Still kind of new to this.
By day, I work in tech support. Apparently my voice is recognisable so I thought I'd try my hand at voiceacting.
Trans man, so I look and sound younger than I am. Also, often misgendered over the phone. *weary sigh*
In the past, I've helped host a podcast about theatre, but that was more the production side of things. Unfortunately, that was so long ago, the links are lost to the sands of time...
Aside from voicing characters, I'm aiming to make a few mini-games in 2025 (probably the latter half).
A pretty great short course (that no longer runs, unfortunately) about how to act for radio. It involved reading a few radio plays and excerpts from books, while discussing how to foley sound effects (e.g. door knocking) and proximity to the microphone. We read and recorded Dracula (but alas I've lost the recording!).
This is a course that sets you up with the basics for professional voice acting over four weeks. I didn't take full advantage of it properly (for various reasons) but certainly changed my view of professional voice acting work, and how easy it is to get into the industry. Might retake it in the future.
Games, animation, fun!
