About KalinGrace

Hello! I'm Kalin. I'm 23, but with a younger-sounding voice. I've started voice acting relatively recently and have since worked on several projects. I've done theater acting and improv in the past and really enjoyed it, so voice acting sounded wonderful when I was encouraged to audition for a role. I've been having a lot of fun with my VA experiences so far! I currently have a pretty decent home studio setup with a Rode NT1 and a Behringer MC22 audio interface, using Adobe Audition for recording and cleanup.

I speak conversational Russian - I can read and speak the language very well, but I don’t have a large vocabulary (so I can easily record lines in Russian, but I’m probably not the right person to actually come up with the lines to begin with unless they’re pretty simple). I used to speak Spanish pretty impressively, but it’s been a while now so if you need a not-completely-terrible-but-still-American-accent Spanish speaker I might be your girl. I also started learning Japanese some time ago, and while I can’t read most of the writing or understand a lot of the language, I am able to get the pronunciation correct.

I love singing and I'd like to think I'm pretty decent at it - but I'm definitely not a professional or trying to be one. If I'm voicing a character who might have a song at some point, I would definitely be willing to sing if it'll fit my voice! While we're on the topic of music, I play piano, (a little) acoustic guitar, ocarina, (a little) flute, and I just got a Saraz handpan.

I have myself listed as a writer as well, but I'm not generally looking for big writing roles; I'd prefer editing, copyediting, or collaborating on already-written or partially finished scripts. To add a little background writing information, I had a short book of poetry published for an exhibition in Zurich, Switzerland in 2014. I was also recommended by a college writing professor to try and publish a short fiction piece I wrote, so I may be pursuing that soon.

As a side note, if I’m voicing for you I prefer my name (Kalin Palmer) or a link (if applicable) to my profile here on CCC in the credits section, assuming there is one.

I have less than no idea what this does, but it seems good. Which, incidentally, she is.

Kalin has me helped out on various projects of mine. She has always been such a joy to work with because she is kind, responsive, and very professional.

She always goes above and beyond on every project she commits to. For example, if she gets casted as a VA on a project, she still steps up to help in other aspects of the project such as writing. Kalin has a keen eye for detail and grammar so I always trust her to proofread my scripts.

Kalin has a great voice for VA because it has a very enthusiastic and cheerful sound to it, which is important in portraying emotions through these characters. And being a psychology major, she knows how to portray a wide range of emotions through voices.

She takes her role as a VA very seriously and even drinks tea with honey every morning to ensure her voice maintains its peak performance. I know from experience that Kalin is valuable asset to any team she is a part of.
