Kingdoms of Arda - LotR Bannerlord Mod

Project Overview

Kingdoms of Arda

is a Singleplayer & Multiplayer total conversion of Mount & Blade II Bannerlord, that brings the world of Tolkien into the game. This includes: characters, locations, weapons etc. from The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Silmarillion and other works by Tolkien and media made for his universe.

Casting

There are two types of roles: Character and Ensemble. The Character Roles are for the Player Character as they journey through Middle-Earth, giving commands to their soldiers in battle. Eventually down the line, we may implement lines of dialogue with other lords of the world. The Ensemble roles will include all sorts of battle cries and victory cheers to be heard in and at the end of battle.

The roles for this project are approximations of the six(!) factions that will need Characters and Ensemble members. WE WILL BE ACCEPTING MULTIPLE PEOPLE FOR EACH ROLE. This way, once accepted, you can take passes at all of the characters and ensemble parts in each faction and we can achieve the sound of large armies gathering with unique voices.

Please be sure that your audio is clean and clear of popping, room echo, and noise. We cannot accept poor audio quality; your audition will not be considered if it is not up to an acceptable standard.

Gondor is the remaining Kingdom of the once great Numenorians. While some of the citizens of Gondor claim heritage from this noble bloodline, many of its soldiers are of lesser blood. However, the pride of Numenor and the legacy of the West is at home in Gondor, and all of its citizens wish to see that glory restored. The soldiers of Gondor are brimming with honor and purpose, fighting hard for peace. While they may be losing hope as the years go on, Gondorian soldiers are stalwart and resolute when it comes to battle with the Nameless One and His servants.

In addition to the above, the Gondor set should be noble, commanding, authoritative. Though, note that there is camaraderie and respect between commanders and subordinates. They are an effective military, though the ACTOR can attempt a character that may revel in battle (a Boromir) or find it a means to an end (a Faramir).

  • (VICTORY CHEERS. You have just won a bloody battle.)

    For the White City!

The Legacy of Westernesse shall never fade!

The Bastion of Men cannot fall while we defend it.

  • (BATTLE CRIES. You are in the thick of battle!)

    We will cleanse these lands!

    Maintain your hearts.

The Blood of Numenor is not yet spent!

  • (COMMANDS. You are in battle, commanding your troops.)

    Armies of The White Tree!

    Follow closely, Soldiers of Gondor!

Partha canad ram! (Means to form a square)

The Uruk-Hai were famously bred for a single purpose: to destroy the world of Men. They are the brutish, crushing muscle of the forces of darkness. They are fierce, tireless, and merciless. They are war-machines, fully obedient to their leader Saruman. The Uruk-Hai are obsessed with order and supremacy. All they know is to serve and kill.

The key to differentiating the Uruk-Hai from Orcs is a deeper, growling vocal quality. They think more strategically than the Orcs, and will not hesitate to point it out, or resort to shows of strength to further Saruman’s will.

Focus more on the Vocal Quality of your recording, as pitch can be more easily edited in post. Growls, snarls, laughs, and other cruel noises will add the much needed believability, more so than trying to force your voice too low.

  • (VICTORY CHEERS. You have just won a bloody battle)

    Sa-ru-man! Sa-ru-man!

We feast on man flesh tonight!

There will be no dawn for men!

  • (BATTLE CRIES You are in the thick of battle!)

    Hunt… Prey… Kill!

    We are the Fighting Uruk-Hai!

    Saruman will have his prize.

The Black Numenoreans are descended of old from the traitorous and proud King’s Men of Numenor. Though their lineage is failing, Sauron as ever corrupted them and further blackened their souls and spirits. High among the BN’s under Sauron’s influence are sorcerers and even some of the Ringwraiths themselves. A Black Numenorean in the Court of Mordor would have high-standing and would maliciously enjoy ordering around the lower spawn of Sauron’s host. They are cruel, harsh, and frightening, though, they have lost much of their humanity being tainted by Sauron’s influence. Intelligent, tactical, and powerful in their own right, they are still slaves to Sauron’s will. They look down on the creatures of darkness (Orcs, Uruks) with disgust, seeing only mere tools of destruction.

Be commanding, intimidating and ruthless. Try to have an air of immortality and superiority, as those are the 2 things they strive for most.

  • (VICTORY CHEERS. You have just won a bloody battle.)

Our victory for Sauron the Great!

The Lord of Barad-dur will claim the West!

(laughing) It is foolish to contend with the might of Sauron.

  • (BATTLE CRIES. You are in the thick of battle!)

Leave none standing to contend with us.

    Death! Death to the West!

As the Dark Lord commands… (with a grin)

  • (COMMANDS. You are commanding your soldiers in the midst battle.)

    You all await my command!

Slay all in your path! (Giving the Charge! command)

    Useless rabble! Flee!
