Deadline Extension
Due to several roles that aren’t filled we’re extending our auditions deadline to the 20th!
Commander Garcia functions as the Chief Medical Officer of the Exeter. Garcia is the only member of the crew who expressly requested an assignment to the Exeter. As her former husband was one of the unfortunate casualties of the original Exeter crew. Vowing to stay in Starfleet and continue his work aboard the ship he loved nearly as much as her. She's confident in her abilities and skills and also acts as the crews pseudo-Counselor, happily listening to and adapting to the needs of the crew under her care.
That’s fine then, New Berlin has an artificial gravity environment, so the examinations would be near identical. I’ll contact New Berlin Central Hospital and download your Medical Record from them. You’re dismissed Lieutenant and again, welcome.
Sure, at Starbase One, when he was still the XO. He ran the crew with efficiency, but he also knew how to understand a situation, especially the unexpected. You’re fine Commander, he isn’t going to hold it against you.
If it was from a species we already have a baseline knowledge, absolutely. But I don't have any uninfected genes or data to pull from the Xindi races. And we’re talking about five separate races, that means it’s going to be five times harder to find a cure for all of them.
Captain Lockhart was previously assigned to Starbase One, where he operated as the Stations Executive Officer. After Captain Kirk declared the USS Exeter as abandoned, Lockhart was put in charge of the recovery of the Constitution-class starship. Even so much as overseeing the ship's brief refit period. Lockhart is an experienced Exec, but this is his first Command and will be tested by the scenarios faced by the USS Exeter.
Personally? But sir, I have other duties to the station I need to attend to, I can’t devote my focus entirely to a single ship...which frankly Admiral, sounds like it’s a ship of the dead.
I’d accept an apology, Lieutenant but I can understand your thoughts and feelings. Considering I know that it has in fact happened in the past when you were initially assigned to Utopia Planetia. It was your sister who had some sway with the previous Commander and didn’t consult with you, you two haven’t spoken since.
Very good, helm, full impulse power. Once we’ve cleared Lunar orbit, prepare for warp. Navigator, set a course for Xindi space.
Commander Barnes was previously assigned to the USS Reliant (as seen in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn although this series takes place PRIOR to the ships refit.) As a member of the Navigation Department. When the Exeter was repaired, her prior Captain recommended Barnes for promotion to the rank of Commander and the newly opened Executive Officer position, doubling as the ship's Chief Navigation Officer. She's confident in her abilities and is proud of her accomplishments outwardly, but often finds herself often inwardly reflective and overly critical of herself.
Welcome aboard the Exeter, I am Commander Barnes, your Chief Navigator and Executive Officer. This is Doctor Garcia, our Chief Medical Officer.
The Captain wasn’t too happy when I told him we’d be running behind on getting the crew aboard.
The Reptilians were the more militant of the Xindi races and were known to defy the Council and take matters into their own hands.
Dr. Webb joins the crew as the ship's Chief Science Officer. Dr. Webb first and foremost sees himself as a Scientist and isn’t afraid to take risks to achieve a result. Originally assigned to a ground based research team on Denobula, Dr. Webb was selected to join the Exeter crew when an accident left many of the research team dead or injured. Dr. Webb choses to avoid the subject, due to the sensitive nature of the disaster. He's extremely knowledgeable and confident in his abilities, however he's quick to annoy and avoids certain topics vehemently.
The Xindi were a very Xenophobic group of races, comprising of five distinct species. Back in 2153 the Xindi attacked Earth with a test weapon that killed 7 Million people in the Florida region of the North American Continent. Under the command of Jonathan Archer, the NX-01 Enterprise entered the Delphic Expanse and had many encounters with the Xindi.
Indeed. As I was saying, Gralik is welcoming us graciously, however we shouldn’t be too comfortable. Gralik supplied us with information that Crae may try to “test” us in some way.
There is a high amount of Dilithium in the moon sub-strata that is making scanning through the moon virtually impossible.
Commander Turner functions as the Chief Engineer of the Exeter. Turner has had a long career in Starfleet as a Lieutenant serving on a wide variety of ships as an Engineer. However, Turner has turned down promotion several times, opting to remain a Lieutenant. Unfortunately, given the option of retirement or promotion Turner accepted the promotion to Lieutenant Commander and the Chief Engineer role of the Exeter. She is outwardly confident in her abilities but lacks a drive in the world of promotion and is happily content in her role, seeking little else.
I believe he just sent them…let’s see…Wow, this is going to take some time Commander.
We just finished repairing the secondary and primary relay systems. We’ll be ready for departure, we’re running the final tests on the relays now.
Warp Core is standing by, matter/anti-matter mix is at optimal Captain. Computer simulation is…iffy, but we should be good to bring the ship to Warp One.
Brother to Sami Turner, he functions as the ships Senior Communications Officer as well as Chief of Security. He is well versed in xenolinguistics and is efficient in many forms of Combat. Malik and his sister typically have not served together, however, due to the scarcity of properly trained Communications Officers, there was little choice in his assignment to the Exeter. He sternly believes that his sister over-reached and got him reassigned to the Exeter and is not afraid to make his thoughts known about the subject, even though he is ultimately wrong.
Excuse me Captain, you’ll forgive me if I don’t reciprocate that sentiment.
I…well…frankly, yes sir. I am sure she had…SOMETHING to do with my transfer from New Berlin, where I was quite happy with my assignment to this…ship of yours.
