like a Fawn in terms of physical traits. The character is Aro/Ace, so you don't need to be comfortable with voice acting romance or sexual themes.

  • Here, how about the Elf just tells us her plan first, then we can be judgemental and unhelpful all we want. Sounds Good? Great.

The character is a young adult (Mid 20's) male. He has a North-American accent (either an American or Canadian accent), and the character is somewhat of a "Himbo", meaning he's not the most intelligent, but is generally very friendly. The character themselves is a Human. He is gay, so we need someone who is at least perfectly comfortable playing a queer character, and at best, someone who is queer themselves. You will also need to be comfortable with voice acting somewhat romantic scenes, although the character is more of a comic relief character, so the romantic scenes for them aren't super in-depth.

We're looking for animators who specialize in 2D animation, and can replicate an (albiet simple) style to create a cohesive look. We need someone reliable, someone who works well in a collaborative project, and someone who can bring their own creative ideas to the table.

Any animation tool/software is fine, as long as you're using proper tools to animate (Drawing Tablet, Ipad Pro with Pen, etc.), and you can export different parts of the scene as independent layers for easier compositing.

As for payment, we have a payment structure written up for all different positions in the show, but specifically for Animators, your payment would be a permanent cut of the revenue for each episode that you animate in, for as long as the show is available to watch. Additionally, there’s payment from other revenue, such as assorted donations or any merchandising that might happen in the future. Your cut would depend on your role in creating each episode, but it’s essentially a percentage of total revenue, not anything static.
