This casting call will feature lines extracted from the script for the composition for the trailer.
Collision, derived from the novel written by Shay Desyrea, tells the story of 22-year-old college student Hana Cloet struggling to cope with the transitions from a sheltered but flawed life. She meets Monte Earl, who is alluring but carries a dark secret that is too difficult for Hana to bear. Despite the entire world telling them otherwise, they fall in love and have to navigate around the obstacles that stand in their way while helping each other move on from their pasts.
*This film is one of the most detailed projects I've ever worked on, with plans for a novel and original comp score. Rating is due to scenes of sexual content, strong language and mentions of violence. The whole film is set to release by the end of 2023 with an indefinite date.

Hana Cloet (pronounced: Ha-NUH Clo-eht), the main protagonist. She is a wallflower, chastised, and pure. Her life consisted of musical arts and academics and she hardly had an interest outside of this. She feels out of place and her inexperience is a trigger for her. *The ideal candidate for this role is Korean/of Korean descent, preferably Asian American/of Asian descent at minimum, but this is not required due to lack of availability.*

(NARRATIVE)My name is Hana Cloet.I was just the world’s average girl with average friends, average parents and an average life. But every story is known to have a climax.
(sobbing) It would’ve been gracious if she were still here… it’s not fair.
(whispering)Please don’t leave me… I don’t want to lose you, too.
Monte (pronounced: Mah-n-TEE) Earl is a non-disclosed and unlabeled bad boy with a secretively big heart. He comes from a very troubled, controversial past, but makes up for it by trying to be a better man.

[Monte and Hana's hands touch when Hana hands him his coffee order during her shift. They lock eyes.] (longingly) Hey...
Starting line (reference only): "What's your story, Monte Earl?" (alluring) Why do I have to have one?
(infatuated) If I didn't know any better, I'd think that I was falling in love with you.
Rachel Blackmar is a badass, ride-or-die best friend to Hana Cloet. She combats her festered trauma with outlandish and promiscuous behavior, but doesn't let her past determine her outlook on the world around her. She is tough as nails, blunt and loyal.

[Rachel and Hana are walking onto the campus of Port University.] I'd kill to have that kind of relationship with my parents.
(sympathetic) She was my family, too, so if you ever need anything -- anything at all -- I'll take care of you.
I've never seen him around here before. How long has he been going to Mac's?
Italian heartthrob Chase Russo is a last-year at Port University, who unintentionally becomes a part of Hana's life. He at first has his eyes set on her, but dates Rachel due to Hana's pursuit of Monte, and remains a close friend of hers, offering support wherever he can. He is one of the first to admit suspicion of Monte's character, but allows Hana to be happy. *In the novel, Chase is depicted as Italian American and this accent/ethnicity is preferred but not required as it is not a vital part of his character or Hana and Monte's story.*

[Hana, Rachel and Chase are discussing Monte after Hana's initial impression of him. The conversation takes place the same day in the campus yard.] (plainly) He's a weird kid, just for him to keep to himself all the time.
(empathetic, slightly somber) We just don't want to see you get hurt.
[Hana sees an empty seat beside Chase after entering the classroom. She is obviously shy and needs some form of validation.] (Reference line: "Is this seat taken?") Huh? Oh, no, of course not! Have a seat.
Hana's father, a centrist military grunt who is protective of his daughter. Hana continued to reside with him after the loss of her mother. He works as an attorney.

Last day of your senior year... (soft & somber) your mother would be so proud of you.
[Hana and Henry were told of her mother's demise. The conversation takes place not long after the authorities have given the news.] (numbing) The police are saying it was probably instantaneous. At least some grace was given.
[Monte is being referenced. He has just discovered, after several weeks, that Hana has been officially dating him in secret.] (authoritative) This boy isn’t right for you, Hana! You don’t understand what he is!
Monte's father, who is a traveling business man. He is a bitter man who is oppositional of his son due to his past mistakes. He is generally disdainful and cares solely about himself.

[Donnie has just learned of Hana's existence. He is talking down to his son.] She’ll never speak to you again once she discovers what you’ve done.
[Monte is in the process of leaving the residence, but his father, being the bad influence that he is, is attempting to hold him back to drink with him. He is not overtly friendly. Every thing he does is meticulously pondered and has a cynical purpose.] There you are, son! Come on in here, have a drink with me.
[In speaking with Monte after being confronted on his excessive drinking.] (abrasive) What are you — my mommy? Don’t fuckin’ worrry about it. (calmer) You want some?
