Fandub: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run - Major Characters
Project Overview
Hello everyone! Me and a fellow VA are making a Steel Ball Run fandub and we need your help! There will be many additional roles added at later dates so if someone you want to voice isn't here, they'll most likely be added at another time! The only exceptions are Johnny Joestar and Hot Pants who have already been cast (they're included here just for aesthetic purposes). Every other character in the part is up for grabs!
If you're not familiar with JoJo or are an anime-only fan, no worries, though there will be spoilers!
Storyline:
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run is a manga series following Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli on a race across the United States of America, with the winner taking home 50 million dollars. Unbeknownst to most participants, the race has an ulterior motive involving the collection of a corpse, implied to be that of Jesus Christ. With the help of this corpse, president Funny Valentine hopes gain it's power and, for lack of a better word, make America great again (lol).
Joestar and Zeppeli must face off against many outlaws, terrorists, and even the president himself to obtain the corpse and win the race. With the corpse's limitless power, paraplegic Johnny hopes to regain his ability to walk. And with the prize money, ex-executioner Gyro plans to save a child in his homeland of Italy who was wrongfully accused and is being sentenced to death.
- Please have a decent mic, try to have as little background noise as possible
- Must have Discord
- There will be some heavy emoting, primarily screaming and crying - people are shot, killed, hit etc. etc. Please make sure you can do this and please warm up your voice before! Look up some warm-ups on YouTube if you don't know any, you'll harm your voice otherwise.
- Please be on time with delivery of lines. We will want to upload on a somewhat consistent schedule and if you're not submitting on time then we may have to recast. This is especially true for many of the characters being cast here. Gyro, Lucy, Valentine and Diego are major characters and require many, many, many lines. If you're auditioning for them, be ready for a long-term commitment with the project.
Additional Notes:
- For accented characters; the accent is not required to be cast. A great performance with no accent will be chosen over a mediocre one with the appropriate accent. If you'd like to give an audition with both and accented and non-accented voice, go right ahead, AABBCC or ABCABC format is fine.
- Do at least two takes of each line and try to make them sound different. I don't expect you to go hunting through the manga for context so do whatever makes sense to you for the lines given.
- Please don't slate auditions and please include your Discord in your audition
- Mountain Tim, Pocoloco, and Sandman are on the minor-er side of the major character line-up. If you're cast for one of them, feel free to audition of other minor characters or contact me to be additional voice level characters (people with one or two lines maximum).

Gyro is a major, major, major character. He appears in almost every page of the manga. Please be aware of this before auditioning!
Gyro is Italian, go ahead and do an accent if you'd like but it's certainly not required! He does have a cannon voice but you don't need to mimic. He should have a mid-ranged voice.

Dio does have an official voice actor, however this Dio is from another universe so matching his voice is not mandatory.
Diego is a minor antagonist, with a medium to low pitched voice. He is British so you can give him an accent if you wish, though this is also not required.
Diego's goals include winning the Steel Ball Run, and retrieving the corpse parts.

Valentine is the president of the United States and is the major antagonist of the part. He has a medium toned voice and is a bit eccentric.

Lucy should have a high pitched voice. She's from Oklahoma so you can give her an accent, though this is not required. She doesn't have very many official lines so go ham on making a cute voice for her!
Some general information: Lucy is a 14 year old girl, married to Steven Steel. Her main goal throughout SBR is to protect her husband.

Steven has a medium to low voice and is middle aged. He was born of Irish immigrants so you can give him an accent, but this is not required.
He is the promotor of the Steel Ball Run but is not the most major of a character. If you're cast as him, we'd be happy to give you extra roles as other minor characters if you so desire.

Sandman is a native american man, he should have a medium to low voice. He does have official audio in Japanese if you'd like to voice match, but this is not required.

Winning this race is desirable, but your corpse parts... those are a better bargaining chip when I need to negotiate with this country.
I feel sorry for you two, but I do not feel guilt.
My stand... the sound it creates will tear your body to shreds with one blow!
Pocoloco has a deep/low voice, he acts pretty goofy and is carefree, feel free to go a little crazy with his voice and lines.
He is a very minor character, though if you are cast for him, we'd be happy to give you roles of other minor characters if you so desire.

Mountain Tim is a minor-ish ally. He is a southerner so we'd prefer an accent but it is not required. His voice would be fairly deep/low.
