I'm looking for a variety of talented voices to portray characters that will be appearing in Episode 5, also known as the Diadem arc.
This casting call is for supporting, minor, and one-shot characters. One-shot characters are performances where only the audition will be needed for the final product, unless redos are needed. These are marked with the words and asterisk: (One-Shot)*
Some of these roles are open to all (regardless of what it says under "Gender"), please refer to the orange tags under each character.
This casting call is open to both new and experienced voice actors alike. If you've just started voice acting and want to give it a proper shot, this might be the perfect project for you. Give it your best, and have fun!!
Note: I may occasionally comment on an audition or give feedback. If I do not give you feedback, please do not take it personally! It does not mean I prefer an audition over another. Everyone will get a fair shot, and rest assured, these characters will not be cast before the given deadline.

CHARACTERISTICS: COMPOSED, DIGNIFIED, ELOQUENT, WARM, NOBLE
Recurring character, appears in episode 5 and reappears in later episodes. Has 99 lines total in Episode 5.
Met with tragedy in his youth and forced to grow up quickly, King Ladekahn is Diadem's beloved ruler, and Gibari's childhood friend. He is a man of high principle, and his honorable nature nearly costs him his life. Ladekahn is knowledgeable about ancient legends, and readily passes this information to the party when asked. He is also rational and forgiving, showing compassion to Lyude, a former Imperial Soldier who defects during Ladekahn's attempted assassination.
Looking for a regal and (mostly) composed voice, (comparable to Prince Dion from FF16, Prince Dimitri / Prince Diamant from Fire Emblem, or King Rauru from Tears of the Kingdom), that is engaging and good at narration! Less formal around his friend, Gibari.
(facing the Empire, bravely, voice steady) It is I, King Ladekahn! I'm coming out. Hold your fire!! Order your men to pull back, and take me to your Emperor.
(defiant, after being shot, losing his calm) Argh! Damn you! Is this the way of the Empire? The way of your Emperor, Geldoblame?!
(purposeful, summoning his energy) Yes. His ambitions must be foiled! Diadem will be ready to face the Empire if necessary. (when asked to rest) No, I’m fine. (with familiarity) I’m not that fragile. Compared to the injuries of my youth, this is only a scratch. You know that well, don’t you Gibari?
AGE: EARLY TO MID 20s
VOICE RANGE: MID HIGH - MID - MID LOW - ALTO
CHARACTERISTICS: SADISTIC, CALLOUS, CRUEL, GLEEFUL
Recurring character who reappears in later episodes. Has 22 lines total in Episode 5.
A cruel woman who takes great pleasure in making her targets suffer. She is given the task of assassinating King Ladekahn, but draws out his torture for as long as possible, ironically giving him a chance to be rescued. She and Kalas have a tense history - two years ago, she initiated the attack that resulted in the death of Kalas' younger brother and grandfather. She is fast on her feet and can use chaos to her advantage.
Character-wise, she is comparable to Carmilla from the Castlevania animated series. Ruthless, motivated by personal trauma, and a bit crazy, but not in a Jared Leto-Joker kind of way. Controlled chaos.

(gleeful, sadistic, ruthless) The man is spewing out his last words. Might as well grant him a little glory. So, where does His Lordship want to be shot next? (laughing cruelly) Ah ah ah ah!!
(recognizing Kalas, intrigued) You… I know you. That crazy old man’s… (chuckles) This is getting interesting. Must be my lucky day. It’s getting more fun by the minute. You won’t be getting away this time.

