Keroro Gunso Abridged
Project Overview
The Keroro Gunso Abridged series is completely inspired by the Sgt Frog abridged series created by TheMidnightFrogs on YouTube and the anime Keroro Gunso itself.
While the Sgt Frog abridged series lasted for a total of 25 episodes, the Keroro Gunso abridged series hopes to go even further. Bringing you not only episodes already recreated/parodied by TheMidnightFrogs, but episodes from in between, various re-dubbed scenes out of context, and hopefully even original scripted animatics based on both the canon characters and original characters created by fans. (This is not currently guaranteed)
This series hopes to bring you all of the humor that the Sgt Frog abridged series gave while maintaining originality and increased sensitivity to modern topics and/or issues.

Five characters casted!
Congrats to the five awesome voice actors who have been casted for Fuyuki, Keroro, Tamama, Dororo and Giroro! Please privately message me ASAP for my discord tag so we can chat! To everyone who auditioned for these characters, thank you so much and feel free to audition again in the future as there were many talented voices I'd still love to work with in the future!
The Keroro in this series is often optimistic and jokes, but occasionally breaks character by expressing a suppressed existential dread and describing past traumas under breath.
For Keroro, I'm looking for a flexible voice that conveys emotion humorously and dramatically at the same time. Auditioning with a demo reel is welcome!
I'd like to find a voice-actor that can deliver lines in a way similar to Todd Haberkorn's interpretation of Keroro's character. This doesn't mean you have to have a matching voice, the importance is in line delivery. And that applies to most characters! [Note: Todd Haberkorn is Funimation's English voice actor for Keroro]
(Yelling angrily) "Who took the last Cup-o-Noodles?! I buried it underground for a reason, you know!"
(Passively) "Just let them take Dororo, I'm sure his limbs are worth something on Ebay..."
(Flat tone) "Sorry, I don't speak Italian."
The Giroro in this series could be interpreted as closeted. He's follows simple actions he makes with other guys with "No homo." That's pretty much his catch phrase. He will also target and insult Keroro specifically and seemingly without reason following anything he may say whether it actually involves Keroro or not.
Giroro's voice is low and he mostly talks in grumbles. He rarely shows any emotion other than anger, though his speaking manner is mostly monotone.
(Shyly) "Here, take this. I found it in the garbage. No homo."
(Angry) "What do you mean sold the Hinata family for four gluesticks?!"
(Thoughtfully) "Hm... If the sun sets in the west and rises in the east, that must mean everyone can agree that Keroro is the worst character in the series..."
The Dororo in this series is portrayed as pathetic and lonesome like the original, but exaggerates on this by the character constantly expressing his regrets in life or comparing a situation to a past trauma.
Dororo always speaks in a soft tone of voice no matter what emotion he's expressing. The one exception to this is when he's extremely upset/crying, in which his voice becomes hoarse and almost hysterical changing completely.
(Suprised) "I don't think I've felt this much joy since that one time Keroro actually apologized for breaking my knees!"
(Crying pathetically) "Oh god, why did I accept that job at Walmart?!"
(Hoarse/wheezing) "I THINK I'M HAVING AN ASTHMA ATTACK!"
[think of that one episode of spongebob where he's dying from lack of water when reading this line]
Tamama’s voice should either sound similar to the one from the Sgt Frog abridged series (a poor impression of a feminine voice) or the Tamama from Funimation’s English dub.
Aside from that, whenever Tamama’s more sinister side shows up the voice will change to that of a Brooklyn mobster / Italian gangster and sound more masculine.
(Casually) “Fuck gender, I just wanna have sex.”
(Cheering) “Hooray for liberals!”
(In the Brooklyn accent) “I came here to look cute and suck dick, and I’m all outta dick.”
Kululu (aka Kururu) Isn’t much different from that of the canon series. He openly expresses his sadistic nature and doesn’t show too much emotion.
Expressing the way he speaks is a bit challenging, so my suggestion is that you aim for an impression of Kululu’s voice from either the original version of the Keroro Gunso anime or a toned down version of TheMidnightFrog’s Kululu in their series.
(Nonchalant) “We could always start selling pekoponian skin on the black market if our financial issues become a problem.”
(A bit irritated) “This is kind of pathetic to watch, and I’m a sadist.”
(Distraught) “Holy shit! I think we just blew up the Walmart down the street!”
Fuyuki was motivated to become Keroro’s follower rather than friend. His love of extraterrestrial and paranormal things turned around to be more of an obsession.
Fuyuki should sound somewhat young and a little bit nasally.
(Upbeat) “You know what they say about aliens, if you can’t beat them, center the rest of your pathetic life around them!”
(Disappointed) “Aw, I thought we were cool...”
(Flat expression) “Maybe I should just start kidnapping people instead.”
Natsumi isn’t much different from her character in the Sgt Frog abridged series. She does however openly express more death wishes upon Keroro.
A natural voice is welcome when auditioning for Natsumi, as long as it’s mostly feminine.
(Frustrated) “I just cleaned the house and there’s already frog shit everywhere!”
(Defeated) “I don’t normally pray, but I think I need Jesus right now.”
(Flat) “I’d probably describe you with the following three words. Annoying, expendable, and problematic.”
Momoka doesn’t have a great significance to the series and won’t show up too often in general, so feel free to go ape shit with your audition. The main aspect of her original voice is that she switches between a sweet and classic anime girl to a drastically darker and more intense personality. (Best examples of this come from the original dub and the funimation english dub)
Should you like to try, Momoka may have an English (UK) or a slight Japanese accent!
(sweetly) “Oh Fuyuki, I can’t wait to mother all sixty-nine of our children. I’m thinking we should name our first child Tekashi!”
(This line starts off cheery and quickly transitions to angry yelling)
“I don’t think I have any emotional issues! ARE YOU TRYING TO SUGGEST THAT I’M BIPOLAR OR SOMETHING?!”
(Improvise!)
Angol Mois is a bit of an air-head, but makes for nice comic-relief now and then. She speaks in a very soft tone and never really raises her voice unless she's truly upset by something.
(Although her relationship with Keroro in the canon series is a big part of her character, I'm tip toeing around this as I've always personally found it somewhat problematic.)
(Questioning) "You could say, legally obligated?"
(Cheerful) "Nothing makes me happier than seeing dead Tamagotchi!"
(Slightly confused) "You'd think with all the depressed Pekoponians around, committing mass homicide would be welcomed here..."
