Mega Man Battle Network: Operate Star Force OMEGADUB (Prologue & Star Force Scenario)
Project Overview
GREETINGS FELLOW WEIRDOS!!!
TIS I...THE “ALMIGHTY” AND “PAAHHHHHHHOOOOOWERRRRFUL” OMEGA360!!!!!!!
And welcome to the audition thread for the Prologue and SF Scenario of the Mega Man Battle Network: Operate Starforce game for the Nintendo DS!
Before I start you may be asking, where have I been all this time? Well...the long and short of it is that I have been getting my bearings for the past four years...and it hasn’t been easy. I ended up struggling with quite a bit of unmotivation, discouragement, and just general laziness. The stuff I did prior, I mostly did myself, and that ended up being a lot of work, and quite stressful. And when something you love doing has all of that tossed into it, it stops being your hobby, and becomes work you don’t want to do anymore.
But, I’ve finally managed to unpack most, if not all of that, and I believe I’m ready to give this stuff another try.
So without further ado, let’s get down to business.
First, I’m not dubbing the whole game. That’s a lot of work, and I’m not ready to do that quite yet. That’s for a different game. I’m only dubbing the Prologue and the Starforce scenario, starting from the Elec Man & Proto Man boss fights. Why just those? Because that’s the entire reason most people wanted an english patch for this game. And yes, I will be doing the gag dialogues as well. I’ve had the idea to dub these scenes for a while now. And I finally have the means to do it.
Second, let’s go ahead and get the requirements out of the way.
You must have a good quality mic. Decent does not equal good. XLR mics are my preferred method, but I won’t say no to USB mics either, as long as they’re in good working condition. Built-in desktop mics will not be acceptable.
Be comfortable with emoting. As this is an action game (and depending on who you’re cast as), there may/will be times when you have to shout, yell, etc. Better make sure you aren’t disturbing anyone when you do.
Keep reverbs and plosives somewhere between minimum and non-existant. If you can, find a way to isolate both yourself and the mic in the most sound proof environment possible. A closet full of clothes is a good idea. If you don’t have anything like a wind screen, then setting your mic off to the side of you will work as a fine substitute, assuming your mic’s pickup pattern is omni-directonal or cardioid.
Communicate. I plan to hold live recordings over Discord for this project, so I need to know what time will work best for the both of us. However, if that is not possible for you, self-recordings will be fine as well, just as long as they meet the deadline. If you cannot have your lines submitted, I need to know in advance. If I do not hear from you for a prolonged period of time, your role will be recast.
As stated above, I will be using Discord to hold the live sessions. If you’re not too familiar with it, download and experiment with it first.
6. As for formats, while .wav files are preferred due to their uncompressed quality, if this is not possible, I will accept .mp3s. You do not however have to worry about this for the auditions. Wavs can sometimes take FOREVER to upload.
7. Have fun! That's basically what the point of this project is, right?
Alright, now that all that drivel is out of the way let’s get down to the characters up for grabs.
First off, just like in my Starforce Dub, I’ll be voicing Geo Stellar/MegaMan SF and Omega-Xis again. I’m well aware that self-casting yourself as the MC is frowned upon in this community, but in my defence, they’re not the MC in this game. Just a supporting cast that happens to be playable. Going forward however, I don’t think I’ll voice Geo if I ever get around to rebooting my Starforce Dub.
I’ll also be voicing Dr. Wily, as I have done him before in other fan mediums of the franchise. The more I can do myself, the less time I have to spend on casting. If I were doing this on a budget, I’d have to operate on the same method.
And finally, I’ll also be voicing StoneMan.EXE, Bass.EXE, and Solo/Rouge. I know that may seem like I’m taking a lot, but for these three, it’s a bit different. Stone Man.EXE appears in one of the gag reels, and all he ever says in the dialogue is “Gok gok,” his own gibberish language that only MegaMan.EXE and Geo seem to understand. Little to no context is given on what he’s actually saying, so not only do I doubt anyone is going to audition for that, it would also be a bit difficult to direct.
