"DUNE" THE AUDIO DRAMA (part 1)
Project Overview
Hey everyone! Welcome to my casting call for my audio drama reading of the Frank Herbert novel DUNE. This is a Pilot episode of the first 2 chapters of the book. I might continue the rest of the book if its not to much of a pain to make lol. The final product will be on Spotify and Youtube. Thank you for taking interest in my project, and have fun!

Also, if you get chosen for a role, whether its a character, or production role, there won't really be a deadline. I know the script is pretty hefty and we all have lives outside of, Editing, Music composing, and Voice acting etc so I'm very flexible when it comes to deadlines!

*LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF READING* The role of the Narrator is the most Important role/roles for this project. Multiple actors can be selected for the role of narrator to take turns reading, and bringing this book to life!
WHAT IM LOOKING FOR: Im looking to cast a few Male actors with deep, engaging voices, that really bring life to the script! (Also there may be some confusing words to pronounce, just guess for know, if you get cast I'll give a proper pronunciation to you!)

IN THE week before their departure to Arrakis, when all the final scurrying about had reached a nearly unbearable frenzy, an old crone came to visit the mother of the boy, Paul. It was a warm night at Castle Caladan, and the ancient pile of stone that had served the Atreides family as home for twenty-six generations bore that cooled-sweat feeling it acquired before a change in the weather.
Paul fell asleep to dream of an Arrakeen cavern, silent people all around him moving in the dim light of glowglobes. It was solemn there and like a cathedral as he listened to a faint sound—the drip-drip-drip of water. Even while he remained in the dream, Paul knew he would remember it upon awakening. He always remembered the dreams that were predictions. The dream faded.
The Reverend Mother is an elderly woman who's a part of the Bene Gesserit, an exclusive sisterhood whose members train their bodies and minds through years of physical and mental conditioning to obtain superhuman powers and abilities that seem magical to outsiders.
WHAT IM LOOKING FOR: Female actresses that can capture the sound of an elderly woman with a British accent, while expressing her sour demeanor. ALSO this role has lots of reading as well

“You’ve heard of animals chewing off a leg to escape a trap? There’s an animal kind of trick. A human would remain in the trap, endure the pain, feigning death that he might kill the trapper and remove a threat to his kind.”
“They tried… and died.”
The Lady Jessica is also a sister of the Bene Gesserit, she is also the mother of Paul Atreides. Jessica has also been training her son Paul in the Bene Gesserit way.
WHAT IM LOOKING FOR: A female actress that can portray Jessica's calculated, commanding side while also balancing it as a loving mother to Paul.
VOICE REFERENCE: Of course Rebecca Ferguson is a perfect voice type, but feel free to make the character your own!!

(worried for Paul but also doesn't want to leave The Reverend Mother waiting) “Reverend Mother is waiting in my morning room. Please hurry.”
(Internal Monologue- relieved) My son lives... My son lives and is... human. I knew he was ... but ... he lives. Now, I can go on living.
Princess Irulan is the eldest daughter of Padishah Emperor. Irulan only has one paragraph in the Pilot so your audition will be used as the final audio.
WHAT OM LOOKING FOR: A female actress that has a delicate and gentle voice that can portray the Royalty of Irulan while also expressing how calculated and intelligent she is. And overall just give your own interpretation of the character.

To begin your study of the life of Muad‘Dib, then, take care that you first place him in his time: born in the 57th year of the Padishah Emperor, Shaddam IV. And take the most special care that you locate Muad’Dib in his place: the planet Arrakis. Do not be deceived by the fact that he was born on Caladan and lived his first fifteen years there. Arrakis, the planet known as Dune, is forever his place.
This role will be open to multiple editors. your role is to edit the audio together in order of the script, including sound FX, music, volume leveling, and voice lines. Also adding voice effects to give depth to the voices, (echoing in larger rooms for example) TO AUDITION: send some past audio work you've done, either on this page or in my DM's.
