This project is a fanfic reading of "Nick Wilde: Ace Attorney", a crossover story between Zootopia and Ace Attorney, and written by Berserker88. This is a fanfic I've been planning to have read for a long while now, and now it's finally time to bring it to life!
The deadline to audition is Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 11:59 P.M. CST. After this time, I will no longer accept any auditions, no exceptions.
RULES:
You must be at least 16 years old to audition due to the fanfic's mature themes. By submitting your audition, you validate that you have met this age requirement.
You must have a decent quality microphone, but professional quality is not required.
I am not necessarily looking for perfect impressions of these characters. What is important is your ability to act as the character.
If you are casted, I will require you to be accountable for your lines. This means meeting scheduled due dates, as well as letting me know if anything comes up that would prevent you from meeting deadlines. ALWAYS reach out to me if something comes up so we can make a resolution ahead of time.
Please leave about 3 seconds of silence at the start of your recordings/auditions. This is so I can check your background noise.
Please do at least 2 or 3 takes of each line given. You can do it in either AABBCC or ABCABC format, as long as you do the required number of takes.
Your audio files should be in mp3 or wav format.

In the normal world, Nick Wilde is a charming, smooth-talking fox. In this alternate world, he is a loyal friend and lawyer who will refuse to back down once his mind is made up. This has been a valuable asset for him, especially as it has translated into his dedication to defending and believing in the innocence of his clients.

(challenging) Just think back to the diagram. If Nangi was where the police eventually found her, she would have been on a direct line of sight with the entrance to the lounge. If Yax had come in at any point, she would have spotted him!
In the normal world, Judy Hopps is the first bunny ever to join Zootopia's police department and is determined to both prove herself and make the world a better place. In this alternate world, she is a fierce prosecutor. She usually has her trial precisely planned out, normally ensuring her victory. Because of this, she tends to become easily ruffled with anything that does not conform to her plan.

Finnick is a lithe, squat-bodied fennec fox with tan fur. In the alternate world, he serves as Nick's defense co-counsel. He is often, violent, harsh, and overall tough and no-nonsense. He cares about Nick as a partner, but doesn't hesitate to revel in Nick's misfortune either.

(snarling) There you are! How many times are you going to be late to your own trial?! I'm warning ya, Nick, one of these days they'll mistake me for you and I'm just gonna roll with it!
(disgusted) You think she's actually buying into that crap or just trying to put pressure on us?
(frustrated) Every time we gain a bit of ground, she drags us further back down. How like a rabbit.
Clawhauser loves two things: Gazelle and donuts. That's true in both the real and alternate world. In the latter, he serves as a judge, possessing a bubbly personality, characterized by dramatics and enthusiasm. He can be prone to overlooking some aspects of his job if some of his other passions are involved, such as ignoring a question in favor of checking how many donuts are left on his gavel.
OBJECTION! *giggle* Wow, that is fun to say!
(cutesy) D'awwwwwww, aren't you just the cutest little-- *stop, then clear throat* You are Prosecutor Judy Hopps, correct? What a pleasure it is to have you serving our fair city.
*loud gasp* Murdering someone while they're taking a bath? Heinous!
Yax the yak is the most enlightened, laid-back bovine in Zootopia. In the alternate world, his role is defendant, accused of murdering his boss and mentor Nangi. He speaks in a soothing hippie voice.
(smiling) You gotta lighten up, little guy. Life's too short to get so worked up. Repeat after me... (meditating) ohmmmmm... ohmmmmm... ohmmmmm...
Nah, Nangi goes into a total trance when she's bathing like that. I could yell right in her ear and it still takes her a second sometimes.
(cheering) Yeah! Way to embrace the naturalist spirit!
In the real world, Bogo is the chief of police at the ZPD. He is a tough cape buffalo with a literal ton of attitude. In the alternate world, he serves under Clawhauser instead, as a bailiff. His role in the courtroom is minor, but both his strength and attitude are unmoved.
*sighing and muttering* I'm a buffalo, not a gopher.
(intimidating) Just give me an excuse to throw them out.

In the real world, Dawn Bellwether is a sweet sheep with a little voice and a lot of wool, who often finds herself underfoot of the larger than life mayor. In the alternate world, she's an intern at the Mystic Spring Oasis, and is one of the witnesses who testifies about Nangi's death. In BOTH worlds, she is more than she seems, and when exposed, she's not afraid to lash out.

In the real world, Flash is the fastest sloth working at the DMV. In the alternate world... he still does that, but also briefly worked at Mystic Spring Oasis. He's just another one of Nangi's coworkers... right?

(excitedly, speaking at a normal pace) Of course! I'm here to enlighten your minds and bodies! Now listen closely!
Bailey Oates is an original character for the story, serving as the lead detective on the case. Despite his elderly age and appearance, he has a lot of energy, but he often puts that energy into dramatics and poetry rather than his job. This leaves everyone exasperated, for lack of a better word.
(peppy) Salutations! Detective Bailey Oates, at your service, ma'am.
No worries. The dark horse is always underestimated before he crosses the finish line.
*sigh* The boy was passed out on the scene, i.e. gone. Guilty conscience, or just too tired from whackin' folks, you decide. Anything else you got a problem with?
The spectators of the trial. They make a lot of noise in general, and won't hesitate to speak their mind about something.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Multiple people will be casted for this role! I need at least four people to play this crowd. You also don't have to read every line listed here. Only a few lines require a certain voice, so other than those, use whatever voices you want!