As for Bass and Solo/Rogue, I have accessed the cheats that grant the Bass and Rouge Navi chips. They only have short standalone lines, and for Bass, I have a voice in mind for him that not many people seem too keen on experimenting with. Rouge is also summoned by ClockMan.EXE and will more than likely only do battle grunts. So again, not many people will audition for that.
And finally, XenoblazeVA formally known as KingoSamurai347 will be retaining his role as Bud Bison.
Now that may seem like a lot that’s gone. But there’s still OVER A DOZEN MORE that are up for grabs! So let’s take a look at what’s available, shall we?
THE DEADLINE IS MARCH 1ST!!!!

Deadline Extension
Due to lack of auditions for the female roles, the deadline has been extended to April 1st, 11:59 EST
Gender: Male
Age: 11
NetNavi: MegaMan.EXE
Occupation: 5th Grader/Civilian
Voice Range: Medium
Accent: North American
Bio: The main protagonist of the series. Lan is easily excitable, especially when it comes to NetBattling, and he never backs down from a challenge. That being said, he is somewhat lazy where school is concerned, and has a bit of a short attention span. Numerous times he’s been caught in the crossfire of the WWWs attacks, and has since taken it upon him and his Navi MegaMan to thwart them for good. However, the sudden disappearance of Mayl’s Navi, Roll, and another MegaMan appearing on the Net might delay them a bit...
(Lots of energy) Jack In!! MegaMan, Execute!!
(Thoughtful) Hey, MegaMan. What do you think about the World Three?
(Trying to make sense of Geo’s story) Hmm...this is a lot to take in… I don’t understand it all… But you’re right here in front of me, so… OK! I believe you!
Gender: Male
Age: N/A
Operator: Lan Hikari
Occupation: 5th Grader/Civilian
Voice Range: Medium
Accent: North American
Bio: Lan’s NetNavi, and best friend. Like Lan, he enjoys NetBattling and Virus Busting quite a bit, but unlike his Operator, he’s a bit more well mannered, and frequently chides Lan when he misbehaves. This sometimes causes the two to butt heads. He shares Lan’s sense of justice, and is willing to do whatever it takes to stop the WWW’s ambitions. However, with the sudden abduction of Mayl’s NetNavi, Roll, MegaMan is quite distressed.
(Curious) What is it, Lan? It’s rare to see you so deep in thought.
(Demanding) Wait up! Were you the one who kidnapped Roll!?
(Stand alone quotes, battle sounds, etc.) EX: “Here!” “Take that!” “Here goes!”
Gender: Male
Age: N/A
Operator: None/Solo Navi
Occupation: Navi Abductor/Self-Proclaimed Genius
Voice Type: Medium - Medium Low
Accent: North American
Bio: A brand new boss character, exclusive to Operate Star Force. Originally created for experimental time travel, ClockMan escaped from Geo’s time, kidnapped Sonia Strumm, and fled to Lan’s time; 200 years into the past, where he kidnaps Mayl’s Navi, Roll. His goal is to collect all the attractive female Navis, freeze their time, and take them back to his time for his collection. ClockMan is cocky and arrogant, and is obsessed with being punctual. He absolutely hates it when his schedule gets delayed.
(Smugly) *Chuckles* 3 o’ clock sharp! Right on schedule! That foolish MegaMan fell right into my geeeeenius trap! Not off by a minute! Not even by a second!
(Irritated) Goodness, you bunch are the first ones to ever throw off my schedule by this much… Thanks to you, my plans are 2 minutes, 16 second behind!
(Stand alone quotes, battle sounds, etc.) EX: “You’re on my time now, brats!” “Over here!” “12 o’ clock, on the dot! Your time’s up! Giga Clock Beam!”
