Unpaid
Role assigned to: Jenn Danielson

Age: 40

Gender: Female

Importance: Main

Accent: American/Canadian, though I'm not too bothered as long as you sound like a mother - like Rose, I haven't posted references since she's had quite a few voice actors, but what I mean is I just need to be able to see you as playing Rose

Voice: Medium

Personality: Rose is very motherly and cares deeply for her son, Ford (and her daughter Amber who isn't on screen much). She wants the best for Ford, and will do anything to keep him safe. She also cares a lot for Freddie and will protect him too.

First Appearance: Season 2 Episode 1

Rose is a main character who doesn't technically serve the actual main plot, but being the mother of one of the two lead characters (as well as the guardian for the other lead character) she appears in almost every episode, with the line counts ranging from about 1 to 25.

Rose started in season two, shown as someone who cared about her two children. However this did deteriorate throughout the course of season three as she started to miss her husband Nate, who had been murdered nine years prior by Rose's sister Yvonne. She started a relationship with Ford's friend's dad (Nico) who Ford did trust but was certainly not a fan of the relationship which caused him and his mother to not get on well. Rose was also reluctant to let Ford's cousin Rayalynn stay with them, however Rayalynn has lived with them ever since and is often the voice of reason amidst all the problems Ford faces. In the end, Ford's best friend's mother, Lilah, hosted Ford's birthday party because Rose didn't even seem to care. At the end of season three Ford becomes friends with Freddie although Rose isn't happy about this considering the things Freddie has said before. It's a quarter into season four that Rose and Ford make it up. Rose explains many things about Ford's Auntie Yvonne which makes Ford realise that he can probably trust his mother again. Except, this leads to many problems between Ford and Johnny because Johnny yells at him for trusting Rose again, and ends up with Ford refusing to trust anyone except Freddie, and he even yells at Rose why he ever trusted her again. Later on, at the end of season four, after Freddie is in a really bad fire, Ford cautiously approaches Rose and asks her if Freddie can move in with them, to which Rose agrees instantly to Ford's surprise - until Ford and Rayalynn realise that Rose just wants to make it up to Ford. Freddie's been living with them ever since, and Rose treats him like one of her own, just like Freddie's own mother never did. Throughout season five, Rose's main role she plays is trying to protect Ford and Freddie by forbidding them to leave the house because she knows Yvonne's on a blood thirsty rampage. In the end though she decides this is bad idea, especially after Ford keeps sneaking out, partly to rebel because he's so annoyed by the boundaries. Now, Rose's main role in the show is to always be there for Ford, which she is, so as said she doesn't serve the main plot, like she's not in the action, but she's always there because she's Ford's mother, and she's always there to get them out of a sticky situation.

  • " This is the first time ANY of you have been away from your home without an adult, but Freddie, you’re in charge, so just call me if you need ANYTHING. " *motherly, protective, a little anxious*

  • " I was expecting you about 9pm, it’s almost half past midnight now! " *frustrated and annoyed*

  • " I know Freddie...I know...I wish I could make your pain go away, but I can’t do that. However, I do think that Ford’s right, talking about it is a good idea, like he said keeping her memory alive. Talking about her might make it seem like she’s still with us... " *kind, empathetic, understanding*
