Are You There God? It's Me, I.P Freely

Project Overview

AYTGIMIPF is my animated thesis film and is about an guardian angel who is sent down from heaven to complete a seemingly easy job; to stop someone from incessantly prank calling everyone. Everything go awry when her charge refuses to change...killing them on accident. Now they face the wrath of god and must escape purgatory.

It has a total run time of 3 minute and 50 seconds without the closing credits and I will be working on a student budget. There are two main voice roles, Jean and Sal, and few minor roles to fill. This film is almost completely satire and good natured, with humorous moments sprinkled in.

This film, once complete, will be showcased at the School of Visual Arts thesis screening and may be submitted to other film festivals. It will also be posted online to my personal youtube channel and various other platforms.

Requirements:

Once you are selected I will need an email or discord so that I may send materials for you to help with the role.

Must have a capable mic and suitable recording environment (unfortunately I cannot accept phone mics)

Must be willing to re-record a few lines

Must be available right after being selected (December 4th - December 7th)

Jean the Angel

Paid: Flat Rate 45 USD
Role assigned to: Analesa Fisher

Jean is a guardian angel, and she is one of the best guardians around.

She falls under chaotic good. She is usually very nice and charming but when things don't go her way she loses her cool. Jean is overly confident and headstrong when it comes to her job but that all goes out the window when confronted with the Big Guy in the Sky.

  • Oh me? I'm your guardian angel. (in a holier than thou tone)

  • Listen here you ant. (clenched teeth rage)

  • They failed, not me! I tried! (desperate)

Sal the Human

Paid: Flat Rate 40 USD
Role assigned to: yummy9987

Sal goes by they/them. They are the human that Jean is assigned to help but very much does not want to be helped.

They're just as headstrong as Jean but their stubbornness takes a front seat for a majority of the film. They are usually very laid back but Sal doesn't like to be told what to do. Once they see the consequences of their actions their heart softens up.

  • Yeah we just got a complaint about food poisoning and we traced it back to your establishment, we just want to make sure your refrigerator is running( in the most serious business tone)

    ...

Well you better go catch it BAHAHAHA (laughter bubbling up before you completely break character)

  • (Your phones been stolen)

Give that back! I need it!

  • (sudden realization that you just ruined some random guys life)

    I... I did that..

Launey the Desk Worker

Paid: Flat Rate 20 USD
Role assigned to: Darling DonutCat

Launey is the desk worker who hands out and collects assignment from guardian angels and is good friends with Jean. She's laid back and likes her free time. She'll get her work done but once it's done than its back to watching tv.

  • Well look who's back (good natured, laid back)

  • Sorry Jean, nothing's come in yet (a little disappointed for her friend but not overly, more neutral in tone)

Office Worker/ Both construction workers
closed
Paid: Flat Rate 20 USD
Role assigned to: DannySpillerVA

Since these characters have one line each I would like a voice actor who is able to do multiple accents and throw his voice enough to not seem similar to each role.

  • (Middle age construction worker, thick new york accent almost cartoonish)

(he's letting his pupil blow something up)

Alright little buddy, how 'bout you push the button

  • (Young Adult construction worker, not as thick new york accent)

    (regal in tone)

    I would be honored

  • (young adult office worker, no accent)

(he's numb to the pain of working his dead end job for a millenium)

Well would you look at that another printer jam