Gender: Female
Age: 11
NetNavi: Roll.EXE
Occupation: 5th Grader/Civilian
Voice Type: Medium - Medium High
Accent: North American
Bio: Lan’s classmate, next door neighbor, and childhood friend. She always has a kind attitude and makes it a point to put her friends before her. She’s perfectly capable in NetBattles, though she does wind up in situations where Lan ends up rescuing her. Though she is subtle about it, it’s quite obvious that she likes Lan, who doesn’t really seem to be able to read between the lines too well. ClockMan’s kidnapping of Roll has her panicking big time.
(Panicking) It’s Roll! She was… She was kidnapped!!
(Panicking/Struggling to explain) You see, umm...All of a sudden, a Navi showed up, and then, and then...It’s no good, I don’t understand what happened! What do I do…!?
(Deep in thought) Clocks, huh… You can check the time on your PET these days, so there might not be too many people that own a clock.
Gender: Female
Age: N/A
Operator: Mayl Sakurai
Occupation: 5th Grader/Civilian
Voice Type: Medium - Medium High
Accent: North American
Bio: Mayl’s NetNavi. She’s cheerful and kind, and is never without a can-do attitude. Though she is fully capable in a NetBattle, she does end up in situations where MegaMan has to rescue her, more often than not. She’s fully aware of Mayl’s feelings towards Lan, and appears to have the same feelings for MegaMan, who is nowhere near as dense as Lan. ClockMan has kidnapped her and stopped her time.
(Confused) Huh…? Mega…? What happened to me…?
(Amused) *Giggles* Lan and Mayl could learn a little from you two!
(A bit melancholy) ...They’re gone, huh.
Gender: Female
Age: 11
Wizard: Lyra
Occupation: Pop Star Singer/Actress/Satella Police Project TC Agent
Transcode #: 004
Voice Type: Medium High
Accent: North American
Bio: A popular singer and actress, as well as an agent of the Satella Police TC (TransCode) Project, Sonia does her absolute best to keep a smile on her face, and spread it wherever she goes, whether it’s performing, helping her friends, or saving the day. She’s fought alongside Geo many times to save the world, and sometimes against him (for various reasons). She adores Geo, and doesn’t really make much effort to hide how she feels about him. She is ClockMan’s first victim.
(Surprised/Confused, then happy) ...Huh, Geo!? Aww, you came to save me!
(Confused, then hopeful) Special? Geo, does this mean…?
(Happy) Haha! Looks like it’s connected to your time after all! Okay, Geo, let’s go!
Gender: Female
Age: 12
Occupation: 5th Grader/Geo’s Class Rep/Civilian.
Wizard: Vogue
Transcode #: N/A
Voice Type: High
Accent: North American
Bio: Geo’s class representative, as well as the daughter of a well off business oriented family, Luna is very ambitious in her goals. She seeks to make sure that her class is one of the best in Echo Ridge Elementary. She has a huge crush on the MegaMan in her time, yet is quite bossy around Geo and the others. Needless to say, when she found out that Geo was MegaMan, she was quite shocked. She’ll never admit it out flat, but she has slowly been developing a crush on Geo. She’s fully aware of Geo and Sonia’s potential feelings towards each other, and how they fight alongside each other. Because of this, she often feels insecure with herself, not being able to fight with Geo like Sonia can. (Although she has been able to Wave Change twice in the past, though both times were against her will, and against MegaMan.) Geo’s departure into the past, and uncertain return, has her worried sick.
I’ve read about this in textbooks… Before we could transfer data via the Wave Roads, computers around the world were linked together as one thanks to technology created by Dr. Hikari…
(Shocked/Scared) What did you say!?
(Worried, then stern) Geo...no, MegaMan!! Make aaaaabsolutely sure you come back!! That’s an order!!
Gender: Male
Age: 10
Occupation: 5th Grader/Civilian
Wizard: Pedia
Transcode #: N/A
Voice Type: High
Accent: North American
Bio: Geo’s classmate, and one of the smartest in it. He takes his studies very seriously, and is steadfastly loyal to Luna, Bud, and Geo. He often feels insecure with his literal short stature, as well as not being able to support Geo the way Bud, Sonia, or Luna do. But whenever his friends need help, he’s there with whatever information he has, no matter how small.