CHARACTERISTICS: STERN, ARROGANT, HARSH
Recurring character. Reappears in one later episode. Has 36 lines total in Episode 5.
Lyude's commanding officer and a devoted servant to the Empire. He was sent on a mission by Emperor Geldoblame to execute Diadem's King. Harsh, cold, and adept at following orders without question. He is committed to his cause, disgusted by weakness, and will not hesitate to put down weak soldiers, even if they were formally loyal Empire citizens.
Ideally looking for an actor with an English (RP) accent, but open to all!
(harshly, to Lyude) I don’t recall asking for your opinion, boy. I am acting under a direct order from the Emperor. An order, I am quite sure, you are in no position to challenge. Don’t tell me you still believe that nonsense about the infidels being equal to the Empire’s chosen elite!
(cold, domineering) Have you already forgotten why you were exiled to this godforsaken land, Ambassador? One would think foolishness would have its limits.
(irate) Ambassador Lyude! You dare to defy the Emperor? (growling) To threaten your own people? To think that you’d stoop so low... You’re finished… traitor!
AGELESS
VOICE RANGE: MID - LOW - SOPRANO - ALTO - TENOR - BARITONE - BASS
CHARACTERISTICS: MYSTICAL, MYSTERIOUS, MAJESTIC
The ageless guardian of the Shrine of Winds. Appears in the form of a monstrous bird. Kalas and company must beat them in battle to obtain a piece of End Magnus. For reasons unknown to the party, the Lord seemingly speaks to Kalas directly, prophesizing that his actions would lead the world to its destruction. Has seven lines total.

Imagining a type of voice befitting the likes of a mythical beast, like Mewtwo or Entei from Pokemon, or Kamaljiori from The Legend of Vox Machina. This boss is a somewhat neutral entity who is guarding a dangerous treasure. You can play them like a villain, or more neutrally! Open to interpretation, and to masculine, feminine, or androgynous voices.
(warning, somber) Prepare thyself, woe-laden child… Powers of the god long deceased, once awakened...can never again be set to slumber.
(when questioned, answering) You know well enough… Your pain will lead the world to the abyss of sorrow and despair… Yet you refuse to relent.
(beaten in battle, weakened) Behold the oath of Malpercio…
AGE: MID 30s to 50s
CHARACTERISTICS: STAUNCH, RELIABLE, AUTHENTIC
VOICE RANGE: MID - MID LOW - LOW - ALTO - BARITONE - BASS
King Ladekahn's senior knight, dedicated and loyal. He warns the King against striking a deal with the Empire, and rushes to his aid when his gut feeling turns out to be right. He leads the restoration of the town and castle in the aftermath of the Empire's attack. Has 35 lines total.
Looking for a voice that is aged, mature and commands attention, but also has room for gentleness, as befitting of the King's most trusted knight and advisor.
(relieved) Could it be?! You made it, Gibari!! I’m glad ... truly glad to see you! The Empire invaded so suddenly. That’s why they were able to force their way so far into the castle. Can you manage to get to the king and protect him?
(worried, indignant) My Lord! Please reconsider! They are not to be trusted!! (Context: King Ladekahn is planning to go to the Imperial Capital to speak with the Emperor.)
(serious, reluctantly giving their word) Whatever the cost, My Lord. (Context: The Head Knight has been ordered to protect the castle in the King's absence.)
AGE: Early 20s to Early 30s
A desperate young man who pleads for Gibari's help in rescuing King Ladekahn, alluding to Gibari's prior knighthood. Has 9 lines total.
Is that you, Gibari?! (pleading, earnest) Please do something! You must save the King! If anyone, you’re the one who can do it!
(relieved, calming down a bit) Yes, yes… Thank god. Imperial soldiers stormed the castle, but they were held off at the inner wall.
(gratefully) Thank you! We’re counting on you, Gibari!
Various Imperial Soldiers who invade Diadem on Emperor Geldoblame's orders. Soldier #4 has three lines. Soldier #5 has four lines. Soldier #6 has seven lines.
Most of these soldiers are enthused at their job and committed to their mission.
I'm not looking for any particular kind of accent, just confident (perhaps a bit rough or snooty) voices befitting that of a loyal Imperial Soldier grunt. Looking to cast multiple actors for this role.
Soldier #4: (threatening, shouting) You there! Get back inside! Stay indoors if you value your hides!
Soldier #5: (enthusiastic, relishing in power) It was hilarious, the way everyone panicked when we arrived… Running all over the place like headless chickens! (snickering) Oh, how I’m glad I was born a citizen of the glorious Empire! What better way to show my gratitude than to serve the Emperor?
Soldier #6: (addressing the main party, domineering) You there! You’re not from Diadem, are you? You came at a bad time. I don’t care if you’re travelers. Stay right where you are.

While most of these soldiers are enthused at their job, one (soldier #7) has a conscience and questions the purpose behind the attack.

Soldier #8: (agitated) Can’t get away from these blasted clouds! They’re everywhere! The sooner this is all over with, the better! I can’t wait to get off this cloud-infested rock and back to our glorious homeland.

(worried) I see the castle burning ... Black smoke is rising everywhere ... I wonder if my father is safe…

A young woman married to a knight who is aware of the dangers of his job, but still desperately needs reassurance. Four lines total.
(trying to reassure herself) My husband is a knight. He always tells us that a knight’s duty is to protect the king and the people, whatever the cost. He may be risking his life as we speak. I will wait, hoping… (correcting herself) I have faith he’ll come home.
Age: Mid 30s to Early 50s
A mother worried beyond belief for her son, who serves as a Knight of Diadem. She wishes he would run instead of fight. All of her lines are here, three lines total.
(in tears) My son is in the castle. I knew this would happen eventually, but I simply can’t stop worrying… I wish he would run for his life, instead of staying to fight and die in battle.
Age: Mid 30s to Early 50s
A brave father waiting for his son to come home from battle. All of his lines are here, four lines total.
It seems that Castle Elnath is under siege. My son should be in the castle, protecting the King.
(resolute) I’ll stay here and protect our home. The Empire will never lay hands on my beloved family.
Age: 20 to 30s
A young man who has faith in his King and the knights. Three lines total.
No need to worry so much. We might not be able to fight off the Empire with a direct confrontation, but with King Ladekahn leading us, we will prevail and survive. I have faith in him.
Age 8 - 12
A brave child promising to protect his friend, and who has faith in the King's knights, 4 lines total.
(encouraging, playful) Hey, don’t worry! I’m here to protect you! Plus, the knights in the castle are the best of the best. They’ll make short work of those stupid soldiers.
Age 8 - 12
A young child worried for her family's safety, three lines total.
(doubtful, fearful) What’s going to happen to us? A lot of soldiers came, carrying big weapons… Many more than the knights in the castle.
Age: Mid 20s to 40s
The Mayor of Sheliak, a sharp and pragmatic woman. Does everything she can to keep the townsfolk calm and safe. 11 lines total.
(responding to concerned townsperson) I understand that, but the Empire has taken control of the entire city. There’s nothing we can do at present. We should wait for instructions from King Ladekahn. How is the town holding up?
(incredulous, reacting to bogus news she just heard) A surprise attack on the Empire?! …Nonsense. I’ve never heard of such a silly idea. Our king would never do something like that without telling his people.
(calmly, a bit somber) …Anyway, all we can do now is to trust King Ladekahn and his knights, and to wait, patiently. Anything could happen… we should be prepared for the worst.

A young woman and a member of the mayor's committee. Quiet, but anxious for King Ladekahn. Three lines total.
(concerned, unsettled) Mayor, what do you intend to do about this? Our king is in great peril. We can’t just sit idle and watch…

An elderly woman and a part of the mayor's committee. Righteous and indignant. Two lines total.
(angered, referring to the soldiers) Yet what they are doing is totally barbaric. What reason could they have to send troops to Diadem?

Fortunately, no one has been hurt by the Imperial Soldiers… yet. At the very least, it seems the Empire doesn’t intend to conquer Diadem immediately.

