Project Overview

Story Synopsis

Deadly Desires: LOVESTARVED is a horror/romance/sci-fi visual novel game project set in the same universe as one of my previously released games, Limbo Line. Players will assume the role of ‘operator’, a position designed to aid problematic souls stuck in Limbo to pass on to an appropriate destination.

The problematic soul in question is Loni Yaretzi (renameable & in the full version, choice of pronouns + character sprite), an apathetic cleaner living in Limbo’s Arcadia district who regularly uses Limbo’s unsanctioned escort service, Deadly Desires, in an attempt to cure her loneliness and perhaps even find love.

While utilising the services Deadly Desires provides, Loni encounters an escort named Erys, a sithys who requires love to live, and Loni soon finds herself stuck in a spiral of obsession and despair. It’s up to the operator to explore all the paths available to Loni and weigh in on her ultimate destination in the afterlife.

Please note that while the story involves discussion of the activities performed by escorts of Deadly Desires, it is not an R18 game. There is 1 suggestive scene that is visually SFW and primarily functions as a horror scene.

Game Jams & Release Details

This is a free project being created by a 2 person team for Otome/Josei Jam 2024. As the jam has a deadline of July 1st for submission, it means I will need lines delivered by 5th June to give me time to cut, edit, and implement them.

The full game script is around 50k words. For that reason, we only intend to release a demo/part 01 of the game in time for the end of Otome/Josei Jam so as not to overwork ourselves. This is about 17k words worth of the full script.

We will then continue to work on the full version of the game after the jam has finished, potentially releasing the full game for a different jam later in 2024.

We hope to eventually release a version of the game that will allow players to pick a masculine version of Loni as well as a feminine version of Erys. While I'm not currently looking to cast those parts, I will be sometime in the future.

Please note that I may close roles early/before the deadline set here on CCC (just because the sooner I can cast people, the more time it gives you guys to record since we're up against a jam deadline >.<)

    I’m not sure I even have the words to describe how incredible the response has been to Lovestarved’s casting call! It’s by far the most auditions I’ve ever received on a project that I’ve listed here, and I am beyond blown away by everything :D 


    With how many amazing auditions were submitted, it was a tough time trying to whittle them down to shortlists and ultimately choose people for each role, but it has also been an absolute joy to listen to everyone’s different takes on the characters :3


    I cannot thank you all enough for the time you’ve taken to submit such fun and passionate auditions, and I sorely wish I had the time myself to thank every single one of you personally, but that would be an impossible task >.<


    I also really appreciate all the luck and well wishes for the project! It means a hell of a lot, and we need all the luck we can get with how wonky things have been going in our lives, preventing us from having the chilled-out jam we were hoping to have this time around xD (My PC died, for starters, and my poor friend is having a whole bunch of other problems herself!)

Loni is the protagonist of the game, a human cleaner whose soul has been stuck in Limbo, unable to move on.

On the surface, at worst, Loni is apathetic about her afterlife in Limbo’s Arcadia district, but at her best, she is warm, sweet, and kind. Beneath the surface, Loni is feisty, fiery, and sometimes comes across as having a death wish.

To deal with her extreme loneliness, Loni, like many in Limbo, regularly pays for the services of escorts from Deadly Desires. Though, unlike most clients, Loni only books escorts for company, never for sex.

Because of the way the game works, Loni will only have spoken lines under specific conditions.

Erys is a sithys, the most hated species in Limbo. Like all sithys, Erys requires a form of energy in order to sustain himself. Unfortunately for Erys, he needs love. Jaded by the population's penchant for lust (a form of love that he considers the equivalent of mere scraps), Erys' hunt for true love and sustenance seems endless.


To survive, Erys masquerades as an escort working for Deadly Desires so that he can feed off of clients (and sometimes other escorts!) He hopes he might eventually encounter a client as desperate for love as he is.


While pretending to be an escort, Erys puts up an alluring air of sorrow and loneliness, an attempt to fool people into thinking he’s harmless, but when he shows his true colours, Erys can be sly, wicked, sinister, and surprisingly sweet.

Though he is the voice of radio, he has a tendency to switch between a more professional persona and that of someone recording for a true crime podcast when reading the latest headlines, unable to resist hyping up elements of stories here and there.


Charismatic and fearless, for many in Arcadia, Nico’s voice is their only companion, and he takes advantage of that, feeding off everyone’s desire for more.