(Shocked, worried for Geo) B-B-But…! If the Internet is that old, is it okay for Geo to enter it?
(Worried) But what if they can’t find them…?
(Encouraging Geo) That’s right, Geo! Prez’ll get mad if you don’t come back!
Gender: Female
Age: Unknown (Possibly In The 80s)
Occupation: WAZA Lead Scientist
Wizzard: Unknown
Transcode #: N/A
Voice Type: Medium/Slightly Raspy (Think Pinako from Fullmetal Alchemist)
Accent: English
Bio: The head scientist at WAZA HQ, specializing in EM Waves and Noise. She’s helped Geo and his allies in many of their battles, particularly against Dealer and Meteor G. She’s very talkative about her work, though she does have a habit of going on a tangent. Her peers are usually the ones to get her back on track. Utilizing experimental data left behind by ClockMan, Dr. Goodall has managed to create a warp hole that leads to 200 years in the past, Geo’s only method of pursuing the rogue Navi. Though confident Geo will find a way back home, she is worried nonetheless.
(Informative) That warp hole over there will take you to them… It’s connected to the “Internet” from 200 years ago.
(Warning, with a bit of worry) We had to make that warp in a hurry in order to get to where she was taken. You could say it’s still incomplete. It’s quite unstable. After one use it’ll, well...disappear.
(Serious instructions) Don’t interact too much with the people from that era. Regular conversation should be fine, but you mustn't involve others in this incident. Doing so might change the world as we know it.
Gender: Male
Age: 11
NetNavi: ProtoMan.EXE
Occupation: IPC Vice President/Official NetBattler
Voice Type: Medium - Medium Low
Accent: North American
Bio: The Vice President of IPC, the leading company in PET development, as well as an Official NetBattler, tasked with tracking down and eliminating NetCriminals. Despite his age, he’s quite mature and takes his work very seriously. Lan’s constant interference in the WWWs incidents frustrate him to no end, making Chaud see Lan as nothing more than a nuisance. He orders his Navi, ProtoMan, to delete MegaMan during the blackout at SciLab. However, to Caud’s utter shock and humiliation, ProtoMan is soundly defeated.
(Irritated/Ordering) ProtoMan, delete that Navi. They’ve caused us enough trouble.
(Annoyed at his ProtoMan’s defeat) ProtoMan! Don’t listen to their nonsense! Jack out, now!
(Ordering) Let’s go, ProtoMan! Jack out!!
Gender: Male
Age: N/A
Operator: Eugene Chaud
Occupation: Official NetBattler
Voice Type: Medium Low (Ref. David Kaye, Tommy James or Johnathan Love)
Accent: North American
Bio: Eugene Chaud’s NetNavi. Like minded with his Operator, ProtoMan follows Chaud’s orders without question. He’s encountered several WWW Navis wrecking havoc, but never quite manages to apprehend them, mostly due to Lan and MegaMan’s interference. Obeying his Operator’s orders, ProtoMan attempts to delete MegaMan shortly after ElecMan’s deletion, in an attempt to prevent him from getting in his way again. Try as he might though, he is defeated, an outcome that both shocks and confuses him. This will be his first loss, as well as the first of many battles against MegaMan.
(Irritated at his tardiness) Darn...too late...it took too long to break the jack in protection…
(Irritated at MegaMan’s constant interference) If you amateurs hadn’t got in the way, our plan to lure in the World Three with fake data would have succeeded.
(Stand alone quotes, battle sounds, etc.) EX: “Worthless.” “Take this!” “This is absurd! You’re just a civilian Navi!!”
Gender: Male
Age: 11
NetNavi: GutsMan.EXE
Occupation: 5th Grader/Civilian
Voice Type: Medium - Medium Low (Think Eddy from Ed, Edd n’ Eddy)
Accent: North American
Bio: Your stereotypical playground bully, as well as a self-proclaimed “NetBattling Master.” Not once has he and GutsMan ever been able to beat Lan and MegaMan to uphold that title. Despite his bragging nature, he does consider Lan a worthy challenge as well as a friend, and has aided him several times in thwarting the WWWs schemes. Lan’s sudden bursting into his house along with a MegaMan doppelganger in the Real World has him completely confused, and he demands an explanation. Neither of the heroes seem to pay him any mind.
