The Purgatorians 'Prequel before the sequel' miniseries
Saph💮 for Sophia Anderson
Sophia Anderson
Sophia is a typical child. She gets bored very easily and really dislikes school. She loves her parents and always tries to behave herself.
Accent allowed - American or British – Preferably with as little dialect as possible but not posh.
Age range – 8-10
Sophia needs to be able to portray love, warmth, friendliness, happiness, and fear.
Line 1 - This is to show me how you can immediately switch emotions. Excited to begin with into feeling down that you wish your dad could be there with you on Christmas Day.
Line 2 - Sophia knows her father is upset but has no idea why. She needs to show concern as a child would while trying to cheer her father up.
Line 3 - The cycle is ending and death is imminent. The winds are strong. Sophia is terrified and is holding on for dear life, if she lets go, she's gone for good and she knows it. This needs extreme fear and sadness in her voice. Her mums just died and now she may too. This scene needs to be very tense and dramatic.Think of a disaster movie when the disaster hits. Sophia needs to be extremely terrified as to what is happening. Crying, extreme fear. Put yourself in her shoes. How would your react as a child?

(Very happy) Yay, Christmas. I love Christmas.(A little down) I never see daddy at Christmas though, he works all day. I wish you could spend one of them here with me.
(Concern) What's wrong daddy. It's Christmas Eve. Nobody should be unhappy at Christmas time.
(Extremely scared. Calling out) DADDY. HURRY, PLEASE. I CAN'T HOLD ON. MUMMY'S NOT SMILING. WE HAVE TO MAKE HER SMILE AGAIN. HELP DADDY HELP.
If it's weather noises that's fine, in auditions that is not the main lines for the show lol. As long as it's not room hiss or a heater, or even family making noise behind your voice.
Line 1 - Loved this one. I really did. Energetic to begin with but not falling into anime style territory. Moving to noticeable feeling down type emotions without taking it into the realm of being very upset. I preferred take 1
Line 2 - Fabulous, absolutely fabulous. This is the terror I'm looking for.
You may have just descended from heaven to help me in my hour of need lol. I thought I was going to have to extend this deadline. That's not a promise of a role, but the best one so far. Just pray another angel doesn't descend to try to steal this from you :D
Omg thank you so much! :D I just wanna say that really appreciate all the hard work you put into giving everyone feedback for how they should portray the character to give all of them a chance to submit the best auditions possible. Not everyone does that here, and I genuinely wouldn't have done it if it weren't for your feedbacks lol. I was honestly surprised I could do that much with my voice when I did line 2 hahah.
Even if another angel were to swoop in and descend from the heavens, I'm just honored to have submitted a worthy audition for this project~ I sincerely wish you all the best for it cause I can tell you put a lot of time, love, and effort not just for the story, but the characters as well ♥
I don't think they did *hint hint*
Auditions are now closed and I'm going through them all now to cast people. Unless someone steals this within the next few hours, you may be getting a DM from me by the end of the day... Shhh... Don't tell anybody :P
I wish more people would give feedback on the auditions. i thought it was standard when I first started and wondered why people were praising the feedback, good or bad, to begin with.
I've started to put voice acting tips, from a directors perspective on my Twitter/X profile. Hopefully these help some people who don't get feedback here.
