Project Overview
Broken past is a 15-20 minute short action/thriller film, created by Nap Studios. This production has three main body actors with three stunt-doubles and a small production team behind the scenes. This film is being filmed in Virtual Reality utilising real-time motion capture.
We are introduced to Maki, a normal guy just trying to live his life and escape his past. However, the more he tries not to face it, the more present it becomes. He has a difficult decision to make, what will he do?
This film is an indie project, written by myself SlapNap. Over the course of two years I have edited the characters and developed the story line with the hope of creating a feeling that I once had from watching a certain action series and sharing it with others.
Roles
There are 3 paid roles for this film needing to be filled. Two are main characters, Maki and Gaku, and one is a side character, The Leader. For more information on each character, check bellow.
The two main characters have around 40-45 lines, whereas the side character has 3 lines in total.
Voice Acting Information
For this film the voice acting should be as realistic as possible, even though the characters are models and motion captured, the film is set in an alternative-reality.
The voice lines will be recorded with ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) as I have pre-filmed the footage and need to dub over it. AABBCC
Microphone
The quality of your microphone should be pretty good (USB/XLR microphone). Try to have no background sound, I understand sometimes it can't be helped.
General notes
To apply to a role you must be over the age of 18 years old.
If you're selected for the role you will have to be in a discord call with the director whilst recording lines. This is so we can perfect the lines at utmost efficiency.

Payment
Payment for the roles will be made through PayPal, once all lines are recorded.

Maki is the main character of this short film. He is a normal guy just trying to live his life, yet he has a very dark past, which he is trying to move away from. Throughout the film he realises that he has no other option, but to face it.
He is very level-headed, however if certain things are brought up, his mood can switch very quickly and he can become very defensive/annoyed. He is also very secretive and can sometimes be stand-offish.
The voice actor for this role, should have the ability to switch moods very quickly in conjunction to the main character. They will also need to be overwhelmed with emotion in some lines, keeping it to a tone of realism.

[Sobbing in pain] "I couldn’t open it. I-I tried, I tried so hard… but... I couldn't do it... I'm sorry"
[Frustrated] "Look we don't have much time, he's probably making his way up the stairs as we speak-"
Gaku is also a main character in this short film. He is an old friend of Maki's who hasn't seen him for a while. He has been having problems with his girlfriend and has come to vent to his friend, however he comes to learn that Maki isn't who he thought.
He is a fairly laid back guy who is dealing with a lot of personal problems. He is very perceptive and fairly intuitive.
The voice actor for this role needs be good at sounding annoyed/frustrated in a way of betrayal, yet not too over the top. Also worn-out/depressed.

[Worn out/Seeking advice] "*sigh* Do you ever look back at your past? Like reminisce?"
[Annoyed/Irritated of being lied to] "I mean, I've known you for like years and you can't even tell me the truth!? What, am I just a cover or some shit... like wh-?"
This character only has a few lines in the film. He is a manipulative person, who shifts their tone to get what they want. He has an ulterior motive and doesn't care how he gets it.
The voice actor should have the ability to shift tone to sound manipulative. Realistic