A young child with a humongous amount of faith in the King. Two lines total.
The King’s swordsmanship is almost unparalleled! I don’t know how many soldiers the Empire has… but they’ll never be able to take him down!
A young man in low spirits. Three lines total.
Our heads were in the sand while the Empire was steadily building up its military strength. And these are the consequences for that oversight. The truth hurts sometimes…
An elderly man who had anticipated the current predicament Diadem is in. Mistrustful and bitter. Seven lines total.
Just look at this mess. We knew this would happen. That the Empire would do something like this, sooner or later.
Relations between Diadem and the Empire have never been too good… but there hadn’t been any conflicts to speak of for the past twenty years.
No one was prepared. No one but us old folks, that is. And what you see now is the result of that…
A middle-aged woman in terrible distress and anxiety at the current situation her continent is facing. Three lines total.
(stressed, trying to soothe herself) Those Imperial Soldiers, with their terrible weapons. Just remembering gives me the shivers. Mysterious machines, spurting columns of light… Maybe the era of swords and knights has come to an end…
A man with unshakeable faith in his King, much like his son. Three lines total.
(Courageous) The Empire has taken control of the town. But King Ladekahn and his knights are still holding out in the castle. The Empire won’t be having its way, not that easily.
AGE RANGE: YOUNG ADULT - MIDDLE-AGED
Loyal knights of Diadem who have have had a brush with death or have fallen in battle and know their end is near. #1 has four lines, #2 has four lines, and #3 has two lines. Will cast 1-3 actors for these roles.
Fallen Knight #1: (on the verge of death, barely holding on) I’m sorry… I don’t think I can make it… Please… I ask you to protect the King and his people…
Fallen Knight #2: (injured, dazed) I-I’m ...alive? We have underestimated their strength. Imperial soldiers in black armor are twice as strong as ones in red armor. Please tell my comrades to be especially cautious when confronting soldiers with black armor.
Fallen Knight #3: (heavily injured, unable to move) You… you should be able to go to the floor above us… Please… protect the king…
AGE RANGE: YOUNG ADULT - MIDDLE AGED
Proud knights of Diadem of varied age who have sworn to protect their King and homeland. Diadem Knight #1 has 10 lines, Diadem Knight #2 has 10 lines, and Diadem Knight #3 has 11 lines. Would prefer to cast 1-3 actors for these roles, but may double cast if there aren't enough auditions.
Diadem Knight #1: (shocked, relieved, then urgent) Gibari?! You came!! You really threw us for a loop coming in on an Imperial pod like that! The Imperial soldiers are already inside. I have to stand guard here. Please, you must go inside and protect King Ladekahn!
Diadem Knight #2: (gratefully) Thank you for your help. Please help our comrades— they’re still locked in vicious combat further down. Oh yes, take this.
Diadem Knight #3: We managed to get rid of them… The king was hurt, but we should be thankful that the fight is over and done with. (spirited, indignant) But we are the Knights of Diadem! We can’t let them get away with this. They shot our king! We must act!
AGE RANGE: YOUNG ADULT - MIDDLE-AGED
Earnest Knights of Diadem who have sworn to protect their King and their homeland. They were locked in vicious battle with Imperial soldiers before Gibari and his companions came and turned the tide. Would prefer to cast multiple actors for these roles. All their lines are here.
Diadem Knight #4: (grateful) Thank you for saving us. There are injured people in this room. If the Imperials had gotten any further, it would’ve been a disaster.
Diadem Knight #5: (guilt ridden) I’m so ashamed of myself. I let them get too far into the castle. Take this Magnus. You’ll probably get more use out of it than I will...
Diadem Knight #6: (urgently) There must be other knights struggling up ahead. Please go to them. I’ll give you this.

