AVENGERS: CASTING CALL! - Comedic MCU Avengers Cartoon

Project Overview

Avengers: Casting Call! is a short, comedic cartoon, a co-production between me and my best friend/creative partner/lover Solo. It will contain elements of satire darker humor. Ultimately, we plan on making an affectionate parody of characters we love. Of course, those characters will need appropriate voices, so we're turning to the talented actors here!

After managing to secure the Mind Stone, the Avengers feel the need to hire a seventh ranger to help protect it. They hold a casting call for any hero in New York to come and audition, in hopes of becoming the newest Avenger. Little do they know, that Thanos has been watching from the shadows, and plans to sneak into the casting call to take the Mind Stone and complete the Infinity Gauntlet! Will our heroes see through his disguise in time? Or will the other candidates have to step up, and help defeat Thanos once and for all?

Casting Call will be a spiritual sequel to an old cartoon we made back in 2016. Unfortunately, it doesn't hold up to our standards, and we feel it's no longer an accurate representation of our current talents. Doing this cartoon feels almost personal, because it gives us a new chance to show our talents, one that can be directly compared to something older and see how far we've come.

  • Additional update: Side project for those interested

    Sorry to flood all your inboxes, but something I should've added that I forgot: In addition to making a cartoon, we are also doing a dub as a side project! The idea is, one of us will be animating and the other will be editing the dub. It's a bit of an experiment though, as we are dubbing the famous YTP the Fesh Pince of Blair, by Dikekike/KroboProductions. It's gonna be a fun challenge to dub lines created by splicing dialogue together!     Hello everyone, Wow, 129 auditions as of writing! It's been a lot of fun hearing everyone's take on their characters. Thank you all so much for taking the time to audition. While there are some definite favorites for certain roles, we'd like to cast the entire project at once, and are not yet convinced on all the characters. That said, we plan on casting soon! Captain America, also known as Steve Rogers, is a former soldier from the 40's turned into a superhuman by an experimental drug, and leader of the Avengers. Steve here is pretty much identical to how he is in the movies, being an All-American hero and fierce leader, though he drops the act every now and then for comedy's sake.

  • He’s right. With Vision’s unfortunate passing, we’re one man short. But this world is full of strong men and women, ready to do some good. We need… a casting call!

  • Being an Avenger takes more than raw strength. Strength is only a tool, a tool that requires proper application. You can punch your way out of a fight, but it takes strategy, intelligence, and resourcefulness to win the battle.

Iron Man. better known as Tony Stark, is a billionaire playboy philanthropist and founder of the Avengers. Tony, in this cartoon, is something of a parody of the snarky straight man he is in the movies; his lines are a lot less clever and his rogue charm veers more douchebag territory. 

  • We’re only six superpowered individuals. We can’t stop someone with five Stones on our own. We need… like, seven superpowered individuals for that.

  • Takes more than skill to be an Avenger, kid. Good looks definitely help.

Thanos is a powerful villain hailing from the alien planet Titan, bent on gathering the Infinity Stones and wiping out half of all life in the universe. Thanos in this cartoon is much more of a typical villain, a mustache-twirling type who plans on conquering the world. He is also something of a real-life villain, being a genuine racist and pretty sexist too. Be prepared for that.

  • Foolish Avengers… these clowns will not stop me from obtaining the Mind Stone. I won’t even bother with destroying them. I’ll simply win this casting call, infiltrate their ranks, waltz into your precious vault and steal the Stone!

  • Well, well, well. It looks like the circus has come to town! Do you truly think a wizard, a child, a middle-aged man, a woman and two blacks can defeat the power of the Infinity Stones!?

Natasha Romanoff, better known as Black Window, is a former Russian spy, now an Agent of SHIELD. Our version of Black Widow's lacks the original portrayal's darker grit, with Natasha here being more loose and an enabler of the wacky antics going on around her.

  • I've gotten confirmed kills at 200 meters distance with a pistol. I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna miss a giant, purple head.

  • Is he really a Spider-“Man”? He’s more like a… Spider-Boy. Spider-Guy. Spider… Boy.

Bruce Banner, a genius scientist who was exposed to heavy gamma radiation, transforming him into the Incredible Hulk. Bruce spends more time as just Bruce in this cartoon, keeping away from the action.

Doctor Stephen Strange is a talented neurosurgeon who becomes a Master of the Mystic Arts after paralysing his hands in a car accident. We turned up Stephen's smugness and arrogance to eleven for this portrayal, so go nuts with the smarmy energy.

Scott Lang is a former criminal turned superhero when Hank Pym recruits him to become the next Ant-Man. As somewhat of a riff on his solo movies, Scott here is somewhat forgettable and fades into the background a lot.

Carol Danvers is a talented pilot who becomes infused with the powers of the Tesseract after a test ride goes wrong. Carol is the closest thing we have to a straight man in this cartoon, though she's still quite nutty herself.

However, in our version, Falcon is just one of the many guys auditioning to join the Avengers. He's a hardened soldier and strategist, the voice of reason when the situation gets dire.
