Dawnsbury Days minor characters
Project Overview
Dawnsbury Days is a 2D turn-based tactics game with CRPG elements that's based on the rules of PF2E, the second edition of a powerful tabletop OGL ruleset. It is the follow-up video game to Quest for the Golden Candelabra, which I released in May 2023. Quest for the Golden Candelabra is a free, 40-minute video game that currently has a 99% rating on Steam out of 200 reviews, largely driven by the fact that it's the first published video game built on top of this ruleset. Dawnsbury Days builds on top of Quest for the Golden Candelabra, adding an additional 15 levels, character customization, modding support and a lot more content. You can learn on my website or on the game's Discord server.
About this casting call: I'm looking for voice actors to play three minor characters that I forgot to include in the previous casting call.
Budget: All roles pay $5 total (that is, $1 per line, rounded up).
Timeline: The audition lines are the entirety of the content of these characters. I will cast based on the audition this January and contact you to give you compensation and to ask for your name for credits.
Atmosphere: Dawnsbury Days is a light-hearted good-versus-evil adventure where a group of young heroes prove their skill in their first adventures. The game attempts to emulate the feel of a tabletop roleplaying game, where characters use slightly exaggerated voices as the gamemaster must use a different voice tint for each character. In any case, most characters speak confidently, perhaps even theatrically, and in a strong voice.
Anti-AI clause: Your voice will not be used for AI, and no AI will be used in this project at all.

You're a skeletal warrior reanimated by an evil shaman to protect an artifact. You're evil and intelligent, but almost mechanical in your intelligence: you obey your master's orders without question. In this situation, the party of adventurers approaches you You matter-of-factly present them with the fact that you will block their passage and you then summon zombies.
Compensation: $5 total (for 3 lines)
Script:
Hero: A walking skeleton! An undead abomination ahead of us!
Skeletal Champion: You've come to take the Golden Candelabra. The shaman has commanded that none may pass to take it.
Hero: "The shaman"? You mean it was an orc spellcaster who reanimated you?
Skeletal Champion: Yes. He commanded that I kill anyone who tries to pass to the inner sanctum. I will execute his command now.
Hero: So orcs consort with the undead now! spits I only pity that I didn't leave the tribe earlier. Come, abomination! I will lay you to rest.
Skeletal Champion: Yes, I will come. But first: Rise and serve, bodies of the dead.

You've come to take the Golden Candelabra. The shaman has commanded that none may pass to take it.
Yes. He commanded that I kill anyone who tries to pass to the inner sanctum. I will execute his command now.
Yes, I will come. But first: Rise and serve, bodies of the dead. ["Rise and serve" is an incantation that reanimates zombies]
You are the disembodied voice of Archibald Dawnbringer, a powerful wizard who died a hundred years ago, but left behind a message in a magic mouth spell to inform adventurers who come to take an artifact that he created, the Golden Candelabra. Archibald's voice projects. You are calm, confident, and kindly, almost an announcer, and you treat the adventurers almost as children. Certainly they're far under your level of skill. You're not actually there: you're a recording.
Compensation: $5 total (for 3 lines)
Script:
Anna: Something is happening! I feel a surge of energy from the southern wall.
Archibald: Wait, citizens! You would take the Golden Candelabra away from the Dawnsbury temple?
Tok'dar: This temple has been abandoned, Protector, as it's too far away, in a land controlled by kobolds. We have built a new temple closer by.
Anna: I think that's a magic mouth, Tok'dar. It's only a triggered message. Whoever said this is long gone.
Archibald: Thankfully my magic detected that you are citizens of Dawnsbury. But only worthy heroes may move my artifact.
Anna: "My artifact"? Is this the voice of the Dawnbringer?
Archibald: Face now the gauntlet, citizens. If you pass, then you have my blessing to take the Candelabra.
Saffi: Ugh, does everyone give out blessings now? What's the point of even being a cleric then?
Scarlet: Monsters will summon next round by the southern wall.
Anna: Then let's assume good positions to tackle the Dawnbringer's trial head on.

You are a construct, a golem-like mechanical creature imbued with rudimentary intelligence. You were created to protect a hidden library of Archibald Dawnbringer, an ancient good wizard. In this scene, the heroes find you on the ground, half-broken.
You speak mechanically, but you're not a computer or a robot. You were reanimated by magic. The color of your voice is the same as of a human, you do not speak in syllables. However, the emotion in your voice is limited, and if you speak the same word twice, it's going to be with the same stresses and intonation.
Compensation: $5 total (for 4 lines).
Script:
Construct: Access denied... access denied...
Saffi: Is this... a golem? Do they really exist?
Construct: You are not allowed into the Sanctum. Turn back or you will be destroyed.
Anna: Golems aren't supposed to be able to speak. This looks like a more advanced creation.
Tok'dar: Advanced or not, it is in no condition to disallow anything. It can barely move its arms.
Scarlet: The demons must have broken it on their way down.
Tok'dar: What were you protecting, Construct?
Construct: I am the guardian of Dawnbury-1, an outpost of Archibald Dawnbringer. Dawnsbury-1 holds a library and the Prismatic Key.
Anna: One of Archibald's outposts. The demons must be after this key.
Scarlet: Both the attack on Dawnsbury, and the attack on the Golden Candelabra were just distractions.
Tok'dar: What is this "Prismatic Key", Construct? Why is it important?
Construct: The Prismatic Key allows you to-- allows you to-- allows you to-- (powers down)
Anna: A quick rest and refocus, everyone, and then we pursue the demons down into this outpost.