(Surprised) Whoa!? Hey, what are ya doing coming over all of a sudden, Lan?
(Confused) Hey, Lan what’s goin’ on? Is something wrong with my clock?
(Irritated) Stop ignoring me!!
Gender: Male
Age: Unknow (Early 50s perhaps)
NetNavi: MagicMan.EXE

Gender: Female

NetNavi: ColorMan.EXE (Deleted)
Occupation: WWW Agent/Criminal
Voice Type: Medium Low
Accent: North American
Bio: A clever witted agent of WWW. She and her Navi, ColorMan were the mastermind behind the kidnapping of Dr. Froid’s son, resulting in an ultimatum where the latter and his Navi, IceMan.EXE, had no choice but to cause the waterworks incident, as well as the cause of the traffic light incident in Den Town. Since then, her Navi was swiftly deleted by none other than MegaMan. Infuriated by her failure, as well as Wily’s refusal to repair her Navi, she and Count Zap decide to go AWOL, and attempt to kidnap both Mayl and Roll in an effort to get revenge on Lan & MegaMan. However, ClockMan beats them to the punch, followed shortly by a MegaMan look-alike in the real world. The situation has both criminals too shocked to make sense of it.
(Irritated at Count Zap’s request, then complaining) Hey! That’s not fair! Lord Wily! I worked hard to gather the programs, too! Please repair my ColorMan, too!
(Irritated at MegaMan’s constant interference) I’ve had enough of this. It’s about time we get our sweet, sweet revenge!
(Shocked/Irritated) Even showing up in the real world to stop me… That Navi of yours is just ridiculous!
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown (Early 30s perhaps)
NetNavi: ElecMan.EXE
Occupation: WWW Agent/Criminal
Voice Type: Medium
Accent: English
Bio: A rather eccentric member of WWW. He always follows Wily’s orders with absolute pizazz and gusto. He and his Navi, ElecMan are the cause of the blackout in SciLab, in an effort to obtain the ElecProgram, the final SuperProgram needed to complete the Life Virus. Though he is successful in obtaining it, ElecMan is deleted in the process by MegaMan. Irritated at Wily’s refusal to repair his Navi, he decides to team up with Ms. Madd to kidnap Mayl and Roll to take revenge on Lan and MegaMan. However, the appearance of ClockMan and another MegaMan in the Real World puts that plan on ice, permanently.
(Excited, then politely requesting) Congratulations, Lord Wily! But actually, I have a small favor to ask…
(Furious at MegaMan’s constant interference) Arrrggh… This is all the fault of that Navi, MegaMan or whatever! I can’t stand it!
(Shocked/Stunned) Unbelievable… A Navi in the real world…? *Mutters something incomprehensible*
Gender: Male
Age: N/A
Operator: Count Zap
Occupation: WWW Agent/ Criminal
Voice Type: Medium
Accent: North American
Bio: Count Zap’s NetNavi. He’s drained SciLab’s power and redirected it to himself while he searches for the ElecProgram, the last SupperProgram needed to create the Life Virus. As long as the generator is supplying power to him, no attack can permanently harm him. However, Lan manages to shut off the power, cutting off ElecMan’s means of regenerating. MegaMan is able to delete ElecMan, but not before he sends the ElecProgram to his Operator.
(Mildly amused at MegaMan’s progress) Hrm...you did good coming this far, but you’re too late...I just finished downloading the ElecProgram!
(Confident of victory) Heheh! Electricity is my power! As long as there’s power generated, I can’t be stopped!

(A bit disappointed) Oh well...I guess the party’s over. Shall we go home?
Gender: Male
Age: Mid 30s
NetNavi: None

(Serious) Let the feast of souls begin! SkullMan, arise!
(Neutral) Your spirits have beaten me again…
