Englewood After Dark is a horror/drama audio drama following the adventures of Finn Nightingale and Eve Pemberly.
Finn and Eve started this podcast as a way to uncover the many secrets lurking on the haunted campus of Englewood University and, after facing down an ancient secret society, they are beginning to believe their own hype. Their most recent case, The Locked Room Murders, pushed them to their limits. Now, they must deal with the fallout.
Because Englewood really is haunted, and now, so are they.
We have one small recurring role in this call and several non-recurring roles, so please apply with that in mind. This is our last casting call for season 1! If you have already auditioned for us, please feel free to audition again. Lines will be recorded asynchronously.
Unfortunately this is not a paid opportunity, but we are working tirelessly on making it a successful drama.

Helena (34) is a small recurring role with 30 lines and a scream. She appears in two episodes, one depicting the moment of her death, and the other as a ghost at a seance where her son makes contact with her. Helena loved her son dearly, and is glad to be reunited with him, no matter how temporarily, in order to make him see that he shouldn’t feel guilty for her death.
(Concerned, stern parent speaking to a five-year-old) Your father tells me that you got in a fight at school yesterday.
(Concerned parent) You're not in any more trouble, Charlie, I just want to talk.
(Panicked as five-year-old unbuckles seatbelt while driving) Jesus, honey, you can't do that, that's really dangerous.
Chuck is a five-year-old non-recurring role with six lines and a scream. He appears in a flashback, reminiscing on his mother, Helena’s, untimely death. He is a precocious child with a little bit of attitude. He does have to scream at the end of his scene, as his mother’s car is crashed in to.
(Sulky, feels as though scolded unfairly) Timothy started it.
(Mom has taken his DS without pausing game) You didn't even pause it.
(Pure fear as they turn into oncoming traffic) Mom, look out!
Angela (58) is the paternal aunt of October Jones, the gang’s resident psychic. She is a small non-recurring role with seven lines. Warm toned older voice.
(Mild concern at the upset of others) Something wrong girls?
(At being called Mrs Jones. Exasperated, kind) I’ve told you to call me Angela.
(Handing over painkillers) Here you are, anyway. For your headache.
Emma (19) is a small non-recurring role with around four lines. She is a theater student at Englewood University and a good friend of one of the hosts, Finn Nightingale. She is a sweet person with a warm voice.
(Upbeat, teasing greeting) Hard at work or hardly working?
(Concerned, upbeat, teasing) Wow, and I thought I was tired. You’re like a zombie.
(Worried about a good friend) Of course. Hey, Finn, if you ever need anything, I’m here for you, okay?
A non-recurring role with four lines. An ex-secret society member, Lance offers a helping hand to the podcast gang when they run up against their latest foe. He is from an affluent background and has the misplaced confidence to go along with it but feels sheepish for his past actions.
In this scene, he is imparting information and trying to apologize, neither of which are being received well.
Heard what happened. Wanted to check on you. You’re alright, Huntington, you know?
You know what I mean, Hunt. Just, be careful, okay?
Come on, Hunt, don't be like that.
Visitor 1/ Visitor 2/ Ghost / TA
We have a few additional voices for this season, most being only one or two lines maximum. We will probably be casting multiple actors for these roles across the whole gender spectrum. Please feel free to experiment with different voices with different takes.
TA: Come on, Nightingale. It’s your slot. This class counts participation, you know.
Ghost: (Confused, summoned by seance, relieved to be free) Yes, I ... I followed your voices.
Visitor 2: This is a lovely thing you’re doing here, young man.
