Batman: Mask of the Phantasm - The Audio Drama (PAID)
Project Overview
Hello! Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is one of my favorite films of all time, and as such, I decided to rewrite the story and adapt it into an audio format! The final product will be uploaded to my YouTube channel: SoloHGaming, upon completion, and on other platforms such as Spotify as well! Below are a few guidelines (and some general info) to keep in mind if you wish to audition (:
1. Discord is not required, but it is preferred as it allows for me to contact you easily. If you do have a Discord, (or some other form of contact: email, etc.) please leave it in your audition description.
2. I am known to be a bit of a stickler when it comes to microphone quality, so XLR microphones are preferred, but not required to audition. Just keep in mind that your microphone quality will impact your chances of being cast in this project.
3. As you likely already noticed, this is a paid project. Actors will be paid as soon as lines are delivered via PayPal or Cashapp. Though please be open to line retakes if necessary.
4. Of course, you don't need to be familiar with the film to audition, but if the character you're auditioning for appears in the film, I do recommend watching the video sample that I'll have associated with that character prior to auditioning. I'm not necessarily asking for impressions, but it should help to give you a better understanding of the character if you're unfamiliar with the film.
5. If you're cast in the project, you'll have at least 2 weeks to deliver your lines. This is not a hard deadline and will depend on your character.
6. Perhaps my most important guideline: have fun and be respectful of one another (:
I'm genuinely looking forward to hearing from all of you, thank you!

Casting is officially complete! And I want to once again thank all of you extremely talented individuals for trying out for this project, I genuinely had an extremely difficult time deciding who to cast for each role, so don't feel discouraged if you weren't chosen this time around (: When the final product is completed, you'll be able to find it on my YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgzEdrh756XF41auIeKwQEA/featured I hope to see you all there in the (hopefully) near future. Thanks again everyone.

Casting will be decided upon shortly!
I have been truly amazed with each and every one of your auditions, so even if you don't end up getting cast this time around, don't feel discouraged! It means a lot to me to see that this many people would be interested in working on this. Thank you all for your amazing submissions, casting will commence soon! (:
As the lead role aside from Batman himself, Andrea is a very important part of this story. I'll leave some clips below that showcase her voice in the film. As far is the voice is concerned, I think that Dana Delany did a wonderful job in the film, and I am looking for something similar in this adaptation. It's a very sultry, yet deeply pained interpretation of the character, and I would love to have something like that for my audio version. Of course, if you want to try something different, that is perfectly okay, I'm not necessarily looking for an impression here. Regardless I would recommend viewing the video clips below for some inspiration when auditioning for this role (:
Voice example 1: https://youtu.be/_3CJHN6bBzk
Voice example 2: https://youtu.be/zQl36GSUeeQ
Voice example 3: https://youtu.be/zGrc_ferbbI
(Condescending, but slightly flirtatious)
"Trying to raise the dead, are we Bruce?"
(Infatuated, romantic)
"(small laugh) Bruce, you've got more tricks up your sleeve than I thought. (Sultry tone, almost a whisper) Can you dance, too?"
(Worried, distressed)
"The reality of the situation is... After my mother died, my father needed the extra money. He's always told me that it's 'necessary' for my future, no matter how many times I try to talk him out of it. Now I'm just afraid that he's in too deep. That he won't be able to reach the surface in time."
Though Chuckie doesn't have many lines, this will be the first voice we hear in the story, so it's very important to have a strong actor for this part! He does appear in the film (I'll leave a clip below) but in my adaptation, I characterize him as more of a grunt worker who's always doing manual labor. A generic mobster accent is preferred, but not necessary.

(Mumbling, depressed)
"Man... Why do I always get stuck with the lousy jobs..."
(Condescending)
"Ahhh, come to our senses have we! Now let's get goin', where the hell have you been anyway?"
(Slightly upset)
"Don't feel like talkin' eh? Me neither... Difference is I got some sense kid. It's called respect, clearly you didn't get the memo. (Under his breath) I don't believe this..."
Buzz only has one real line, so if you're cast for this role, you won't have to record anything extra. Because of this though, I will need the terrified whimpering and death scream that I listed above to make sure I have everything I need. He has a very stereotypical gangster voice in the film, which should work for my version as well.
Voice example: https://youtu.be/E8s5mJOzAbQ
(Terrified, about to be killed)
"NO! PLEASE! WHAT DID I DO-"
(Terrified Whimpering)
(Pained screamed as he's attacked and killed)
Valestra plays a larger role in the film, but in my adaptation he only has one scene where he's trying to recruit The Joker to protect him. He is (understandably) extremely nervous all the while, so keep that in mind for your audition. Otherwise, I think that his voice in the film is great, so that could be a good starting point.
Voice example: https://youtu.be/MVy9DFwT-4o
(Unnerved, extremely nervous)
"I take it you know why I'm here. (Pause) Well in case you, uh, didn't hear, a couple of the boys from the old crew are, well... dead."
(Nervous yet desperate)
"Look... I don't know who it could be, but... Do you think you can help me out here? They'll be coming for you next anyways."
(Trying to save face)
"Oh, it was never personal! You were just... The best at all that, that's all."
This is one of three women accosting Bruce Wayne for not spending time with them and flirting with him. I'd like something similar to the scene in the film which I'll link to below, but I'd like to keep the portrayal of women more respectful than in the film, so keep in mind that this will be toned down while auditioning. Also, if I cast you for any of these three roles, you won't need to record any additional lines (:
Voice example: https://youtu.be/eu4pjff0Kmk
(Flirty, yet insincere)
"Bruce! Come dance with me! What are you doing just standing there, anyway?"
(Upset)
"Come on Bruce!"
(Upset)
"Bruce, you've been in there forever!"
Another of three women accosting Bruce Wayne, details are the same as the first listing, but the lines are different (:
(Flirty, yet insincere)
"Yeah Bruce, you've been standing around all night! It's time to let loose a little, come on already!"
(Upset)
"Where are you going?!"
(Upset)
"Come back already, Bruce!
Another of the three women accosting Bruce Wayne, details are the same as the first listing, but the lines are different (:
(Flirty, yet insincere)
"Dance with me Bruce, it looks like you could use a little company..."
(Upset)
"You're coming back right?!"
(Upset)
"I'm ready for our dance, Bruce!"
A gangster that works for Buzz Bronski guarding his warehouse. I would like a generic gangster voice and accent, but this thug is a little less serious than the second, so keep that in mind while auditioning.
"So, don't ya' think Mr. Bronski's been actin' a little goofy lately?"
(Clueless)
"No kidding? They go way back, huh?"
(Terrified upon seeing Batman)
"SHIT! IT'S HIM!"
Another thug working for Buzz Bronski, but he takes things much more seriously than his counterpart.
(Exasperated, shocked)
"Shit, you read the paper lately pal!? Somebody iced Chuckie Sol last night... The boss is prolly' thinkin' he's next."
"Yeah, Sol and Bronski have been in business with Sal Valestra for years now."
(Horrified upon seeing Batman)
"BATMAN?!!"
As far as art is concerned, I don't think I'll need much. I'm mainly just looking for a cover and maybe a poster to promote the project. I would prefer if you're familiar with Batman and this film specifically though, as I'd like something similar to the artwork that the film had. If you have some samples of your past work, I'd love to see them (:
