Froggy Fighters: Looking for Coders and Animators!
Project Overview
* PLEASE READ: TALKS ABOUT PAY AT THE END *
Welcome to Froggy Fighters!
Froggy Fighters is developed by Froggy Fighters INC, inspired by Super Smash Bros. developed by Nintendo and being built off of Platform Fighter Engine by Yosi. We wanted to make this game as a celebration of the friendships we've grown and the characters we've grown to connect with and allowed our fellow friends to interact with. However, with the vision we have for this game we find ourselves needing just a bit of help with some of the roles available with making the game. We all lead very busy lives and to get more done, a bigger team is what we're looking for.
This game doesn't have a set deadline due to the busy lives thing so if you find yourself needing to drop out at any point that is completely okay! We don't expect you to make this game your livelihood. However, for as long as you're apart of the project we hope you have fun with what you create and you'll get credits for working on it!
All information is listed below but we're looking for:
Animators to make vectors and animations for the characters
Coders to help program characters into the game and any etc things
Stage artists to help create stages
Some set things beforehand to know before auditioning:
MUST BE 16+ TO JOIN
Must have Discord as that's our main source of communication
NO AI ART ALLOWED
If you're interested as well, we'll be adding voice acting at a later date in time so keep our project saved if you're more interested in that!
Please make sure you include your Discord in your audition!
The pay for this project will be discussed with your designated team once you get accepted! I want to pay everyone fairly for their work so we'll get to whatever when we get to that point! The pay will be monthly and via Paypal would be best but if you need to use something else just let me know!
When you are logged in, you can comment, add submissions, create projects, upvote, search open roles, and way more. Login here.
Please make sure you put your Discord in your audition or we will be unable to accept you!
Please post a link to your portfolio for your audition and anything else you think we need!
This role is the Sprite Animators role!
In this role you will be doing the animation for the characters we're putting in the game. There will be deadlines set up but if you don't hit them don't worry too much as we understand when things come up. These deadlines will also be months out so you have a bunch of time to work on the character.
It wont be a ton of animation, and it won't need to be frame by frame 24 frames per second.
What we have been doing is creating gifs for each move listed under a character, edited from a vector made.
In this role, if not working with someone else you'll have to create your own vector/main sprite for the character you're working on and do the move animations which will all have reference set up for you prior to you starting your role.
You'll be shown how our current animations look prior to make sure you are okay with working on stuff like that prior so don't worry about being thrown to the wolves.
We're not being strict on what you need to use but there will be an art style that you will have to try to recreate (see in the profile picture). Our main animator is using Scratch for animation but, again, you're not limited to using Scratch if you have your own thing you want to use, just please also state what program you use in your audition.
The pay for this project will be discussed with your designated team once you get accepted! I want to pay everyone fairly for their work so we'll get to whatever when we get to that point! The pay will be monthly and via Paypal would be best but if you need to use something else just let me know!

This is the game coders role!
In this role you will be coding in characters and anything extra that you get tasked, in example items and figuring out bugs. The game is built off of Platform Fighter Engine which you will be able to download once you get accepted, specifically the LTS version of GameMaker studio.
As character animations come in you'll be programming those in and make sure that they work, if you're not familiar with this program, that's okay! Our current coders will be happy catching you up to speed! Yosi, the creator of Platform Fighter Engine, also has a lot of tutorials on the engine's website to help you out if need be. He also has a Discord server you can join where he is happy to assist in any questions you might have.
Don't worry to much about not being super well versed in coding, or knowing it at all, all our coders started from scratch so if all you have IS Scratch coding experience, you can still audition and be considered! We're willing to take in anyone who just wants to help code and learn it!
The pay for this project will be discussed with your designated team once you get accepted! I want to pay everyone fairly for their work so we'll get to whatever when we get to that point! The pay will be monthly and via Paypal would be best but if you need to use something else just let me know!

This is the Stage Artists Role!
In this role you will be helping to create stages for the game. (You'll also have to add backgrounds to those stages) You'll be able to pick from a list and have references for what you need to create already set up so don't worry about that! There is an aspect ratio that you have to make sure your stages are bigger than but this role you can really just have fun with having your own vision. There will, however, be deadlines for this role but if you don't hit them, that's okay! We understand life gets in the way. The deadlines are also months out so you have a lot of time to work.
You'll be able to split this work up with the other stage artists and have your stage's lore explained to you if need be. You'll be shown previous stages as well so you get a gist of what we're going for and also get any mandatory ledge placements explained to you.
You don't need to use a specific art program for doing the stages, we're accepting to all and you don't need to match any other art styles as this is just to be fun and show the variety these settings have. All you're required is to make sure that aspect ratio is good. Our main stage artist uses IbisPaint but, again, you don't need to use that.
The pay for this project will be discussed with your designated team once you get accepted! I want to pay everyone fairly for their work so we'll get to whatever when we get to that point! The pay will be monthly and via Paypal would be best but if you need to use something else just let me know!