Loyal Knights sworn to protect the King and Castle Elnath. They are grateful that the party is giving them a fighting chance and will give the player an item if they survive combat.
These knights have 3-4 lines each. Would prefer to cast multiple actors for these roles, but may double-cast if there aren't enough auditions. All their lines are here.
Diadem Knight #7: (gratefully) Oh, Gibari and friends, thanks for your help! This is my treasured Magnus. Please take it with you. And… protect the king.
Diadem Knight #8: (deterring party) There’s no hope beyond this door. It’s already been taken by the Imperial Soldiers. Use the stairs on the right to go around. And take this with you.
Diadem Knight #9: (earnestly) Thank you, Gibari. You can get to the floor above us via that window. We can handle things here now. You and your friends should go on up. I found this Magnus in the last battle. Take it and go!
Age: 40s to 60s
A middle-aged Diadem Knight who has nearly given up after being beaten in battle. His spirit is restored when he is shown Diadem's royal crest. Has 10 lines total, all of his lines are here.
(pained, gritting his teeth) Damn, my legs… I can’t move my legs!!! I feel miserable. I haven’t done much, and look at this…
The crest… The Royal Crest! (rejuvenated, shaking off the pain) Humph, what was I thinking? Although I can’t move my legs, I can still use my arms to crawl forward! Let’s go. We can’t let those Imperial bastards take our castle!
Age: Early 20s to Mid 30s
A young Diadem Knight who has been beaten in battle and swears they don't have what it takes. They regain their strength when they are shown Diadem's royal crest. Has 10 lines.
(drained, pitiful) N-no… I don’t have what it takes...I can’t do it. Leave me alone.
(regaining strength, nostalgic) Th-that is...The Diadem Royal Crest… I admired this crest a great deal in my younger days. It’s what inspired me to join the knights.
(hesitant, then cheerful) Do you really think I can make a difference? Do you think there’s still time? I’ll go with you! I must dust myself off and protect our nation.
Age: 40s to 60s
A Diadem Knight who has all about given up. He is reinvigorated when he is shown Diadem's royal crest. 9 lines total, all of his lines are here.
(weakened, pitiful) *cough* *cough* I did what I could...I can no longer move my legs...I’m ...sorry.
(reinvigorated) The Royal Crest…You… You’ve showed me something amazing! I know, don’t say any more. I was about to lose -- not to Imperial soldiers, but to myself…
(with renewed strength) You’re taking me with you, aren’t you? There’s no way you’re leaving me here!
Age: 30s to 50s
A doctor called to Castle Elnath to treat the sick and injured. While his mission is to help anyone, he is not without bias. He inspects Lyude and hypothesizes he was under a powerful form of hypnosis. 8 lines total, all his lines are here.
(after inspecting Lyude, discussing) It seems he was under a powerful form of hypnosis. Should be fine now. It looks as if no other spell, curse, or the like was cast on him.
(aside, to Kalas, a bit apprehensive) I believe that young man is from the Empire. There must be some reason he’s here…Oh, don’t get me wrong. Medicine is about caring for those in need. I wouldn’t refuse to treat him just because he’s from the Empire.
Age: Mid 20s to 50s
A proud Diadem knight who is fiercely protective of their home and is enraged at the attack from the Empire. 3 lines total.
(encouraging him) Gibari, do what you have to do. We’ll restore the castle and the town to their former glory.
(agreeing with Gibari, seething) … They’ll pay for this outrage! (Context: Gibari is leaving with the party to confront the Empire directly, calling the attackers "Imperial bastards".)
Age: 40s to 60s
A middle-aged man who oversees the cleaning and recovery of Diadem. Very straightforward. Has 15 lines total.
Looks to me like you want to help clean this place up. Am I wrong?
Oh! I was right! I knew you would offer to help! The job is simple. Please get rid of all the rubble scattered about. Totally and completely. It’s easy if you “Magnatize it,” right? Well, get to work.

Another middle-aged man who is overseeing the recovery of Diadem castle. Kalas reluctantly helps him clean up the debris. Has 13 lines total.