I have to agree with the Commander, nothing in my briefs have shown that there have been any kind of tactical changes. In fact, I personally believe that their Military Technology has stagnated.
Lieutenant Richardson functions as the Helmsman of the Exeter. She is one of the newly promoted members of the ship's Senior Staff, having only served on one prior starship for only two months. Richardson has prior Helm experience as the Beta Shift Helm Officer. She is very outgoing and eager to please her Captain and friends.
On the shuttle ride up Captain, when the transporters at Starfleet Headquarters were taken offline I didn’t have much choice if I wanted to arrive before departure time.
Then I would say that the Exeter is quite impressive. I look forward to seeing what she’s capable of doing.
We’ve cleared space doors and are clear to navigate, Captain.
Admiral Nogura is referenced only by name in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Admiral Nogura is the person in charge of Starfleet Captain Assignments and is the Admiral who promotes and gives command of the USS Exeter to the new Captain.
Several days ago I dispatched the Enterprise to track down and assist the Exeter, which had been out of contact for some considerable time. Captain Kirk succeeded in his mission, however, it was a pyrrhic success. The entire crew of the Exeter was killed when a strange disease was brought up from Omega IV by the Away Team, the only survivor was Captain Tracey…who has been declared unfit for duty due to mental defect.
No, of course not. She’s being towed here for refitting and recrewing, I want you to personally oversee the operation.
Your other duties are going to be assigned to another Commander. It’s high time you got a command of your own.
Ensign James is one of the Engineers aboard the Exeter. He comes from Earth, a good worker, and has a very quick grasp of Engineering tasks.
(Surprise/Enthusiasm) Captain Lockhart! I’m sorry, I didn’t know you planned to visit Engineering, can I help you with anything?
(Enthusiasm) I couldn’t dream of a better assignment, Captain! The Exeter presents some amazing opportunities, not only with prototype equipment testing but we’re getting to revisit a special race of peoples and hopefully will get to help them.
(Enthusiasm) Thank you, sir! I am quite proud of my knowledge of Enterprise and her history, even up until the moment she was placed in the Smithsonian Institute Orbital Museum.
Ensign Boone is one of the Security Officers aboard the Exeter. He is from the Mars colony and is quick to react. Unfortunately, he’s envious of the dual role that Lt. Turner holds and believes the Chief of Security role should be a separate role from the Communications Officer.
Understood Doctor, I was told to give you this upon arrival.
Ensign Trask is assigned to the Medical Staff as a Nurse. She is chipper and has an amazing bed-side manner.
Thank you Doctor, I look forward to working with you as well.
The Main Computer of the Exeter which provides all data and computational control of the Exeter. This is a sound-a-like role and are searching for someone who can do a decent impression of Majel Roddenberry. See sample: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CDhEwhOm44
(Non Emotional) Working...data insufficient...please restate inquiry.
(Non Emotional) No data available.
(Non Emotional) Affirmative.
Gralik Durr was once a primary refiner and shipper of the substance Kemocite. After the events portrayed in Star Trek: Enterprise, Gralik lived a long life and became a key member on the Xindi Council, representing the Arboreals. His considered, elderly at this point in time, however still remains a major Council Member and supporter of joining the United Federation of Planets following years of isolationism following the Xindi Superweapon Incident and at the continued insistence of now deceased President Jonathan Archer, former CO of the NX-01 Enterprise.
Need I remind you of the considerable debt that we owe to Earth? After all we…I did to them?
The Xindi have been too adversarial for too long, our people need a singular purpose and place to call home.
The Federation may just have the answer, their “Interspecies Medical Exchange” has provided many races with unthinkable cures and treatments. Who knows what they have discovered at this point in time?
Crae is a Reptilian Xindi who remains a main proponent AGAINST the Xindi races. Believing that the Xindi should not have to rely on the outside help of others and should remain alone. However, he is biased against joining since the Superweapon Incident the Reptilians have been less than trusted by the other races given their stealing of the Superweapon and killing other Xindi in the process.
(Adversarial) You are a fool if you believe the Federation can do ANYTHING to help us.
(Adversarial) Because it is the only way I will allow the Federation to send a starship here. Without my vote, there will be no unanimous agreement.
(Adversarial) It is well known what you FEEL Gralik, your insistence on using it as a tool against the Council is demonstrated time and time again.
Assistant to Crae, believes that his superior is wrong but is afraid to voice his opinions.
He’s not looking for power, he’s looking to keep the status quo.
As far as I can understand, something in our genetic makeup allows us to withstand the effects of the current pandemic. Even allows us to survive in the harshest of climates with little to no sustenance for days, even a week at the most.
I think Crae would sooner see all the Xindi races perish before cow-towing to the Ferengi, I am not foolish enough to even suggest it to Crae.
Son of Gralik and his successor on the Council should Gralik pass away. He believes and knows that the Xindi races will fall into Civil War once again should the Federation decide to turn down inclusion of the Xindi.
I don’t understand why you don’t speak your mind more.
Crae was alive during the conflict with Earth, he’s held a grudge against the Earthers ever since the Reptilians were put in lockdown by the Council.
The Insectoids realized their mistakes early on and earned their way back into the Council’s good graces. The Reptilians, your people Janix, are still doing so. And yet, your people thrive and prosper, while the rest of us deal with starvation and medical pandemics.
