Welcome to our Cowboy BeBop Abridged casting call!
Quick disclaimer: This casting call is actually for a friend on Discord, who is the official series creator. I'm simply a friend that's helping with the process.
We just have a few stipulations and rules:
1. Please keep all voices in English (unless specified otherwise).
2. This will contain some rather ... descriptive scenes, so we ask that all those that are auditioning are at least 16 years old.
3. We ask that all individuals auditioning provide their discord: we will be personally adding them add them send an invite to the server we are using for this project.
4. This project is Zero Budget. In other words, there are no paid roles.
5. This project (and audition lines) will contain spoilers.
6. Please do not slate your auditions.
7. Most importantly, don't slander others and put your passion into your role - we can't wait to see what you guys are capable of!
Understudy role open for our amazing protagonist! The director prefers a voice closer to the English dub :-)
"Look at my eyes. One of them is a fake because I lost it in an accident. Since then, I've been seeing the past in one eye, and present in the other. So, I thought I could only see patches of reality, never the whole picture."
"Hey, Jet, did you know that there are three things that I hate? Kids ... animals ... and women with attitude ... So why is it that have all three neatly gathered on our ship?!"
"I was younger then, I wasn’t afraid of anything, I didn’t think about dying for a second. I thought I was invincible. Then I met some girl. I wanted to live, I started to think like that; for the first time I was afraid of death. I had never felt like that before. Sigh, why do people stay longer in my head than they do in my life ... "
A big, tough guy who’s Spike’s partner in crime. He has a deep voice, but is generally a pretty aloof individual.
"Everything has a beginning and an end. Life is just a cycle of starts and stops. There are ends we don't desire, but they're inevitable, we have to face them. It's what being human is all about."
"When you and I first met, you told me something. You said that you had died once, that you had seen death. Why can't you just let it go? Forget the past."
" ... and here's your invoice for your livin' expenses."
The main villain of the story. He sounds like sounds like a cross between a dark elf and a supervillain ... Yeah, that's probably the best way to put it.
"When angels are forced out of heaven, they become devils. You agree, don't you Spike? ... He was a beast who lost his fangs; that's why he had to die, Spike. And that's why you have to die ..."
" A ravenous beast. The same blood runs through both of us. The blood of a beast who wanders, hunting for the blood of others."
" Why. Are. You. STILL. ALIVE?!"
"Close your eyes, Spike. Can you feel it? It's all just a dream ... this is all just one, bad dream."
"I was supposed to kill you. It was all set up. If I had, I would have been free."
"Why did you love me, Spike? Why did you have to love me?!"
Lin is a member of the Red Dragon Crime Syndicate along with his brother. He was partnered with Vicious for a majority of the story.
"I will protect you, for the honor of the Red Dragon."
"Don't you dare turn your back on me, y-you coward!"
"Don't dishonor yourself yet, Shin. We can make it through this - no, we will make it through this - for the honor of the Red Dragon!"
Younger brother of Lin. Somehow is familiar with Spike ...
"Spike, get out of here! I'll hold them off, just get out!"
"Vicious ... escaped?! WHAT?!"
"I'll handle it, don't you worry. You can count on me."
Rocco was a bounty hunter and a member of the Piccaro Calvino gang. Initially he is intimidated by Spike, but grows to like him quite a bit.
“Tell me, had we met earlier in life, would we have been friends?"
(emotional) "Master ... you see it? I was fluid like water ... "
"I have a proposition. When we get through this, can we go out for a drink?"
