Roland is of the most powerful members of the Gilded Army, wielding the storied lightning glove. Though he has endured and participated in many successful conquests he grew a reputation for being a bit unorthodox in the eyes of the Gilded Army. A loose cannon though still loyal to the plans laid out to him by fate.
Roland grew close to Ernesto through their many years of travel and training and thus began to think of Ernesto like a brother rather than just a comrade. As we see in this story Roland is haunted by his coming death. However, it's not the loss of his life he fears but rather what happens to the ones he cares about when he is gone.
