Hello! This cast calling is for the Melancholia Cartoon Series:

Will this be a cartoon series? 

  • Yes, I have finished the script and currently the pre-production will be a slow process because of my busy schedule.

What is the cartoon about?

  •  Meet rocky roadrunner, a 20 year old young adult who has bitten more than she could chew; Following the same old daily routine. Sleep, eat, work, play games then repeat. Until one night she happens to fall into a deep slumber, entering the city of dreams!  A place for the mentally ill and disorders to heal, Console and to recover from the harsh reality; Basically, a dream city for those who are mentally ill or filled with creativity.

What is the meaning behind the story? 

  • The meaning of this cartoon is a form of closure for me and of certain individuals who feel the same way; from mental disorders to being painfully accurate. Its genre is both comedy and tragedy as this story will balance out both classic genres.

What are you casting? 

  • I am casting voice actors that can take roles for my characters that will be in the pilot episode that is in the progress mading(WIP). There are two main leads & Two Supporting roles; There will be more roles such as minors and extras soon once I have the pilot script ready along with the storyboards. There will be two or three lines in the roles category; you can play around with the character's voice after reading the character's description. Of course, depending on which role you want to voice, it'll take me a good week or so to decide. (Please make sure you have sound proofing and that your voice is clear enough to be heard from your voice recordings before submitting.)

  • I am also casting audio engineers that can edit recorded VA files for the characters in the series; I’ll try to keep updates when I have the time.

Is this cast calling free or paid? 

  • This cast call is free as I want to gain some experiences for my portfolio and as an animator wishing to one day have a studio of my own; As of currently I'm working on getting into community college for a degree in arts.

  • 2024 project page update + news

    In a few weeks or so I’ll be uploading the video for the animation project properly explaining melancholia, how the process is going and what’s going to happen as of right now. I’ve been busy for some time trying to get a valuable time to set everything. I again thank you for everyone patiently waiting, since I’ve hardly had time to come in and update when I can.

    Most will be explaining the animated project on the process and what’s going to happen, some changes are going to be made on the page & most likely will be postponing the animation project for now since I don’t think I will have time to add into my schedule; it’s stressing enough as it is to make room for it so I will be working on changes. again I hope everyone has a wonderful evening, I’ll be in touch!

  • Meloncholia Major Update ONE

    Any Melancholia Updates?

    - Yes there will be some major changes and updates once the trailer teaser is out on December 31st; the full trailer isn’t completely done as I don’t have much time from having a part time job and doing college classes at the same time. So in order to make time for my animations and this trailer, I decided to make a simple teaser of the trailer until it is fully complete. Otherwise, the teaser trailer will be out just with a bit of me explaining on what’s gonna happen this year that’s coming on 2023.

    - The only thing I can say is that there will be some script changes and character design improvements along with additional characters as well for the trailer and pilot episode.

    Will the episodes be shorter or longer?

    - Knowing that I’ll probably won’t have much time in the near future; I’ll be making the episodes longer. Meaning that I’ll be making only five episodes of this cartoon & try to make it less then an hour long. Again, I’ll be explaining on the teaser trailer of what I’ll be discussing about and on what’s to come of melancholia. And yes 1 have a lot of work to do yes, but all the reason that the results will be worth it! Melancholia is my main project and the heart and soul of why I’m doing this; is because of a promise I made for myself in the past. So this much work will pay off for sure.

  • Vacation

    Hello guys, So far, I am excited for this project's progress! I really wasn't expecting it to get much attention or interest from anyone; But as much as I enjoy working on this project I will be on vacation for a day or two. Mostly traveling to relax TWT I will be back by Dec 3rd; so, I have time to finish both the animation and script for not just the trailer but for the pilot episode I have yet to finish. I will also be exploring cities and different kinds of places for my art studies or background studies for my animations and designs; I want to thank everyone for their support and interest in my cartoon. I hope everyone has a thanksgiving or a wonderful day!

  • :: MELANCHOLIA TRAILER UPDATE!!! ::

    || Good morning/evening/night. At the current moment of the cartoon, It is being storyboarded by myself although I am not entirely done since again it's at postproduction. It is difficult to balance work and college; I can say that I have yet to finish updating some new roles like extras and minor roles along with character designs. What i can say is that the script is done but I need to finish storyboarding the pilot while taking a few scenes to add them into the trailer; the deadline is by the end of this year in hopes that the trailer is out which is my main goal at the moment. I thank you for those that are patient with me and have taken an interest in my animation project; I feel quite honored! I do hope that every single one of you had fun with the roles listed for now. As for the VAs, I am still deciding since I've just came to check if anyone actually piqued their interest in my project of mines: So, for now please be patient of me is all i can ask until i have time to message on discord the talk about your interest and addition one-on-one Voice Chat or if you have a file then proceed to send it on discord.
