2. Acting quality (ability to showcase the right emotions is key)
3. Meet Deadline and availability (recording lines as soon as you can helps a lot and being able to redo lines if necessary)

Thank you to all who auditioned so far! There are still a few roles for Chapter 1 left. So if you weren't cast in one, maybe try another role. I'd love to have you on the team. Plus, I added a one-scene role, Sheila. So if any female voice actors that didn't get cast yet, this one might be for you!
- Jake Locke
- Lead character, so Jake will have many lines. Don't audition if you're not ready to do 60-80 lines per episode.
- Age 25
- Not rich, works as a junior reporter at the San Francisco Times and as a pizza delivery drives
- Lives out of his car
- Excited and eager to prove that he's a good reporter.
- Smart but reckless
Sir, can I shadow Austin on this one? I’ve been dying to see a real story.
Did Ms. Johnson have a husband or boyfriend? It's common for a partner to have a motive.
Hi, I’m Jake Locke and this is Austin Joseph. We’re reporters from the San Francisco Times.
Austin Joseph is a senior reporter for the San Francisco Times.
- Age 42
- A bit of mentor to Jake Locke
- The character will be heavily featured for at least 3-4 episodes.
- Voice reference: Joel from The Last of Us (not specifically the accent the gruff veteran voice and demeanor)
Let’s see if we can find Officer Yang and hopefully he can give us some details.
Don’t worry Edwards hasn’t noticed yet. But you have to stop driving that rust bucket.
We heard about your fiance. We’re very sorry. We’d like to know more about her.
Katie Johnson is the first victim of the killer showcased in the series.
- Late-twenties
- Engaged to marry Ronny Moore
- Banker
- A sports lover
Hi Ronny, I’m on my way home now… I know it’s late but I’m getting on BART now… don’t worry, it’s just me and a construction worker here.
(talking to Ronny on the phone) Ronny, hang on one second… Hi, what was that?
(continues talking to Ronny) Of course, I think the Lakers are going to win the championship again this year. They have home court advantage against the 76ers in a couple of days.
- William Earle
- A serial killer
- Age 51
- Appears briefly in Chapter 1
- He is a college professor
- Intellectual mind with a twisted hatred toward women.
- Voice reference: Vincent D'onofrio as Wilson Fisk in Daredevil (doesn't have to be as deep of a voice, but the cadence used to build an eerieness and suspense is important)
Hello, ma’am, sorry to bother you but do you happen to know if there’s another train coming after this one?
Okay, thank you. I’d better get on this one then. My wife is going to kill me for being this late.
I think you’re extremely beautiful.
Age 29. His fiance, Katie is killed. Reporters from the SF Times interview him.
I had just gotten home when I called Katie. I was asking what she wanted for dinner when she got back home.
No, she was alone… she mentioned it was only her and a construction worker at the station.
Nothing outside the occasional catcall. Katie was obviously a beautiful woman. She made heads turn just by walking into the room.
Age 26. Substitute kindergarten teacher, friendly. Prefers to be called "Lena." She asks Jake Locke out on a date.
You can call me Lena if you’d like. We’re about the same age, right?
I talked with her landlord and he said he saw her leave the usual time for school. Ms. Finlay’s parking spot was empty so she obviously had driven off. And no one has seen her since.
Actually, are you free for dinner tonight?
Senior Editor at the SF Times. Commanding voice. Stern but calm with his staff.
Mornin’ everyone. Take a seat. Unfortunately, we have an ugly one to start off this morning.
She was on her way home from work when she took BART and an officer… Yang found her.
Okay, you two cover that story. I’ll finish up with Wong and Doyle.
The SFPD officer found the body of the murder victim.
I found Ms. Johnson once the BART car reached the end of the line in Oakland.
We cleared Ronny Moore, her fiance. He had just left work in San Jose and cell phone records show that he was talking to Katie minutes before she died.
Well, she was still seated. She didn't have a chance to react or fight back. And since the train car was empty, the killer walked straight up to her.
A senior reporter at the SF Times. An unfriendly personality, cynical, and rough.
What? Stuff like this happens. What makes this story special?
Screw you, Wong.
You should be saying that EVERY morning.
Hey! Joseph. Locke. get in the conference room.
Always the downer, Nora.
Nora…
How much is it?
Okay, here you go. Keep the change.
Sheila is the front desk clerk at the SF Times. Her voice should able be to portray her indifference to learning Jake Locke's name. She's not really friendly but not mean, just monotone and indifferent.
Do you work here?
What’s your last name, Jake?
Okay, Mr. Locke, you’re free to go.
Zak is the owner of the pizza shop that Jake Locke works for. Voice is up to interpretation.
Jake! You gotta deliver these pizzas to the trailer park near Jefferson. Huge order! Don’t be late.
In my fifteen years of my shop, I have never been late.
Okay! Go now!... and don’t drop one or else it’s coming out of your pay.
