Greetings fellow CCC members! We are excited to announce that we are creating the first episode of our 2nd location based audio game, MONSTERS M.I.A., which will be launched this fall and delivered through our mobile app, Hearo! Released the fall of 2022, our first game, Motive for Murder, was voiced ENTIRELY by talented CCC Actors, just like you! Feel free to check out the app at iamhearo.com
Monsters MIA is a delightful, family-oriented quest where the players are recruited as MIA agents and tasked with a crucial rescue mission. Think Ghostbusters meets MIB, with a splash of Monsters Inc.—Fun for All Ages!
From a production standpoint, Monsters M.I.A. will be similar to a podcast or radio drama, complete with voice actors & sound engineering, including sound effects and ambience. As a division of Tripvia Inc., a smartphone audio tour company, we have extensive experience delivering professional audio experiences.
Why Here!?
This is the platform where I was cast for my very first role in 2020. I made $30 and couldn't be more excited. I have since had the pleasure of voicing roles for clients spanning the globe, big and small narrating documentaries, explainer videos, guided tours, intros and outros, short stories, e-learning, commercials, video games, and so much more. Now as a partner at Tripvia Inc., I find it equally as exciting in being able to provide the same opportunity to up and coming voice actors here on CCC, knowing where this path can lead. I, and our team very much look forward to working with you and truly wish you all the best as you work toward realizing your dreams and following your passion.
What We're Looking For
A dozen or so voices to bring our characters to life. All roles will be in English, with modern vernacular.
Compensation
We are budgeting $20 to $500 (CAD) per paid role, based on difficulty and whether it's a minor or major one. Payment will be made via PayPal. We will list the actors at the end of the experience within the app and will provide each actor with a clip featuring their performance, to be used however they choose after the game is released to the public.
Deadlines
We are aiming to make our final casting decisions by July 8th, at which point we'll notify the individuals and send the script over. Our target is one week from that date to have all lines submitted. If we require any revisions, we do expect you to be able to accommodate requests within a couple days. If you will not be able to record between July 9th and July 17th, please do not audition for the role.
Communication
Once you're selected, we will contact you through the CCC platform with further instructions. After that we will communicate via email, where the thread can be easily followed. We will be readily available to answer any questions you may have or provide feedback as you go.
Submission Instructions - Please Read Carefully!
Please submit clean recordings on prosumer mics, XLR is preferred. It is important that you record in a quiet, sound treated space. This means no air conditioners, fans, wandering pets, television programs or other unwanted background noise. We don't mind you performing minimal noise reduction on your files, but keep in mind too much clean-up will reduce the overall quality of your voice. Speaking of clean-up -- please let us handle the post-production. Do not add effects to your audition lines -- leave that to our audio gurus :)
We have provided character similarities and posted video links to give actors a base line reference of how we envision the character. These are simply to reference personality traits, meant to assist voice actors as they figure out how they would like to embody and portray the character. Do not attempt to copy or impersonate the video references. Show us what you can do, drawing from the awesomeness that is YOU!!
Please do not slate your auditions, as your name is there for us to see when you post them. Submit your auditions as .mp3 files, adhering to the AA-BB-CC format. Although 3 is considered the gold standard, it is the maximum necessary for us to gauge suitability for the role. We would recommend submitting more than a single take, as there may be aspects of your choices that stand out in both takes which the casting team will find appealing. That said, when submitting multiple takes, make sure there is a clear difference between them to highlight your versatility and creative genius!
Failure to adhere to our submission instructions may result in the audition being passed over. Although some of the requests may seem trivial, we find it important to know who reads and follows the project instructions. This is often as an indicator of how they will approach the project if cast for a role. If you are unsure of some terminology being used or aren't clear on some of the directions, please feel free to reach out for clarification through DM or commenting on the Monsters M.I.A. project at the bottom of the page. We want you to have the best shot at putting your best foot forward and there is no shame in not knowing as these are opportunities to learn! Sometimes it may just be that the instructions weren't as straightforward as I thought they were. I think me type good, sometimes no type good.
Voice Talent Cast For Roles
If you are cast for the role, please submit your audio recordings in .wav file format to our company email address, which will be provided to you after casting. If a file is too large to submit via email, we prefer to use Google Drive, but are flexible.
We may occasionally ask for line re-dos, but we do this sparingly and only after great consideration - we realize your time is valuable, and we won't ask for anything we can't work around in edits.
Lastly, we are planning on producing multiple episodes for this project, we'd like to cast people who will be able to stick with us for a while. We're incredibly proud of the acting talent we've worked with and formed strong relations with over the years. When starting a new project, we frequently return to voice actors we've worked with in the past.
Good Luck & Remember to Have Fun...They're Called PLAYS For a Reason!
