D&D NPC Voices Needed Part Deux
Project Overview
I've created a mechanic in my game wherein my players will be able to gain Memory Points to unlock things called Memory Spheres, little scenes from the past that can help them with their various quests and plot lines or just for fun. This is where you come in! As a special treat to my players I want to have these scenes fully acted, mixed, and mastered. I'm an audio engineer, so I can do the SFX and everything, but I'd rather not talk to myself in these. I do that enough as a DM. And so I need wonderful actors and actresses to help bring these characters to life!
This project will update with more characters as I go along and write more of these memories. I'll try and give as much feedback as I can on auditions, but please understand I won't be able to get to everyone.
This is for personal use only and won't be used commercially in any respect. Should the scenes be posted on social media, full credit to actors and their respective roles will be included.
This has the chance to be ongoing, with each time being paid.
Please have high quality audio before auditioning. If you have a ton of background noise, are distorted, too quiet, or muffled, it is going to be an automatic no from me. I may ask you about your set up and offer suggestions if I love your delivery and tonality, but otherwise I honestly won't listen through.

Short List Coming Soon!
Thank you everyone for your auditions! I'll be listening through them all this weekend and those on the shortlist will be informed via comments :)
Yaela was an elf with an astounding magical ability to control the wind, so much so that instead of dying she literally became the wind. When she takes a corporeal form, she is a bit... of an air head. Very light and flighty speech, a bit "out there", and generally soft spoken. She loves riddles and often speaks in them. I'm looking, ideally, for a Nordic accent of some kind.
My grief and regret are marks I will forever bare. I did good things... but I also did terrible things. Things I can never take back.
It goeth with the wind,
It goeth with the sea,
Drink one of the three
And the portal beith free.
The crystals sing to me every night and I carry their song amongst my people, rousing them from their twilight slumber.
Mavine is driven by ambition and a lust for power and knowledge. She is a necromancer by trade, but overall an astounding wizard who is much smarter than her peers (and she knows it). She uses who she must to get to the top and there is little that can stop her. She should have a deep, resonating voice and a high-born English accent or something similar. She is a very classy lady who knows exactly what she wants.
Please only audition if you are black or a person of color.
Oh sweet child, do not be so silly. I am all you have left. I am all you'll ever have.
[furious] Give me that book or I shall rip your throat out!
I am sick of pathetic little men telling me what I can and cannot accomplish. I have stepped over each and every one of them and you will find your head under my heel if you do not get out of my way.
Elle is a sixteen-year-old warlock who ran away from home because she knew better than her parents... of course. Since then she's found herself the apprentice of Mavine, a necromancer, and, well, the embodiment of Death (yikes)? Least to say she is finding herself overwhelmed, but is trying to do as much right in her situation as she can. She is stubborn, naïve, quick to anger, and really just wants to have a quiet moment to read her books or find a way to travel the world.
[amazed] Are you really... can you really.... wow...
I... I can't let you do this. It isn't right, they've done nothing! Please don't hurt them!
Dad... I know this is broken... and you can't hear me, but I'm really sorry... I just want you to come home.
Caspian is tired. Perpetually. He is tired of people, in particular. He would much rather be left in his library with nothing but books and maybe a library cat. Instead he has to deal with all sorts of nonsense and he really just isn't into it. While he doesn't speak in a monotone, it's pretty close. Caspian chooses his words carefully and never says more than he has to. He is usually quite exasperated. He has a kind of snooty British accent and a lower voice.
Person of color preferred.
If you had bothered to read my letter, you would know that I do not have that edition, nor am I like to as they were all destroyed... 1000 years ago.
I'm not sure how I can put this any plainer. Shut. Up.
Please provide your best exasperated sigh.
Palsdottir is the past reincarnation of a main NPC in the campaign, and one who has visited the PCs in various dream scenarios. He is a priest (ie cleric) of Gaea, believes in the natural order of the world, has a strong affinity with nature, and is overall a sweet cinnamon roll who is trying to do the best he can. I'm looking for a softer southern accent. Not a drawl by any means, more like someone who grew up in the south, but then moved elsewhere... so there's just this lingering twang to his speech.
I keep trying to find you... to reach out to you, but there is a block of some kind. You won't let me... can't? No, won't. What are you afraid of? [sudden realization, becomes awkward] Well, besides everything, I suppose you actually have a lot of reason for having a hard no on this. Right. Sorry about that. I'll... stop talking now.
Your friends are in danger, more than you realize. You have to get out! WAKE UP!
[As if in a trance; he is speaking a prophecy] When that which has been lost shall be re-found and combined, that which fuels this world will come alive. Hark the past and present fears, for what you know may not be and instead be twisted to serve those who come.
A strict and pious Dragonborn with a host of regrets and sorrows. Ravena is a devout paladin of Amaunator, The Keeper of the Eternal Sun, and the Light of Law. As such, she believes in the law of the land and keeping order and peace. She has a special affinity for children. She is also the previous incarnation of a PC. Any accent is okay, as long as she is soft spoken, gentle, and methodical in her speech.
I do not feel worthy of the power bestowed upon me and wished often to be rid of it. However, that was the burden in itself. You cannot give life away.
Power will corrupt you, but not the knowledge of it. Seek the truth, find your answers, but do not consume them for your own gain. If you do, you shall fester until you are a shadow of your true self, a husk of all you could be.
My oath was broken, and I shall spend eternity making amends. But you, you are my new oath, and I shall never falter from guiding you.
Draewynn is a healer and possibly the kindest soul that ever lived. She lives to help the needy, tend to the sick, and will do so often at the expense of herself. For every time she heals, it takes away from her own life force. She sees this as her greatest gift, however, and does so willingly, even if those who love her beg her not to. She should have a sweet, soft voice.
You do not look yourself... please, let me tend to you. I can help. My name is Draewynn (dray-win)
[upset, more heartbroken than angry] This is my choice! It is my gift and I wish to give it to you... to HELP you! I could not live with myself if I did not, and yet you try and bar me from lending you aid. I love you. I will always love you, you stubborn fool. I do this for you... for us.
Rest, sweet child, for there is much to do and enough time to do it in. For now, please, allow me to ease your burden.
