ZERO ESCAPE: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors Fandub (Main Cast)
Project Overview
Junpei is jolted awake by what initially seems to be an earthquake, but he gets his bearings and escapes a sealed room. He discovers that he is on a ship, and that he is also not alone. Junpei and eight other participants are given orders from Zero, a mysterious masked individual who has "chosen" them to play the Nonary Game. They have nine hours to escape the ship before it sinks to the bottom of the ocean and they all drown. A frantic search through various numbered doors and their puzzles ensue. Vexing truths are learned along the way. All the while the key piece of information they've received rings through their minds:
"Seek a way out. Seek a door that carries a [9]."
Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors (999) is an escape-the-room visual novel game made by Spike Chunsoft, originally released for the Nintendo DS in 2009. It is the first game in the Zero Escape series. This is one of Spike's lesser known properties, sad as it is, and the lack of Zero Escape projects on this website inspired me to try and gather some talent to help fandub this game! We will be going through all six endings. A project of this caliber is a first for me, so some patience is much appreciated. If this pans out, I look forward to any auditions. Be sure to leave your discord tag with your submissions. Good luck, everybody!
NOTES:
-No knowledge of this game or franchise is necessary, but is very much recommended nonetheless.
-This game's narration mode can be very grotesque with the descriptions of certain scenes, as well as the imagery, and as such caution is advised.

Ace is a participant in the Nonary Game, his codename chosen made obvious by the number he has on his bracelet (1). He's the oldest out of the nine participants, and typically level-headed while occasionally cracking a joke or two. He also has prosopagnosia.
For voice reference, the Zero Escape: The Nonary Games trailer could serve (since I couldn't find any isolated voice lines, I apologize) as inspiration, although unique takes are very much welcome!

(Dissuading) Going up there won't do you any good! There are two doors, but neither of them will open!
(Introductory, flat) My bracelet number is [1]. Given that, I think Ace seems appropriate.
(Firm, calm) Standing around here won't do us any good. Best we get moving, don't you think?
Snake is the second of the nine participants in the Nonary Game, with the number 2 bracelet being the inspiration behind his name, as well as the fact that he is blind. He, too, is usually fairly level-headed with a princely demeanor, and boasts superior hearing. He cares deeply for his sister, Clover.

(Intrigued) That's 9 of us then. All of the cards are in hand.
(Doubtful) Well, that may be a little too optimistic. No point to wishful thinking.
(Introductory, calm) I would appreciate it if you would call me Snake. My bracelet number is [2]. Since Ace has chosen cards, then I choose dice--snake eyes, clearly. Which is particularly relevant given that I am blind.
Clover is the fourth participant in the Nonary Game. The youngest of all the participants, Clover's number 4 bracelet she has attached to her wrist serving as her inspiration for her codename. Though she is bubbly and sweet, more so around her older brother Snake compared to others, (at least initially) she is also highly prone to mood swings.

(Hurriedly) Come on! Aren't you coming? You gotta hurry!
(Hopeful, but defeated in response to seeing metal plates barring a possibly escape) I wish we could get out through there...
(Introductory, somewhat more excited than all the others in spite of their circumstances) Me next. I want to be Clover. You know, like a four leaf clover! Good luck, right?
Junpei is the fifth participant in the Nonary Game and the protagonist of 999. He didn't bother with a codename, nor did any of his peers, since he already had his name given before the concept even came up. A college student who woke up on this strange ship with little recollection as to how he ended up there, Junpei must lead his companions to find the illusive door that carries a [9] before the ship they're on sinks to the ocean's depths. He's a lover of jokes, and though at times it may be hard to put up with them, he finds himself caring a lot about his companions, and more so about a certain one especially.

(Frustrated, shouting) What the hell is the deal with this thing?! Where am I?! And why the hell am I here?! Why?! What the hell happened to me!?
(Moment of realization) Oh...this is...hold on, am I on a ship?
(Panicked, shouting) Hey! Anyone! Is anyone there!? Come on, if you're there, say something!
Akane Kurashiki is the sixth participant of the Nonary Game, her codename being influenced, once again, by the number on her bracelet (6). By some weird twist of fate, she reunites with her childhood friend Junpei (Jumpy being her go-to name for him as it was what she called him when they were younger) for the first time in years in dire circumstances. Akane tries her best to look on the brighter side of things, ever the optimist in spite of how bad things can get for her and the other participants. She also has a wide array of knowledge about conspiracy theories.

(Shocked, recognizing Junpei) Oh my gosh...is that you, Jumpy?!
(Curious, in response to Ace's statement) Are you planning to open the numbered doors...?
(Somewhat surprised at first, but absentmindedly) Oh! I'm sorry, I'm talking about him...I just call him Jumpy. His name is Junpei.
Seven is, truly a shocking revelation, the seventh participant in the Nonary Game. You'd probably never guess what the motivation behind his codename is. Seven is a tall, muscular man with even less recollection of how he ended up on that ship than everyone else. Nevertheless, he seems to have a keen eye for things within rooms that others might overlook. (NOTE: He's prone to making questionable and offensive comments, mainly directed at a female character in the cast, so this role may not be for everybody.)

(Panicked, yelling) HEY! What the hell are you just standing there for?! Didn't you hear 'em?! The doors on A Deck are no good! We gotta check the doors on B Deck!
(Shocked reaction, voice slightly shaky) Damn...if the water keeps rising like this, we're all gonna drown...
(Introductory, improvising a codename as an example) Like...I'll be...Seven. Cause this bracelet number says [7].
Lotus is the eighth member of the Nonary Game, her codename stemming from the eponymous Lotus and its eight petals. Well, that and her bracelet number. Although the exotically dressed woman can come off as hot-headed or even selfish, Lotus is extremely knowledgeable.

(Flat, mildly annoyed) I guess there's another one of us now.
(Peeved, frustrated) Yes, we all saw the same thing! That's not important! We need to hurry!
(Opposing) I think I said this earlier, but I don't think we should do that. We'd have to be crazy to open these doors. If we do that, we're doing exactly what Zero wants us to do.
Hey yeah, so guess what number participant this guy is in the Nonary Game. A frightened older man with hair like a bird's nest, this fidgety, stuttering individual has an aura of suspicion about him. He doesn't even have a codename!

(In response to a query about what his numbered bracelet is) I-I-Isn't it o-obvious? There are 9 people here...A-A-and you know who numbers 1 through 8 are...I-I'm the only one left...!
(Unhinged and amused, yet still shaky) O-O-Okay...have a good one, guys. I'm going off ahead now. Well then...good-bye.
Self-explanatory. Narration is in the third person.

A loud noise startled Junpei awake, and his eyes snapped open.
He rolled over and threw out his hand to steady himself, but he found himself groping at empty air.
