The conflict of this episode (Eldians and Marleyans getting over their history to work together) comes about in a much more natural and compelling manner when the scouts have doubts on whether they are doing the right thing. They don't want to kill their friends, the enemy is right in front of them, it will be nearly impossible even if they do want to do it, Eren is doing it for their sake, they will have guaranteed safety and peace, it will stop their war, Paradis is screwed without it, even more so without the walls, they won't even be welcomed back and have no place to go, and the Marleyans deserve it, along with the world that chose to ally themselves with Marley.
Meanwhile, The Marleyan group try to convince them that these intrusive thoughts are second doubts and that the Jeagerists are evil and Eren is a genocidal maniac and anyone who supports The Rumbling is Sick and Twisted.
