NEO Madness is the third installment in the Undertale: Glitched Universe series, a narrative inspired by Undertale and Glitchtale.
SYNOPSIS
In a prequel to the hit films “Descended Scientist” and “The Last Hope,” Bête Noire launches an attack on the city’s biggest refuge, aiming to cripple the world’s defenses, and draw out the elusive Chara. Recognizing this as a second chance after her last attack, Mettaton takes the stage, hoping to seize his moment and finally be the shining hero for the surface that he’s always aspired to be.
PROJECT DETAILS
This is a multi-animator project (MAP), with over 30+ members taking part in it. We seek skilled animators, background artists, voice actors, and music composers. This project operates on a voluntary basis, which means all roles are unpaid. The full animation will not be monetized on Youtube.
The project comes with a finalized script, character and scenery references/sheets, and color palettes designed for different lighting setups, which will make the job easier for animators and background artists. The animators follow the storyboards when animating their parts. The NEO Madness team is really friendly and laid-back, making sure there's open communication with the project members and hosts.
REQUIREMENTS
Making a Discord account is strongly advised for effective communication with the project hosts and project members. When auditioning for the project, be sure to provide your contact information in the audition, such as Discord, Twitter, Email, etc. The casting call for the project is estimated to end in January 2024.
VOICE ACTORS
For each character that needs a voice actor, there are two-three lines available for you to record. When you're done, submit your recordings in the audition. If you have too many takes or if your files exceed 8MB, please upload everything to google drive and add the link in the notes for the audition.

The Neo Madness Team
Mettaton takes center stage as the main character in NEO Madness, meaning this is a lead role. He's a confident, charismatic, and charming robot that is also a TV host who thrives on drama, action, and a bit of violence. Mettaton is obsessed with attention and ratings, and he absolutely revels in the art of performance. However, despite his self-centered personality, he deeply cares about the impact of his shows. He's got soft spots for both monsters and humans, willing to create an environment where everyone feels safe and protected around him.
Mettaton's voice is like the ringmaster of a circus or the announcer in a sport. It's bold and loud, with elegant tones.It has zesty and fruity tonality, think of James Charles as an example, but not as extreme. Akin to highschool girl gossup.There's a bit of slyness to it, a touch of charm that's endearing. Imagine Funtime Foxy's voice, but a bit more feminine version of it. That's the kind of a voice we are going for.

Isabelle plays a minor role in NEO Madness, meaning this is a supporting role. She is Mettaton's manager, the one organizing most of his shows. Because of her rough attitude, Isa has always had a hard time making friends out of a fear of being judged for who she is, she tends to keep people at arm's length, not always on purpose. Back in the studio days before the monsters showed up, she never really got close with her co-workers. Mettaton, someone who is very experienced with having a close friend who is shy, unsure of herself and pushes people away out of fear, becomes the one to see Isa beyond her rough exterior and they become close comrades. She's still got that attitude, but he takes it all in good fun because it makes the show more interesting. She cares about him a lot, for being one of the only people to accept her. When support is needed, she's more than willing to step in and show it.
When it comes to Isa's voice, we need to find a good balance between someone who isn’t the easiest to talk to, but can still show that she cares, preferably through little things. We are imagining more of a deeper voice for her. Like not full on emo but clearly she’s not the most approachable person.

Muffet plays a minor role in NEO Madness, which means this is a supporting role. She is a spider-like monster with lavender skin. She shares a bitter rivalry with Grillby, another monster, when it comes to competing for business in town. Their competition goes beyond dirty looks, with daily battles for customers. Don't let her intimidating exterior fool you as Muffet has a caring side. She despises bullies and goes all out to put them in their place. She has her own pet, a spider companion that follows her everywhere and shields from any threats.
Being in charge of her own bakery and someone who is quite… persistent about selling her products, we imagine she would have a pretty bossy kind of attitude, to an almost uncomfortable degree. She’s not really one to get scared or take anyone’s crap for any reason. The whole spider-lady thing adds to that more high pitched kind of tone. Based on her Undertale interactions, she can kind of be a bit sadistic (which means to gain pleasure from someone’s suffering or humiliation). Like how she had Frisk tied up and giggles when he struggles. She behaves that way to people who she believes deserve it tho, like evil spider-haters like Betty. The tiny portrayal of her in Glitchtale showed that she cares enough about the well being of her fellow monster to help rescue Mettaton without even being asked to. Think of Sonata Dusk's voice from MLP, that's the voice we're going for.

Grillby plays a minor role in NEO Madness, meaning this is a supporting role. Grillby is a fire-like monster from Snowdin, a monster of few words and even fewer emotions. He is a bartender that is very competitive when it comes to his rivalry with Muffet, another monster, for business in town. He works tirelessly all day in order to keep his diner the most popular in town.
We imagine him as one of those super intimidating bartenders that doesn’t talk unless he’s pushed to a certain point. So when he does talk, he's always spitting fire. Figuratively of course. Grillby should have a very modulated voice, he should speak very clearly. He should have a very exasperated voice, as if he was tired of the situation he's in. He should have a very resonant tone, speaking very sharply (exaggerating the S in steep for example).
True quality doesn't need a steep price tag, Muffet. It stands on its own.

We don't enforce the use of specific software for everyone. You are more than welcome to animate in your preferred animation software. Since the project includes background artists, animators won't have to make backgrounds for their parts. Additionally, the project already features sets of color palletes designed for specific lighting setups. This is expected to significantly improve your overall experience.

We don't have specific software requirements, so feel free to use your preferred software. The music will be composed once the animation has been completed.
The project will include five fight scenes. We're aiming for a dark and gloomy atmosphere in the animation overall, so the OST will have to capture those vibes.

We're looking for one or two storyboard artists to help us bring the remaining part of the script to life. This scene is a talk between two characters and doesn't involve much action. Use any software you prefer as we don't have any specific requirements.

We're seeking additional voice actors to fill the roles of a few background characters. Right now we're in need of one voice actor for the part of a young girl and another for a female city guard tasked with evacuating citizens of the Determino district to the arena, the largest refuge in the district.
Additional context for the lines:
The girl's line should convey a sense of fear as she spots Bête Noire, the main villain, lurking on one of the rooftops near the arena.
The guard's line should project vibes of authority while laced with undertones of uncertainty. She's unclear about the exact threat they're facing but is determined to protect the civilians.
Look! It's her! The pink-haired girl! That pink girl who’s been behind everything! We saw her on the rooftops!
