Dawnsbury Days minor characters
Gwyn Aerohart for Archibald's Construct
You are a construct, a golem-like mechanical creature imbued with rudimentary intelligence. You were created to protect a hidden library of Archibald Dawnbringer, an ancient good wizard. In this scene, the heroes find you on the ground, half-broken.
You speak mechanically, but you're not a computer or a robot. You were reanimated by magic. The color of your voice is the same as of a human, you do not speak in syllables. However, the emotion in your voice is limited, and if you speak the same word twice, it's going to be with the same stresses and intonation.
Compensation: $5 total (for 4 lines).
Script:
Construct: Access denied... access denied...
Saffi: Is this... a golem? Do they really exist?
Construct: You are not allowed into the Sanctum. Turn back or you will be destroyed.
Anna: Golems aren't supposed to be able to speak. This looks like a more advanced creation.
Tok'dar: Advanced or not, it is in no condition to disallow anything. It can barely move its arms.
Scarlet: The demons must have broken it on their way down.
Tok'dar: What were you protecting, Construct?
Construct: I am the guardian of Dawnbury-1, an outpost of Archibald Dawnbringer. Dawnsbury-1 holds a library and the Prismatic Key.
Anna: One of Archibald's outposts. The demons must be after this key.
Scarlet: Both the attack on Dawnsbury, and the attack on the Golden Candelabra were just distractions.
Tok'dar: What is this "Prismatic Key", Construct? Why is it important?
Construct: The Prismatic Key allows you to-- allows you to-- allows you to-- (powers down)
Anna: A quick rest and refocus, everyone, and then we pursue the demons down into this outpost.
