Destiny 2 Lore Project (Open Casting Call)

Destiny 2 Lore Project (Open Casting Call)

Project Overview

I think that the lore books in Destiny are very cool, and I’ve imagined doing a voiced version of them for a while. Now, I’m getting that project moving!

The plan is to create videos with voiced versions of the lore entries. I plan to add sound effects, some pretty backgrounds and animations, and upload it all to Youtube.

I would like to start and focus on the Forsaken era of lore books. The tentative order to start right now is The Forsaken Prince, The Man they Call Cayde, and Ghost Stories This is subject to change based on interest and who we are able to get casted early on. These will also probably be released simultaneously, so if you would like to audition for one of the characters in Ghost Stories, then you don’t need to worry about waiting months before starting to work on those.

There’s a tentative schedule in mind, so I do not plan on publishing anything until I am able to queue up a few videos beforehand. That means it may take a few months before the video goes live.

You also do not need to be the biggest Destiny fan! I think that is a great project for people who want to work on their narrating skills, so don’t hesitate to audition even if this is the first time you’ve heard about the game.

You do not need to have the best recording equipment or be an expert editor. I ask that you try to get the best audio quality you can, and I am willing to work with you if you need some help on that!

Thanks all! Please don’t hesitate to message me if you have any questions or would like to chat.

If you would like to be considered for a specific character (like Drifter, or Savanthun), or a specific class of characters (like one of the Fallen, or an Exo), please include those requests in the text portion of your audition. I will assume that you are still open to playing any other characters as needed and will reach out to you to see if you are interested in each case.

However, if you are exclusively looking at voicing a specific character/class of characters, please mention that as well. I will not reach out to you to play any other character.

Feel free to make multiple requests! I can’t guarantee that everyone who requests to voice Mara Sov (or any other character) will be able to, so I will do my best to get everyone playing a character that they would like to.

You may either submit an audition based on the lines provided (you do not need to do all three if you would not like to) or submit a reel. While I think it would be very cool to have characters sound similar to how they do in game, this is not an expectation. I really want everyone to have fun with this, so I don’t want to push too hard for accuracy over fun or style!

  • I remember the moment we were born.

There was pain, and loss, and a feeling of falling. Was this the end? The shadows gathered, colored bruise-purple and gray in Our fading consciousness.

Our shell cracked and splintered. Parts of Us were lost, or carried away. We felt those wounds, jagged and sharp. We could feel them still, attached by a gossamer-thin strand of understanding.

  • Nobody will turn out," he assures Jol. "We'll slip away at zenith. By the time anyone catches on, we'll be aerobraking into Meridian Bay!"

"You're insufferably cocky," Jol says, "and by the time we go, the whole city will know you're up to something."

    "They will not."

  • All joking aside—maybe I've made mistakes. Maybe some more recently than others.

Hard to believe, I know, but maybe it's true. Maybe.

Here's the thing about mistakes: you learn from them. Again, this is assuming the theoretical concept of me having made some mistakes is true. So, yeah, maybe that's what I'm doing. Trying to learn from these very hypothetical slipups. Turning inward, they call it. "They" being Ikora. Eris calls it something different. Eris calls a lotta things something different.
