This role calls for an actor that can believably voice the character as both a young teen and an early 20-something year old man. Please feel free to slate your audition if you're going to vary up the voices, describing which is which. If you're going for a voice that can be believably for both, don't worry about slating. Jack is a good-natured kid - striving to work hard and do his best. He's the younger of two brothers, and his older brother Richard has it out for him - fearing that young Jack is trying to usurp their father's legacy out from under him. Despite this, Jack loves his brother and wants his love in return. Unfortunately, things don't work out so well for Jack.
